TinyMCE - editor changing pasted content - tinymce

Two questions and maybe they are caused by the same thing/setting.
Using TinyMCE with full corporate account. Many of the publishers are just pasting HTML into the HTML Source Editor... we are just getting this going the results are very mixed.
So if someone has a well coded page it works well - as far as we think.
But if you create a page with a couple of (or one) open div tag. Holy cow! The editor can throw divs everywhere - 30 extra on one page someone sent me. Why is the editor changing content? Can we keep this from happening? If a publisher makes an HTML mistake we would rather that the mistake shows - not be scrubbed.
Also I noticed myself when creating menus that if you put in anything inside a link tag (like a div, ul, li, dd, dt, dl, h1-6... pretty much any tag) other than a span, that the editor will either push the tag content outside of the link tag or it will change the tag to a span.

Looks like the verify html is the new setting. Will report back after testing.
David - I would have marked yours as right if you answered. Looks like that works for 3.4 and below.

For version 3, use
verify_html : false

Why suddenly some things have disappeared from the body section?

I've been working on a website and from time to time some elements are disappearing from the document. I've figured out that it's because in CSS document the early lines are not fully commented. I would like to ask why if even such a tiny thing like Skeleton's default version text is not fully commented or some of the classes or id's don't have a closing bracket then the whole website has layout problems. What skeleton's version has to do with page's body color ? This is really confusing.
Here is the HTML and CSS :

I would be glad with any help. Yours truly,

Browsers have to guess how to render bad code. Sometimes they will guess and render it correctly, other times it will look weird.
Different browsers are likely to render it differently (though error handling standards are improving)
In this case, your demo lacks a "/" at the start, which means it is trying to render the comments as css. The comments are not css, so it gets confused and does the best it can.
A quick way to find any bugs in the css is to use this:

How to stop TYPO3 from stripping <p> tags from RTE content (or touching it at all)

I have a TYPO3 which strips any <p> tags from content I create when the RTE editor is enabled for the field in question before it saves it in the DB. And it seems I cannot find a way to disable this behavior with a TypoScript. As soon as I disable the RTE editor I can save <p> tags and they get correctly rendered in the frontend. They also get correctly rendered in the frontend when I simply add them directly in the database in the tt_content table in the bodytext field.
When I switch to the edit source mode of the RTE I see all <p> tags in place. Before and after a save (also they never make it to the DB) so it looks like they get converted to (linux) line breaks or something and get converted back to <p> tags when the editor loads them in the backend. But those line breaks of course have no effect to in the frontend.
I thought this behavior would be controlled by RTE.default.proc but everything there looks good to me (p is already in the allowed tags and there is no clue why it could be stripped). I've also tried to disable the RTE.default.proc.entryHTMLparser_db and RTE.default.proc.exitHTMLparser_db as I wouldn't mind it if the HTML content as you see it in the edit source mode of the RTE (so with RTE still enabled!) would not be touched at all - in fact I would prefer it - but this had no effect. On the other hand when I add tags to the allowed tags which weren't there before (like <button>) this works so the things I try to add to RTE.default.proc aren't ignored in general.
So how can I stop TYPO3 from stripping my <p> tags from RTE content or touching it at all? I'd prefer a solution with TypoScript but meanwhile I would also be happy about an ugly hack in a sys extension as long as it works...
I'm not sure if this is a bug or not but the solution to my problem lies in p.rmTagIfNoAttrib = 1. At least in my TYPO3 version (v6.1.7 and nearly only built in extensions) I cannot find this setting in the preset TypoScript of the page or the RTE editor so I'm guessing it defaults to 0. In my logic 0 means false so I'd say the default would read as "remove tag if there is no attribute?: no!".
However TYPO3 seems to work after its own logic. Adding the following statement to the page TS sloves my problem and <p> tags are preserved:
RTE.default.proc {
entryHTMLparser_db {
tags {
p.rmTagIfNoAttrib = 1
}
}
}
The reasons for this behavior are explained in the TYPO3 manual:
Many of the transformations performed back and forth in the TYPO3 backend date back to when it was a challenge to incorporate a RTE in a browser. It was then sometimes needed to fall back an a simple <textarea> where rich text had to be presented in a simple enough way so that editors could work with it with no visual help.

