That title about sums it up. I think attaching to the DOMContentLoaded or maybe it's works right in HTML5 in IE9. But I'm not having much luck connecting with an event that is available for the completion of a bunch of SVG markup into the DOM. Are there any pointers about this? I would prefer to use a "pure SVG" document, not HTML5. But I am sort of roped into HTML5 because it's helpful to have the meta tag in the head that switches the browser into an IE9 SVG supportive rendering mode. Please, send help on the question of SVG in IE9 hooking up to Javascript!! Thanks everyone.

I've read the documentation and I can't figure out how to override the help system framework that eclipse generates (eg. Search Scope All Topics etc). It shows as a grey boring style, and the plugins seem to build it automatically. I can add css to the toc.xml which affects my pages, but not the frame that goes around it. Is there a guide for this?
The modernization of the help system which is still based on HTML frames and which is not responsive has not yet been implemented (see Eclipse bug 501718). Eclipse is open source and help is welcome. ;-)
However, it is possible to create your own responsive HTML 5 page with an iFrame for the content and which loads TOC elements, search results, etc. via JavaScript from the Eclipse help system as it is. In this way, I realized a search field with search suggestions and a preview (see my blog post: Like to pimp your help, eh?).
I'm implementing a blog in my website and i'm looking for a plugin that will allow the users to style their posts. Like the bar here in stack overflow that lets me add images, links and such...
I'm not looking to integrate wordpress. I already have the blog engine implemented, and I'm just looking for this kind of plugin.
Anyone know about one?
Many thanks!

What you're looking for is a WYSIWYG editor that is embedable in your backend.
WYSIWYG is an acronym for "What You See Is What You Get". In computing, a WYSIWYG editor is a system in which content (text and graphics) displayed onscreen during editing appears in a form closely corresponding to its appearance when printed or displayed as a finished product, which might be a printed document, web page, or slide presentation.
This way you can adapt a textarea to make it something like the editor you have on SO.
Try googling "embedable WYSIWYG editor": http://tinyurl.com/nd3to4c
You'll find tons of javascript plugins that give you these features.
I wanted to see if anyone else had ever had an issue with Mobile Safari or Chrome causing web pages to suddenly spit out a ton of garbage.
The issue occurs when I visit the site & refresh multiple times. Suddenly, none of the content renders correctly, but instead looks more like the type of glyphs you'd see in Microsoft Word.
Has anyone ever seen this before and, if so, how did you resolve the problem?
I have seen it on iPhone and Android. On iPhone I suspect its due to the interruption during the page load (getting kCFURLErrorCancelled on the didFailLoadWithError method). Though I am still looking to confirm this issue and still looking for a solution ...
You should check the character set of the HTML page. Bases on your language or the special characters used in the page, you should use the apt charset. You can learn more about charsets here
http://www.w3schools.com/tags/ref_charactersets.asp

It is really difficult to tell anything from what you have posted. You should check the meta tags of your page. I would suggest you validate the html source and css of the page here .
I am using a html page in the web view. I want to track the location of the html page when I tap on the webview.Basically I want to mark the selected text in the html page. Please help me out as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance.
You're gonna have to do some javascript injection on the loaded page if it's not your own html. The javascript needs to locate the tap location and change the CSS of the element(s) where the tap occurred to highlight it. You can't do this just from UIWebView alone.
the developer of iCab Mobile (a full-featured iphone web browser) has some good discussions of things they did along those lines.

There's quite a bit involved with stuff like this. You can google around for something like "iPhone hybrid application project". There's a few opensource items out there which would be useful for learning these techniques.
Also for future consideration, it's kind of rude to suggest someone should "help you out as soon as possible".
Update: Please disregard, my problem was caused by an advertisement bar being inserted by the vendor who provides my workplace wireless service.
I was building a mobile friendly website and wanted to use HTML 5. However when I specify the doctype as <!DOCTYPE HTML> , I get a gap at the top of the page on safari on the iphone.
I notice that other sites have the same problem such as nextstop.com and nike.com
I guess safari does not fully support HTML 5 yet. Anybody know of a workaround?
HTML 5 is still in a very unstable state. Don't use it in a production environment.
Edit Just so you guys know what it's about, HTML 5 is currently an Editor's Draft, and the document clearly states (in the Status of This Document section) that this specification is not stable, and that a consensus may not have been reached on any of the proposed sections. I think it should be clear enough that it means it's a bit early to start using it.
All browsers correctly interpret the HTML doctype. Putting it in sets your browser into Standards Compliant mode, that is the only difference with or without the doctype.
You can use a CSS reset tool like http://meyerweb.com/eric/tools/css/reset/ to get rid of default margins and padding on all elements.
