I've read the documentation and I can't figure out how to override the help system framework that eclipse generates (eg. Search Scope All Topics etc). It shows as a grey boring style, and the plugins seem to build it automatically. I can add css to the toc.xml which affects my pages, but not the frame that goes around it. Is there a guide for this?
The modernization of the help system which is still based on HTML frames and which is not responsive has not yet been implemented (see Eclipse bug 501718). Eclipse is open source and help is welcome. ;-)
However, it is possible to create your own responsive HTML 5 page with an iFrame for the content and which loads TOC elements, search results, etc. via JavaScript from the Eclipse help system as it is. In this way, I realized a search field with search suggestions and a preview (see my blog post: Like to pimp your help, eh?).

I have a scalaFX app that currently has its views created programmatically. I am wondering if I can use the Emmet tool to create FXML (particularly ScalaFXML) because I want to recreate my views in ScalaFXML to separate my views from my controllers more effectively. I have searched the internet and cannot find out if this is possible. So far I have only used Emmet for HTML. Thanks in advance for the help!
I have been looking around for something for PrimeFaces; I had trouble finding anything. I guess maybe it's because people who are using it are actually writing "normal" HTML with JS frameworks.
The good news is, it's completely (and easily!) customizable: just find the installation directory, and edit the "snippets.json" file, or create a new one called (for example) snippets-scalaFX.json. Mine on a Windows 10 machine, installed as a plugin for NPP, was C:\Program Files (x86)\Notepad++\plugins\EmmetNPP\emmet\snippets.json.
It's pretty obvious once you get in there, but inside the "snippets" object just add some more fields for yourself. For example, to make a PrimeFaces commandButton tag I added:
"pc": "p:commandButton"
You can use $0 or ${<placeholder text>} to define tabstops for expanded snippets, and | to define the caret starting point.
Full docs on editing snippets are here.
I'm implementing a blog in my website and i'm looking for a plugin that will allow the users to style their posts. Like the bar here in stack overflow that lets me add images, links and such...
I'm not looking to integrate wordpress. I already have the blog engine implemented, and I'm just looking for this kind of plugin.
Anyone know about one?
Many thanks!

What you're looking for is a WYSIWYG editor that is embedable in your backend.
WYSIWYG is an acronym for "What You See Is What You Get". In computing, a WYSIWYG editor is a system in which content (text and graphics) displayed onscreen during editing appears in a form closely corresponding to its appearance when printed or displayed as a finished product, which might be a printed document, web page, or slide presentation.
This way you can adapt a textarea to make it something like the editor you have on SO.
Try googling "embedable WYSIWYG editor": http://tinyurl.com/nd3to4c
You'll find tons of javascript plugins that give you these features.
I'm building a website using GWT and would like to add Image Cropping capability so users can upload their profile image and then crop it as they need to. I'm looking for something similar to Jcrop but in GWT.
I found THIS and THIS code samples how to crop an image on the client side but there is no UI part where user can select part of their image that needs to be cropped.
There were also couple of similar questions on SO (for example and this GWT with Jcrop) but nobody gave an example of the selection part of the image that uses pure GWT.
If you have an idea how to do it please share and I'm sure other people will leverage from this in the future.
Here is the example of what I'm looking for:
I recommend that you take route #1. I've been working full time in GWT for awhile and spend a lot of time looking for libraries, and this is one that I just don't think exists yet.
Here are your options:
Wrap Jcrop using a JSNI interface.
Pros: You have to include JQuery and JCrop, which are small and robust
Cons: Learning how to build your first JSNI wrapper can be a pain
Build your own from GWT Drag and Drop
Pros: "Pure GWT"
Cons: You probably won't handle all the edge cases that JCrop has figured out over time, nor be as featureful.
Port JCrop to GQuery
Pros: JCrop is open source and only around ~1600 lines of code
Cons: It's ~1600 lines of code, which is likely to be much bigger when ported to Java
If you decide to do any of the above, please open source it! I'd be happy to contribute, and it looks like something that I could use in my GWT projects as well.
GWT Cropper is a widget that allows cropping an image.

Edited in 2015: as long as Google Code is about to be closed, the project has been moved to GitHub. The new address is https://github.com/w32blaster/gwt-cropper
hi i am using joomla 1.5 for my site.
in this i fetched the problem of tinymce editor when i clicked on any article the image button are not shown. when i clicked on edit html source button It showing only “{$lang_theme_code_title}” on the Title bar and all body is blank.
so plz help me to resolved out from this problem.
thanks in advance
You should consider trying the JCE editor instead of trying to debug Tinymce. I'm running JCE error free on over 40 sites. It has a superior image manager, link manager, and code view. It installs easily and is highly configurable. The only caveat is that you should disable the Joomla insert image, page break, and read more buttons as JCE has those built in.

See this thread:

Try adding www. to your domain. Most often this is the problem.
I searched joomla project for vars $lang_theme_code_title... and related... There are not. Looked at Tinymce editor, it has javascript driven language file...
Most likely problem is cause by JavaScript. Try using different browser (firefox or chrome).
I read info on some other forums, some claim that temporarily disabling the antivirus solved the problem. I don't think that this will work, but you can try.
If none of this helps, you will need to give more information. Load firefox with firebug and see the NET tab for JavaScript files and Ajax Requests, most likely you'll find something interesting there (i think 500 Error)
I have done some research on this subject, and found out, that Gzipping and adding a new image manager through a plugin would not be as difficult. The only question is the Image manager.
I have seen some quite good ones, like the Image Manager for JCE, which is a Joomla wysiwyg editor, but none for TinyMce for itself.
Could someone show me a good image plugin?
P.S. SwampyFoot is out of question, as it's download links are broken, and PhP Letters Ajax image manager is quite hard to install.
Thanks!
EDIT: I just found Mad File Manager, which seems to work excelently except for a little glitch: An image can be uploaded, but cant be selected... Thats sad...
EDIT2: I've found KCFinder, which seems to be very promising, but I just can't get it to work properly. Somehow, the configuration is quite difficult.
Ok, So I have been able to answer my question myself. So here it goes:
Set up TinyMce with Sozfo solution. The important ting to remember here is, instead of extending your Forms from Zend_Form, you have to extend them from Sozfo_Form. As to the defining your own extendable controller, it didnt work for me, So I put the path defining helpers in my Bootstrap. And if the whole ordeal works, there is a textarea that should have TinyMCE controls, but there aren't any, try checking the comments at Sozfo, or checking if the page is cached or not. It took me a good hour, to find out, that the only reason why no JavaScript was pushed to the header was because of a very persistent cache.
Set up KCFinder. The main problems I faced here were due to wrong paths to corresponding files. When the paths were correct, the only thing to remember is to enable it. There is a boolean to change in configuration file.
The last issue was adding the KCFinder to my Tinymce, and what I ended up doing was, I added the function needed to call KCFinder in TinyMCE.php View helper. ( Due to some glitch I seem to be unable to post the code here). Once you have set up your paths correctly, everything should work splendidly.
All in all, it took me about 3 days to figure this whole thing out. Talk about steep learning curve...
Have you looked at MCImageManager - its not free but its an option if you're happy to pay for it
Not really a suggest as you've got it but swampy foot download does work
As you're already using zend framework, why not use dojo, set up the dojo form and call the editor element and integrate this http://docs.dojocampus.org/dijit/_editor/plugins/LinkDialog into it?
