I have designed a field named as 'Goal' as a Multi-Line field
Goal
I have designed a field named as 'Short Goal' as a Single-Line text field
Short Goal
I want to copy values from field 'Goal' to 'Short Goal'.
For this, I have created a Custom Rule as :
Custom Rule for Goal
But upon saving, I am getting an Error as : A value of type Html is not valid for field Short Goal.
Can anyone please suggest a solution for this.
I have followed your steps to configure these two fields and faced the same error message as yours.
It is caused by the field type. Text(multiple lines) is Html format, Text(single line) is string.
When I create the rule to copy the value from Multi to Multi and from Single to Single, they both work well.
I want to create a PMD rule to forbid usage of labeled statements
Sadly I could not find a common XPath for such statements.
I need a XPath query which finds
//LabeledStatement for the labels itself
and for the
ContinueStatement and BreakStatement i would need a possiblity to check if a label is defined there.
From the PMD Rule builder (XPath builder) the labels are defined as:
BreakStatement:loop (loop is the defined label name and could be anything)
ContinueStatement:loop (loop is the defined label name and could be anything)
can someone give me a hint what XPath I should define?
You are on a very good track. Using the rule designer is a great way to figure this one out, specially since PMD 6.0.0 which revamped the GUI.
As you figured, //LabeledStatement will match all labels (which you don't want), and //BreakStatement and //ContinueStatement will flag all break / continues, which you only want to flag if they are followed by a tag.
Therefore, you simply need to check if those have a tag set or not. Using the designer to inspect properties of those AST nodes makes it easy to figure it out, the attribute where the label is stored is the Image, which is null when none is defined. As XPath stringifies all attributes, a null value is an empty string.
Therefore:
//LabeledStatement | //BreakStatement[#Image != ""] | //ContinueStatement[#Image != ""]
Will match:
All labels
All breaks with a label
All continues with a label
I am using CRM 2016, and trying to customize email template by adding a dynamic data. I know that CRM allows to use only specific vanilla entities, but when I explorer an old code I found an option to use {0}, {1} etc' for injecting data from non vanilla entities (by code) - unfortunately that code cannot be tested...
Have someone heard or know about that way? is it possible? what to google for?
You can do this by manually typing similar marker what CRM is using. Note that this is not documented in SDK.
Dynamic Values For Custom Entities In Email Templates
In the template, where you want the value to appear, type within 2 brackets an exclamation point followed by the entity logical name. After the entity name, add a colon, and then the field logical name, ending it with a semi colon. If you’d like a default value if nothing was found, after the semi colon add the default value.
{!<entitylogicalname>: <fieldlogicalname>; <Default Text>}
More in part 2:
The Global Template Type is what you’d want to use for custom
entities, or any other entity not listed in the template type drop
down menu. And just to reiterate, regardless of the way you insert
values, whether you use the out of the box insert method or you
manually type it in, you can only insert values from one record.
Dynamic Values For Email Templates - Part 2
Dynamics' email templates are flawed. You either can't use custom entities or you have no translation. I use this workflow instead. It can do everything : https://github.com/rtebar/dynamics-custom-emails
I would like to create a personalize PCB template (Title block) for my company which include company information and logo. So I wanted to know how can I use or edit existing PCB sheet templates according to my needs?
Pariksit.
THIS ISN'T A QUESTION ABOUT PROGRAMMING. I'll answer but don't worry if someone delete the question.
I like to create my own title blocks. You can do that creating a schematic component and introducing the parameters you want.
In your schematic library, add a new component called Title_Block. Use lines and strings to create the fields.
I put these strings in red to show that are special strings starting with '=' sign.
These special strings will be replaced automatically by Altium when you create a parameters with the same name. I put some Altium default parameters (SheetNumber, SheetTotal, CurrentDate and Title) and two that we'll create (VersionRevision and Project). You can see other default special strings here: Schematic Text Strings.
In your schematic sheet, disable the Title Block to introduce yours. Right click on the schematic, Options > Sheet..., and uncheck the Title Block box.
Create your own parameters on Project > Project Options tab Parameters like this:
Now, when you add the component called _Title_Block it seems like this:
In Schematic Page,
Design->Project Template ->Choose a File
Now, following location will be open.
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Altium\AD16\Templates
Here, you can find like A3,A4 different template for Schematic and PCB also.
You can Edit that as per requirement.
To Edit or Change the logo in Template sheet:
Place->Drawing tool->Graphic.
I'm trying to create a "Quicklink" document for customizing the allowed connector types between elements. Our UML Profile already exists like below:
Big version here: http://i.stack.imgur.com/kcKQT.png
And this imports as an MDG Technology just fine.
However, when I add a "Quicklink" document to the profile and import it as an MDG Technology, I get the error "Encountered an improper argument". Those of you familiar with MDG Technologies in Sparx EA knows that there is no logging of any sort as to why it failed. Unfortunately, the documentation is just as unhelpful.
Here is my Quicklink document:
//Source Element Type,Source Stereotype Filter,Target Element Type,Target Stereotype Filter,Diagram Filter,New Element Type,New Element Stereotype,New Link Type,New Link Stereotype,New Link Direction,New Link Caption,New Link & Element Caption,Create Link,Create Element,Disallow Self Connector,Exclusive Stereotype Filter + No Inherit from Metatype,Menu Group,Complexity Level,Target Must be Parent,Embed Element,Precedes Separator LEAF,Precedes Separator GROUP,Dummy Column,
Feature,ChiFeature,Requirement,ChiRequirement,,,,Realization,,to,satisfies,,TRUE,,TRUE,TRUE,Requirement,0,,,,,,
My question is, is there any way for me to find out why the Quicklink document is invalid. Alternatively, is there someone more experienced with this that can see the issue?
In answer to your first question: no, I'm afraid not. As you note, EA is not very user-friendly when it comes to debugging extensions.
Happily, I've spotted the problem: you've got too many columns. Instead of filling in a dummy value at the end you've added an additional comma, which means an extra column. Replace that with a 0 and you should be OK. (Plus, of course, there shouldn't be a comma at the end of the comment line either.)
So try
//Source Element Type,Source Stereotype Filter,Target Element Type,Target Stereotype Filter,Diagram Filter,New Element Type,New Element Stereotype,New Link Type,New Link Stereotype,New Link Direction,New Link Caption,New Link & Element Caption,Create Link,Create Element,Disallow Self Connector,Exclusive Stereotype Filter + No Inherit from Metatype,Menu Group,Complexity Level,Target Must be Parent,Embed Element,Precedes Separator LEAF,Precedes Separator GROUP,Dummy Column
Feature,ChiFeature,Requirement,ChiRequirement,,,,Realization,,to,satisfies,,TRUE,,TRUE,TRUE,Requirement,0,,,,,0
