How to properly setup Mercurial plugin for Eclipse? - eclipse

Just added Mercurial plugin (1.4.12.86) to Eclipse (Web Dev Version, Build id:20090920-1017), and got this error on startup:
Cannot run program "hg": CreateProcess error=2, The system cannot find the file specified
Found a thread on the same problem, but have no idea how to fix it.
Here's more from the log:

Do you have mercurial installed locally? ie. can you run hg from the command line/dos box? If not, you need to start with that - get it from the Mercurial website.

You might have mercurial installed locally on windows, but have yet to restart windows since you installed. After you reboot the eclipse plugin will be able to find the mercurial installation.

Actually, not quite. The Eclipse Mercurial plug in requires you to install the hg command line utilities, which are python programs. That means you have to install python (2.6 minimum). That means that Eclipse will have problems executing a Python script until you have it execute a program that Eclipse understands (like a DOS batch script) that executes the hg python script.
Then after all ofthat, perhaps you will eventually be able to check stuff out (copy, clone whatever they call it in the Mercurial world).

Eclipse not starting in Windows 10 (Issues with workspace)

So when I start Eclipse, it says that it cannot be started and that I should check my log files in the work space file, any solution on how to fix this?
The eclipse files are stored on my D drive while the workspace is on my C drive if that makes any difference.
If i check the plugin file with workspaceNew there are only 3 files:
org.eclipse.core.resources
org.eclipse.core.runtime
org.eclipse.m2e.logback.configuration

Javadoc Hover suddenly broke in eclipse luna

I installed eclipse luna a week ago and worked every day with it until the javadoc broke yesterday.
When i hover on a class or method, the popup shows, with the right dimension apparently, but it's blank.
This problem happens for classes that i wrote, classes that come from maven dependencies and classes from the jdk (like String).
I restarted eclipse, the computer, and it still doesn't work.
I didn't notice anything i did diferently that could have caused this.
I looked at the build path and for each jar, there is the source path and the javadoc path.
The javadoc view is empty also.
I don't know what to do. I can't work without the javadoc hovers.
Edit :
In the error view i saw that the first time i try to hover i get an Internal error on "org.eclipse.jdt.ui" :

The problem is as the #Pavel Horal said
You should switch your browser to a different one , the default browser is IE by modifying the eclipse.ini file eclipse.org/swt/faq.php#browserspecifydefault
or just add
-Dorg.eclipse.swt.browser.DefaultType=mozilla
at the end of your eclipse.ini file.
Or if you are more comfortable with UI interface of the eclipse you can use this help to change the default browser HELP.

It seems you have problems with the eclipse.core.runtime i would reinstall the IDE.

Eclipse is not working after download

I downloaded the eclipse from this site: http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/ (Eclipse classic 4.2.1)
I extracted the zip folder and ran the exe file -> eclipse (With the symbol of a circle of eclipse)
I get this error message: An error has occurred. see the log file...
I saw the log file is very long and not understood, I did not find the problem.
can anyone help me?
I think that the error that was written in the log file:
java.lang.RuntimeException: Application "org.eclipse.ui.ide.workbench" could not be found in the registry. The applications available are: org.eclipse.ant.core.antRunner, org.eclipse.equinox.app.error, org.eclipse.equinox.p2.director, org.eclipse.equinox.p2.garbagecollector.application, org.eclipse.pde.junit.runtime.uitestapplication, org.eclipse.pde.junit.runtime.legacytestapplication, org.eclipse.pde.junit.runtime.coretestapplication, org.eclipse.pde.junit.runtime.coretestapplicationnonmain, org.eclipse.pde.junit.runtime.nonuithreadtestapplication.

You can try launching it as administrator.
or
try from DOS prompt.
or
create the workspace folder in your home directory.
or
finally read log file.

Cannot start Eclipse Juno

I am getting very frustrated with this problem with Eclipse. I have had it many times, and quite frankly I think Eclipse is garbage. But since I do all of my Android development there, there are no other alternative IDE's. Here is my problem: I cannot start Eclipse. I changed absolutely nothing, and all of a sudden the .log file in .metadata throws the following stack trace error:

I don't know what to do! I have no .snap file anywhere. What else can I try???
Thank you all for your help,
Igor
I occasionally have this issue as well, and it is indeed frustrating. What fixes it for me is to go into my eclipse workspace: <workspace>/.metadata/.plugins and start deleting stuff. Most of the things in here are auto-generated; settings etc. I think you can keep org.eclipse.core.resources (that's where a lot of your own user settings area).
Unfortunately, this makes the workspace forget what projects you were working on, so you have to re-add them, but for me this isn't a big deal because I store them elsewhere on my filesystem.
Hopefully this helps!
