I tried googling but have not got any definitive answer :
Is a screen shot mandatory for an in-app purchase ?
My app is already live on the app store - so is the screenshot really pertaining to the application screenshot ?
My in-app purchase is really a non consumable - which will be like adding more points / coins like in a game
so really there is no screenshot in my case which makes sense
any thoughts please ?
Thanks

Question 1 - Is a screen shot mandatory for an in-app purchase ?
Answer - Yes, for submit any in-app purchase for review, it is required. Without screen shot it will not approved.
Question 2 - My app is already live on the app store - so is the screenshot really pertaining to the application screenshot ?
Answer - You need to provide screen shot in such a way so reviewer can see where you have used your in-app purchase in application.
Question 3 - My in-app purchase is really a non consumable - which will be like adding more points / coins like in a game
so really there is no screenshot in my case which makes sense
Answer - Though any type of in-app purchase you have used but you need to provide screen shot in itunes connect. If you have not provided screen shot than you will not able to select that in-app at the time of "Ready To Upload Binary" and it will not get approved from apple.
For more refence you can follow apple's In-App Purchase document
They mentioned,
Uploading Screenshots
Before you submit your In-App Purchase, you must upload a screenshot of your In-App Purchase for review purposes only. This screenshot will not be displayed on the App Store or user device. Screenshots must be at least 640 x 920 pixels and at least 72 dpi.

I have many versions released so far for an App (without In-App purchase).
Do I have to submit anything to be able to test In-App purchase?
What do I have to do?
I've implemented this - http://troybrant.net/blog/2010/01/in-app-purchases-a-full-walkthrough/ - so far, nothing happens when hit Product Details, or Purchase.
No, there exists an In-App Purchase Sandbox. All you have to do is creating the App in iTunes Connect (under "Manage my applications") to add your In-App purchase items.
You don't need to submit and reject a binary in order to advance your development process or test In-App Purchase. The link you're referring to, although helpful, is now out of date and the quirks in iTunes Connect that it refers to are gone, so don't follow it blindly!
The Apple doc is much more reliable and I recommend you use it instead. I actually wish I had started with the Apple docs rather than the link you provided when I implemented In-App Purchase in my app a few months ago--I can't recall the details but I do remember that it led me astray, particularly regarding the need to submit and reject a binary.
I am new in iPhone development.
if i want to buy only an image within the application through Apple - In App purchase Payment mode. So what would be the method for this?
NOTE: Dont Want to buy the whole Application.
Thanks in advance.
Refer this blog of In App Purchase
Also refer the apple documentation
You keep the image locked and ask the user to make an in app purchase for it to unlock.
I just submitted my app to the App Store and it's in the reviewing process (3 Degrees of Wikipedia). I have set the "Availability Date" to a future time as some blogs want to cover my app, and I want the release of the actual app come out at the same time as the reviews.
My Problem is: will the promotional code work for the blog reviewers, because the app is not actually in the public App Store? In other words, can the reviewers try out my app during this past-approval-yet-not-public stage of the app.
Thanks,
Ivan
The short answer is no, you can't.
In order to redeem a promotional code the app needs to be available to download under iTunes.
If you want to give blog reviewers a chance to look at your app before it's released. Send them a Ad Hoc version of your app. This is the recommend way in sharing your app with a limited circle of reviewers/testers.
You can find out more information on Ad Hoc under the Apple iOS Developer section
I have a few questions regarding inApp Purchase as follows:
Do we need to make a product (in App purchase) live before submission or we can make it after app approval.
Suppose I have a product in inApp Purchase that is to be in sale by Next week, and if my app with inApp purchase version gets approved this week, then how do the Apple store test my app.
Do any one know how the apple app store guys test the inApp purchase in the application. Do they buy our product in the inApp purchases and then test the product. What does the screen shot submitted to approve the product in iTunes for inApp Purchase refers to.
Apple submission is largely guesswork.
I don't think you need to worry about how Apple test the In-App Purchase. If your app currently has no purchases available for it; but it still works, then I would think that's okay.
From a 'making-your-users-happy' point of view it would make sense to be able to buy at least some In-App content the day it goes live - but I don't think it would be necessary to pass Apple approval.
The screen shot is supposed to show what the user gets in return for their purchase. However, that can be tough - just do the best you can. We have an In-App purchase for the 'full version' of a game, to demonstrate that I just used the splash screen of the game. It passed.
please help me , i am getting product count 0 in response.product.

Make sure to check the "Cleared for Sale" checkbox for the in-app purchase in iTunes Connect. Note that this does not submit the in-app purchase for approval to Apple. To do that, you need to click the green "Approve" button in the upper right hand corner.
All you should need to do to test the in-App purchase is check the "Cleared for Sale" checkbox for the purchase in iTunes Connect.
Don't reject your binary. The binary has to be waiting for review (or cleared for sale) before the store will work right.
Also make sure each of your in app purchase items are cleared for sale on iTunes Connect.
You can create a new application but not upload the binary on iTunes Connect. This way your app is in the "Waiting for binary" (or something like that) state.
Then you're binary won't be rejected.
If anybody needs help implementing the In App Purchase feature, there's a complete sample here
are you sure add Product information in iTunes conect.
Enter iTunes Connect, Click Manage Your In app Purchases link, add Product information and id.
I post a summary in my msn space http://leefj.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!ADF54DD0A549AD9B!471.entry