Items in Plones TinyMCE content browser are overlayed in album view - how to tackle this?

I do not know if this is a bug or rather stems from any customizations. I would like to know how to tackle this problem:
If I click on "add image" or "Link" in Plone's "Content Browser" the default view mode is "Album". In this mode the items are layed above each other, i.e. after 4 items the next items do not seem to be put into a new column.
See the screenshot:
Plone version is 4.3.2. How can I fix this? Pointers (relevant files, parts of code) welcome.
I have seen this happen too, depending on what I did with styling and skins. TinyMCE uses a grid system for showing these images and this needs the columns.css file from plonetheme.sunburst. I only now realize that this actually already goes wrong in the way you describe when you use standard Plone 4.3.2 and choose the classic theme as skin.
Ah, but it only fails because there is a typo in the columns.css that is shipped with plonetheme.classic, which actually includes the grid css as well. You can customize this file in portal_skins and fix the error. The problem is a line that is meant as a comment.
Change this line:
The 16-column Deco Grid System.
into this line:
/* The 16-column Deco Grid System.

Tinymce - problem with fontsize using bbcodes

i am using tinymce with the bbcodes-plugin. In generally, its working nicely, most of the bbcodes like [b] and [color] and so forth are transmitted into html within the textarea and safed as bbcodes into the database correctly.
The thing with font-size is the following, when formating a string the first time it is correctly changing its size and is safed correctly as bbcode into the database.
But when i open that record again to edit it, the bbcode is not converted to html, so in the textarea there is something like
"[size= medium]rfeferf[/size]" instead of the text in the right size.
Do you have any hints on this? Ive been searching the web yesterday and today, didnt find anything that could solve this.
Regards, Maschek
This is caused by BBCode plugin in TinyMCE unable to transform [size] tag back to HTML. I've logged a TinyMCE bug #5327 with a fix patch attached. You can download latest TinyMCE source, apply the patch and compile it (or wait until the patch is reviewed and released).

Too many problems on tables in Tinymce?

im working on a CMS it is almost finished
but im struggling serious unfamiliar problems in WYSIWYG editor.
i was first using ckeditor but after experiencing problems with it i switched to tinymce.
some problems are solved but this time someother problems showed up.
problems occuring especially on tables.
1-Anchor element underline removal not working
2-Duplicating Phone numbers
--->might be due to skype phone number converting toolbar
3-too many s how to clean those why even those are there?
4-how to convert
<p>text</p>
back into just
text
because tinymce converting some texts into p element *automatically if it's not the client doing it unknowingly.
*=even though i did that force_paragraph:false setting.
5-As client reports : sometimes cursor turns into loading cursor and wysiwyg editor causes browser to stuck.not even allowing to click links outside of the editor.
6-as i experience sometimes it really does stuck and not allow you to edit anything at all.
here is that problematic page created with tiny_mce and causing lots of errors in process of editing:
Here some answers
2-Duplicating Phone numbers --->might be due to skype phone number converting toolbar
Might be - this cannot ba a tinymce related problem.
3-too many & nbsp;s how to clean those why even those are there?
Browsers will show several spaces (character code 32) as a single one. Thus & nbsp;s are inserted alternating instead of natural spaces.
4-how to convert
text
back into just text
Tinymce is a rte editor and will generate html code. In order to be able to style editor content, the content need to be wrapped inside a block element - eighter ps or divs. You may use server side code to remove tags.
6-as i experience sometimes it really does stuck and not allow you to edit anything at all.
Please describe a bit more in detail - there needs to be a reason for this.
