im working on a CMS it is almost finished
but im struggling serious unfamiliar problems in WYSIWYG editor.
i was first using ckeditor but after experiencing problems with it i switched to tinymce.
some problems are solved but this time someother problems showed up.
problems occuring especially on tables.
1-Anchor element underline removal not working
2-Duplicating Phone numbers
--->might be due to skype phone number converting toolbar
3-too many s how to clean those why even those are there?
4-how to convert
<p>text</p>
back into just
text
because tinymce converting some texts into p element *automatically if it's not the client doing it unknowingly.
*=even though i did that force_paragraph:false setting.
5-As client reports : sometimes cursor turns into loading cursor and wysiwyg editor causes browser to stuck.not even allowing to click links outside of the editor.
6-as i experience sometimes it really does stuck and not allow you to edit anything at all.
here is that problematic page created with tiny_mce and causing lots of errors in process of editing:
Here some answers
2-Duplicating Phone numbers --->might be due to skype phone number converting toolbar
Might be - this cannot ba a tinymce related problem.
3-too many & nbsp;s how to clean those why even those are there?
Browsers will show several spaces (character code 32) as a single one. Thus & nbsp;s are inserted alternating instead of natural spaces.
4-how to convert
text
back into just text
Tinymce is a rte editor and will generate html code. In order to be able to style editor content, the content need to be wrapped inside a block element - eighter ps or divs. You may use server side code to remove tags.
6-as i experience sometimes it really does stuck and not allow you to edit anything at all.
Please describe a bit more in detail - there needs to be a reason for this.

I have a document-level (dotx) customization, with a custom ribbon, and one of the controls in that ribbon is this:
<gallery idMso="CustomGallery1" label="Building Blocks" size="large" />
The only other part that makes this work is the creation of entries under Custom1 in the Building Blocks Organizer. In Word 2010, this would show all the building blocks under the Custom1 category. In Word 2013, it shows the name of each building block briefly, and then all of them are removed and the list is empty:
The building blocks themselves all contain either a document property or document variable.
I have tried the following to resolve this but without success:
Ensured that they are still present by opening the template outside of Visual Studio; they are.
Upgraded the template to the 2013 dotx format.
Re-created the building blocks.
Re-created the entire dotx file, and then re-created the building blocks.
I also tried using other ribbon IDs, they are empty too (they do all have entries) but they display it differently:
There should be four entries there, they exist in my Normal.dotm. The last two controls there, for equations and content controls, do work, except the content control that is inserted displays similar behavior as the Autotext gallery:
I don't know what should be shown in this case but I doubt it's nothing.
Right now I'm assuming that this is just a broken feature in 2013 and will have to replace it with something else. Does anyone know anything to the contrary?
I don't think it is a broken feature, after some struggle, I did get to understand how to use it:
The gallery button in the "toolbar" of a newly added Building Block Gallery Content Control indeed seems empty at first, because it is set to list QuickParts. You have to change it in the properties of the control so that it lists the content of the AutoText Gallery instead (or any other Gallery of Building Blocks you'd like). To do so, either directly click on the Properties button in the Developper tab while the control is selected, or switch to Design Mode so that the Properties appears in the context menu (right-click on the control):
AutoText is "Insertion automatique" in French, the rest you can guess ;)
As far as I could find, it's just a broken feature. There's also a ridiculous memory leak the first time you do a Find and add fields during that find.
I have a database that I work on using Access 2013, though I must maintain compatibility with Access 2010; I am using Windows 7.
I have an input form that is set to Pop Up = Yes, and Modal = No. When opening this input form directly from the Navigation Pane, it functions perfectly normally.
I have a macro in a search form that calls up this input form with the specified record using the "OpenForm" action. When opening the input form with this macro, the form's background is totally garbled (it pulls the background image from whatever was behind it when called, as though it were transparent), and all labels are unreadable.
That said, if I run the macro again by trying to open a different record, the form then appears correctly until it is closed. Also, if I change the "Window Mode" in the "OpenForm" action to "Dialog" rather than "Normal," it appears correctly.
Neither of these are valid solutions, though -- it should work on the first time, and I do not want the form to be modal. All my code seems okay (insomuch as I am not receiving error messages), so I don't understand why it would be doing this... any guidance is very much appreciated.
I have discovered what is causing this problem, though I don't understand why.
The macro I am using came from a sample database, and has some commands I am not fully familiar with. One such command is "Requery."
I experimented with removing various parts of the macro with the window mode as "Normal" for the "OpenForm" command. As soon as I tried removing "Requery" (and nothing else) the window opened in "Normal" mode with no distortion whatsoever.
In short, having "Requery" in the macro was what was causing this error to occur. It seems like an innocuous enough action (all it does is refresh data, from what I understand, as described here: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb177360(v=office.12).aspx), but since I don't see why its inclusion was necessary anyway (if anyone could shed some light on that, it would be appreciated), it looks like this is essentially solved.
I hope this may help someone else in the future!
I've been working on a website and from time to time some elements are disappearing from the document. I've figured out that it's because in CSS document the early lines are not fully commented. I would like to ask why if even such a tiny thing like Skeleton's default version text is not fully commented or some of the classes or id's don't have a closing bracket then the whole website has layout problems. What skeleton's version has to do with page's body color ? This is really confusing.
Here is the HTML and CSS :

