Cannot start Eclipse Juno - eclipse

I am getting very frustrated with this problem with Eclipse. I have had it many times, and quite frankly I think Eclipse is garbage. But since I do all of my Android development there, there are no other alternative IDE's. Here is my problem: I cannot start Eclipse. I changed absolutely nothing, and all of a sudden the .log file in .metadata throws the following stack trace error:
!ENTRY org.eclipse.osgi 4 0 2012-11-16 15:07:22.032

I don't know what to do! I have no .snap file anywhere. What else can I try???
Thank you all for your help,
Igor

I occasionally have this issue as well, and it is indeed frustrating. What fixes it for me is to go into my eclipse workspace: <workspace>/.metadata/.plugins and start deleting stuff. Most of the things in here are auto-generated; settings etc. I think you can keep org.eclipse.core.resources (that's where a lot of your own user settings area).
Unfortunately, this makes the workspace forget what projects you were working on, so you have to re-add them, but for me this isn't a big deal because I store them elsewhere on my filesystem.
Hopefully this helps!

Lombok installation failed on IBM Rational Application Developer

I try to install Lombok on IBM Rational Application Developer and I don't succed. I've made all the steps that are necessary for an eclipse based IDE, but IDE can't start right know. If I delete the -javaagent argument that referes lombok from eclipse.ini, the IDE it will start again, but the lombok will not be ready for development.

I've already read all the suggestions from stackoverflow/github but nothing worked. I will appreciate any idea :)
Thank you :)
If I read the stacktrace correctly, the code fails where Lombok tries to patch the info screen to show that Lombok is installed correctly. It seems that RAD does not contain the same code here.

There is a similar bug report open in the Eclipse bugzilla: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=423923
Comments suggest that
your workspace is trying to load org.eclipse.e4.ui.workbench.addons.splitteraddon.SplitterAddon. This can happen if
1) you have o.e.ui.workbench from master in your workspace when launching from a 4.3.x target or
2) if you are opening an existing Luna workspace with 4.3.x
I had a similar exception when launching with a workspace that was created by an older version. In my case the workspace was created with 4.4 and the exception occured when launching a 4.5-based application on that workspace.

Javadoc Hover suddenly broke in eclipse luna

I installed eclipse luna a week ago and worked every day with it until the javadoc broke yesterday.
When i hover on a class or method, the popup shows, with the right dimension apparently, but it's blank.
This problem happens for classes that i wrote, classes that come from maven dependencies and classes from the jdk (like String).
I restarted eclipse, the computer, and it still doesn't work.
I didn't notice anything i did diferently that could have caused this.
I looked at the build path and for each jar, there is the source path and the javadoc path.
The javadoc view is empty also.
I don't know what to do. I can't work without the javadoc hovers.
Edit :
In the error view i saw that the first time i try to hover i get an Internal error on "org.eclipse.jdt.ui" :

Edit 2 : it still doesn't work !
I uninstalled eclipse and reinstalled a fresh one, i wiped the workspace, there are no changes.
The problem is as the #Pavel Horal said
You should switch your browser to a different one , the default browser is IE by modifying the eclipse.ini file eclipse.org/swt/faq.php#browserspecifydefault
or just add
-Dorg.eclipse.swt.browser.DefaultType=mozilla
at the end of your eclipse.ini file.
Or if you are more comfortable with UI interface of the eclipse you can use this help to change the default browser HELP.

Google plugin for Eclipse - Eclipse fails to launch

I seem to have successfully downloaded the Google plugin (v4.2) for Eclipse from:
http://www.gwtproject.org/usingeclipse.html
Following the download, I tick yes to restart Eclipse for the plugin to take effect.
It kills my current session of Eclipse, and then attempts a restart of Eclipse, but only gets as far as asking me to specify a new workspace, following the splash screen (Android Developer Tools black/green start up screen).
Then it displays the following error message:
An error has occurred. See the log file
I cannot open Eclipse from this point on.
Steps I've taken so far to rectify this issue:
- tried keeping the same workspace when prompted to specify
- tried making a new workspace when prompted to specify
- starting Eclipse through command prompt with -clean
- Deleting workbench.xmi from .metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.e4.workbench
- Deleting .snap from .metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.resources/ file didn't exist
When I found no solution, I did a complete reinstall of Eclipse. My workspace and past projects worked fine following the reinstall. Everything is hunkydory until I try to install the Google plugin again. Same result happened second time around
Here is the last section of the log file for this event:

Previously, I was downloading the ADT SDK bundle from the official android site. This only gives you Eclipse 4.2, not 4.3. I therefore initially had to download 4.2 version of Google plugin to match up with my Eclipse version- this is where I was getting the error outlined above.
Here was my fix:
Instead of downloading the ADT SDK bundle, I did a fresh download of Eclipse only, then added the SDK tools/ADT plugin/platform tools/platform/system image separately. From the official Eclipse site, I could download Eclipse 4.3.
Then I downloaded Google plugin 4.3. It just seemed to work fine. So there seemed to be a problem with the Eclipse 4.2 and Google plugin 4.2 combo.
I have the exact same problem as you and I think I might be forced to uninstall and reinstall the whole of Eclipse. I had installed google plugin for eclipse 4.2 for my eclipse 4.2 and now I keep on getting the error message with the long metadata log.
I'm surprised that this bug is not discussed on FAQ on google's site. This is really frustrating and I wish I found this thread before I blindly trusted the google plugin to work without issues.

What is the problem here?
This is often a problem with temporary files saved by plugins. These steps should help you out:
Check YOUR_WORKSPACE/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.jdt.core/ There are a lot of index files. Sometimes it helps to delete them. Also start your eclipse with -clean.
According to your problem, I think you've moved some files from the filesystem, a new location prehaps, that's causing this error. Try checking them.
Refresh all your projects.
Try creating a new workspace and check.
If nothing works, try re-installing it.
Also, if you decide not to go with STS, you can always use Eclipse IDE with STS plugin.
Hope it helps. :)
