I have a new website http://www.xzy.com .
When I search on google with the keyword xzy, then another website with similar pronunciation is displayed in the search results and my website is displayed in "Search instead for" part. How can I show proper results on google ?
EDIT:
After around 2 months of working on my website i have found that google has started to recognize "XZY" as new word in spite of having tough competition with XYZ. Now instead of showing "Search instead of" google is displaying proper normal result.

Until your site is more popular, Google will always think that "thotlabs" is a mistyping of "thorlabs." When your site is searched enough, Google will recognize both as acceptable spellings and not recommend a different spelling.
In the meantime, register your site on Google Webmaster Tools so Google is more aware of your site and you can see data on how Google is indexing your site.

I have a short url website with over 700.000 shorts urls in it. I have created sitemaps for these short urls which i have uploaded to Google Search Console. the short urls looks like the examples bellow and every short url looks like this. This is a niche site which only redirect to one specific site. The problem is that when I look in google Search Console i get a lot of "pages with errors". When I check these urls, every url with an error exists and is active.
Why am I getting error from the sitemaps, and how can I remove them, or to get indexed properly?
Short url example
htts://site.com/45za
htts://site.com/45xa
htts://site.com/41cf

I have made a github webpage using R studio that I'm more or less happy with. Yay! I used the following tutorial to make it. Trouble is I cannot seem to 'find' it when I google it (even though I know what I'm looking for).
StackExchange::Webmasters have suggested I may need to add a sitemap.xml.
Question: Do I really need a sitemap.xml? If so, how do I go about making one using R studio, and where does it belong in my github pages directory?
Google crawlers index the web 4 times a day (at least they used to, maybe more now). I see you last updated your repository a month ago.
If you search site:cpryan.github.io Google is supposed to return the pages it has indexed.
You can also claim your site on Google's WebMaster site (by putting a small file in your repo with a code Google give you) to see even more information about what Google has or maybe has not indexed.

For some time now, I have had troubles getting Google Analytics to work properly on my generated Github Pages. I've used the default snippet provided by Google but I think that the crawler that is looking for the snippet looks in the url victorbjelkholm.github.com instead of victorbjelkholm.github.com/2012-I-Bilder/. However, my default url in the Google Analytics profile is http://victorbjelkholm.github.com/2012-I-Bilder/ so it should be no problem.
Do anyone had a similar experience of adding Google Analytics to sites on Github Pages?
Do anyone have a suggestion on what could solve this so I can get some stats from my site?
The url is http://victorbjelkholm.github.com/2012-I-Bilder/
I went into the Profile Settings of the active profile and changed Default page to index.html. Now my tracking code can be found correctly.
Do you have any filters on the UA-20806824-11 Google Analytics profile that could be filtering out data from Github?
I took a look at your site: the GA code looks good, and I saw tracking data for the page view being sent to the analytics servers.

Dynamically generated page URLs don't work this morning [closed]

This morning dynamically generated links to FB pages from our app stopped working. Link to a page like this http://www.facebook.com/pages/125567350861413 used to work just fine, now it requires page name http://www.facebook.com/pages/Daniels-Real-Estate/125567350861413
Why would this be changed? Was there a problem with old pages link format?
We tweaked our code to take into account page name and made it work. But if a user changes the name of a page the link to this page will break, until we refresh the list of pages in our db. We'll write a chron job that will refresh the list of page names for all users using our app multiple times a day, but we'd prefer not having to do that.
Anyone else ran into this issue? What was your workaround (other than the above)?
While this is probably an off-topic question, you can get the page url using the graph api:
http://graph.facebook.com/125567350861413 and looking at the link property. As to why Facebook changed this, you would have to ask them at their developer group or log a bug.

The problem is that AdSense has to crawl your pages to make suitable ads. If I have dynamic content or user-generated content, then AdSense is not suitable. How can I modify my site so that it is accessible to the Adsense crawlers, or should I approach the problem of monetizing my site from another angle?
does your content require a login?
If not then theres no reason Google can't crawl it. Just because its dynamic or user generated doesnt mean google can't see it.
If it doesn't require a login and Google still cant crawl your site, then you have done something wrong and your site is not SEO'd very well in the first place.
As far as other ad networks go, heres a few off the top of my head
Burst Media
ValueClick Media
Casale Media.
Though keep in mind these are usually much harder to join then Adsense.