I would be glad with any help. Yours truly,

Browsers have to guess how to render bad code. Sometimes they will guess and render it correctly, other times it will look weird.
Different browsers are likely to render it differently (though error handling standards are improving)
In this case, your demo lacks a "/" at the start, which means it is trying to render the comments as css. The comments are not css, so it gets confused and does the best it can.
A quick way to find any bugs in the css is to use this:
http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
The object is to Show-Hide text located under their respective Titles, so a User reads the title and shows or hides text belonging to that title if the User wants to read more.
I tried whatever I could find so far on here, we're talking dynamically setting text coming from a spreadsheet, can't use IDs, must work with .class, must be missing something, I have this piece of code:
... html.push('<div class="comments">' + comment + '</div></div></div>');
but when I try this Show-Hide code nothing happens, even if the error console shows nothing. Basically I want to Show-Hide the .comments class divs with a show-hide toggle link located under each of them. I say them because the .comments divs are reproduced dynamically while extracting text coming from Google spreadsheet cells/row (one .comments div per spreadsheet row). I tried .next, child and parent but they all divorced me so I dunno looks like a dynamic issue. So far I only managed to globally toggle all divs to a visible or hidden state but I need to toggle independantly individual divs.
I prefer a jQuery solution but whatever worked so far was achieved with native javascript.
Note: If a cross-browser truncate function which would append a more-less link after a number of words (var) in each .comments divs would be easier to implement then I would gladly take that option. Thx for any help, remember I am still learning lol!
I have been working on an entirely JS UI project and have brought myself to using $('', { properties }).appendTo(BaseElement) to work best for adding HTML elements because it appropriately manipulates the DOM every time.
If you are having good luck with push elsewhere, however, breakpointing on the line where you do your $('.class').hide() and see what $('.class').length is. Alternately, you can just add alert($('.class').length) to your code if you are unable to breakpoint the code. If it is 0, then your elements have not been properly added to the DOM. Changing to append will ensure they are part of the DOM and therefore targetable via JQuery.
I'm trying to implement a kind of "guided typing" widget for data entry, in which the user's text entry is highly controlled and filtered. When the user types a particular character I need to intercept and filter it before displaying it in the widget. Imagine if
you will, a Unix shell embedded as a webapp; that's the kind of thing I'm trying to implement. I've tried two approaches.
In the first, I extend a TextArea, and add a KeyPressHandler to filter the characters. This works, but the browser-provided spelling correction is totally inappropriate, and I don't see how to turn it off. I've tried:
DOM.setElementProperty(textArea.getElement(),
"spellcheck", "false");
But that seems to have no effect- I still get the red underlines over
"typos".
In the second approach I use a FocusWidget to get KeyPress events, and a separate Label or HTML widget to present the filtered characters back to the user. This avoids the spelling correction issue, but since the FocusWidget is not a TextArea, the browser tends to intercept certain typed characters for internal use; e.g. FireFox will use the "/" character to begin a "Quick Find" on the page, and hitting Backspace will load the previous web page.
Is there a better way to accomplish what I'm trying to do?
You might just be able to use event.preventDefault() on your keypress events to avoid these browser behaviors. Otherwise, maybe a hybrid of the two approaches? Have a hidden TextArea with focus, accepting key events, and then post the typed characters to a separate Label.
There is no specific GWT method on TextBox for this, but this simple line of
GWT code fixes the problem for Chrome (for other browsers, YMMV - it may depend upon how completely they implement HTML5) by setting an attribute on the underlying input element:
myTextBox.getElement().setAttribute("spellCheck", "false");
Perhaps this attribute is a relatively new feature.
