This morning dynamically generated links to FB pages from our app stopped working. Link to a page like this http://www.facebook.com/pages/125567350861413 used to work just fine, now it requires page name http://www.facebook.com/pages/Daniels-Real-Estate/125567350861413
Why would this be changed? Was there a problem with old pages link format?
We tweaked our code to take into account page name and made it work. But if a user changes the name of a page the link to this page will break, until we refresh the list of pages in our db. We'll write a chron job that will refresh the list of page names for all users using our app multiple times a day, but we'd prefer not having to do that.
Anyone else ran into this issue? What was your workaround (other than the above)?

While this is probably an off-topic question, you can get the page url using the graph api:
http://graph.facebook.com/125567350861413 and looking at the link property. As to why Facebook changed this, you would have to ask them at their developer group or log a bug.

For some time now, I have had troubles getting Google Analytics to work properly on my generated Github Pages. I've used the default snippet provided by Google but I think that the crawler that is looking for the snippet looks in the url victorbjelkholm.github.com instead of victorbjelkholm.github.com/2012-I-Bilder/. However, my default url in the Google Analytics profile is http://victorbjelkholm.github.com/2012-I-Bilder/ so it should be no problem.
Do anyone had a similar experience of adding Google Analytics to sites on Github Pages?
Do anyone have a suggestion on what could solve this so I can get some stats from my site?
The url is http://victorbjelkholm.github.com/2012-I-Bilder/
I went into the Profile Settings of the active profile and changed Default page to index.html. Now my tracking code can be found correctly.
Do you have any filters on the UA-20806824-11 Google Analytics profile that could be filtering out data from Github?
I took a look at your site: the GA code looks good, and I saw tracking data for the page view being sent to the analytics servers.

I am unable to create a simple facebook app. It continually says try again later. I have searched the forums, but only see posts about people trying to create the app as a "page", but I am logged in as a "user" on the master account. My account has been active for 7 years and I only have one page.
What do I have to do to get the ability to create an app?
I am simply trying to create the app so that customers can click a like button on our product pages. This is done using a pre-built extension in the Magento E-Commerce platform. All I need is the appID to plug into Magento.
Please help!
I ran into the same problem today. I was trying to create an app for my fan page for this site: http://www.cutepickuplines.info
It looks like it's an issue with Facebook. I figure it will be resolved by the end of the day. I'll report back here when I get it working.
Looks like things are working. If needed clear your browser cache or sign out before trying again.

Facebook announced that they are about to remove app profile pages and allowing to migrate existing likes to a "regular" facebook page.
From some reason, i do not have the migration option on the top of my app profile page as it supposed to be according to their post.
I made sure to open a page with the same app name and set its category to Brands & Products / App.
What am i missing? Is there a way to activate the migration from another place (rather than this banner)?
I think not all App will get it immediately. I just have it today and have migrated my app profile page to a new page a created under Brands & Products / App.
Unfortunately, once I migrated, I don't have accessed to the old page and lost all my precious wall content... It had been a very active interaction channel between us and our fans....
Is there any channel we can feedback and vote to migrate our wall content as well?

How do I go about either making, or retrieving facebook short url's (fb.me) from a page, profile, event etc? I want to update my url shortener site - but if the user links to a facebook page I want to just return a fb.me link instead. Does facebook make their short urls on the fly, or does each page automatically already have one?
Facebook uses Bit.ly's services to shorten links from their site. While pages that have a username turns into "fb.me/<username>", other links associated with Facebook turns into "on.fb.me/*****". To you use the on.fb.me service, just use your Bit.ly account. Note that if you change the default link shortener on your Bit.ly account to j.mp from bit.ly this service won't work.
You can use bit.ly api to create facebook short urls find the documentation here
http://api.bitly.com
I'm not aware of any way to programmatically create these URLs, but the existing username space (www.facebook.com/something) works on fb.me also (e.g. http://fb.me/facebook )

While i'm logged out, my Facebook Profile can not be seen then.
I just wanna let others see me when i give them my link.
All others Facebook Profiles can be viewed without login.
I mean, for example you can see yourself:
https://www.facebook.com/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
For my profile, it is showing like:
This content is currently unavailable!
The page you requested cannot be displayed right now. It may be temporarily unavailable, the link you clicked on may have expired, or you may not have permission to view this page.
What privacy tweak should i do?
Go to your Privacy Settings page, then Apps and Websites, then Public Search.
There you can enable Public Search.
