Xcode App Simulates and Launches Black Screen - iphone

When I launch my iOS app it seems that I only get a black screen on both device and simulator. I'm running Xcode 4.4.1 and the iOS sim is set up for 5.1. Is there any information you can give to help me out here? I'm pretty sure it's the viewController, but I'm not sure.
No background image
No change in colors
Basic App (Text boxes/Ad Bar/Nav Bar/Table Cells)
- All objects are available in Xcode (haven't messed with the coding yet)

Code to come!

I've been working on this app all morning and I think I figured out my problem. So it turns out the problem was the "Ad BannerView" that I had put on the main View. Deleted it and it simulates just fine.
Not sure what caused it to do that, and if anyone knows, I'd very much appreciate a little bit more learning.
If you guys have anymore advice for me on here or in Xcode I'd love to hear it.
Thanks a ton for the help guys!

i Know i am late but i am posting it, If it could help someone else.
You may probably removed your initial viewController, You can set it by followed
Go to main storyboard
select viewController you want to show up first
in attributing inspector you will see "Is Initial ViewController" with a checkbox
mark is checked(tick sign) and give it a run.

You have to provide image for that the size of image for iPhone should be 320,480 and 640 , 960 with name Default.png , Defauld#2x.png , and image should on root of aproject.
or you can select your image form XCode.

Why does the iPhone Simulator show parts of the springboard behind the app?

While revising one of my apps to work with the latest iPhone dimensions I noticed the simulator was (wrongly) displaying icons behind the app like the app wasn't sized correctly for the new 1136 x 640 dimensions. I couldn't find anywhere in my Cocos2d 2.0 code that affected this issue and changing the size of the white background image did nothing. When I told the simulator to go "Home" and then relaunched the app, it appeared normal. This only happened when testing localization languages like German in the following image.
Sounds like a bug to me. Maybe report this to Apple?
Yes this is definetly a bug, if not then apple will help
Reset your simulato.
then run your project.
Removing all references to armv6 eliminated this issue.

Not all custom button photos are showing up in Xcode simulator or device

I have been working on making home screen button link images for my app to take the user to different pages. When I was finally done with making all of the custom photos (all same resolution), only two of them show up on my device/simulator and I can not for the life of me figure out why. You can view what the storyboard vs the simulator looks like here. It looks the exact same on my iPhone 4, and I adjusted all of the view controllers in my storyboard to be compatible with retina 3.5 inch only. If anyone knows whats going on, I would be more than happy to hear your feedback. Thank you.
1)just strech more that means just try to increase the width & height of your images just by pulling or streching them.
2)be sure images has correct Named
3)be sure that images are added in project

Missing Localized Screenshots Error on itunes

I have selected Default Language as "Australian English" as Default language. When I am submitting the binary it showing as rejected"Red Icon" with status "Missing Localized Screenshots". The application is in only single language. I have added screen shots also the application is only for iphone.
When I am looking binary information that is showing as:
Localizations : ( "en-AU" )
Please suggest me where I am making mistake.
Check if you have screenshots for iPhone 5. I had this same error, when screenshots for iP5 were missing.
Basically the error telling you that you need to upload the iPhone5 device screen shot(at least one screen shot).
So solution of the problem:
1.Either you can upload the screen shots for iPhone5 Device . OR
2.You can just removed the Default-568h.png from your binary , in this case your application just run in the "letterbox" mode on iPhone5 Device.
So which ever is easy for you just adopt it .
I adopted the second one when i face the problem.
HAPPY TO HELP:):)
Just make sure to upload iPhone 5's screen shots .My app wasn't made for iphone 5 but I ran it on iphone 5 simulator and took screen shots and uploaded and every thing went ok.
All above answers seems right, but this can happen too if you have NO screenshots for 3.5" - RETINA, beware.
If you already have screenshots for 3-in & 4-in, add a single screenshot for iPad and that should fix your problem. The iPad shot is compulsory.
Issue has been solved still posting may be it help someone. Please follow below steps:
1- Upload 5.5 inch display screenshots.
2- Click on "Device Manager".
3- Here you will have list of screen sizes with the options to expand on left side and a check box on right hand side "Use 5.5-Inch Display","Use 4.7-Inch Display".... and so on. Click on these checkboxes if you don't want to use different images than 5.5 inch display screenshots else upload new images here with correct dimensions.
4- Click save.
In my case, I had the iPhone 5 (4" display) screenshots, but it also wanted 3.5" retina screenshots.
I added these, and the app went into 'Waiting for Review' state without further action.
I had the same problem, my solution was to change "Devices" in Development target only to iPhone (bacause i insert screens only for iPhone):
There is nothing wrong with your app - you need to add the screenshots from the iTunes Connect metadata and uploads section.
Once I'd added these in all went through and the app won't automatically flagged as missing localized screenshots.
Not the best of messages, but not wildly inaccurate.
I had this problem and mine was a Universal iOS app made in GameSalad Creator, you need screenshots for all the relevant screens even if it lets you progress without them.
I had changed the name of the app in the previous version and it choked on that. I changed the name of the app back to what it was and it went through fine..

iOS Simulator v5.1 window is missing device frame and Home Button

Is there a way to revert the look & feel of iOS Simulator window back to how it used to look in 5.0 and older versions?
P.S. I know Cmd-Shift-H shortcut for Home Button.
For anyone who comes here with this problem, but does not read the comments, you can get it back by hitting CMD-1 (as noted above), but it will only show for the full size emulation, if you want it zoomed out, it goes away.
then you have to use the shift-cmd-H to click the home button. And you can do it twice to simulate the click-click to show running apps, and then close them. (Don't press and hold tho, that will just trigger it to keep opening/closing the running apps window)
If you have a Retina Display macbook, you must set set the display to the highest resolution to see the iPad/iPad Retina frame on the simulator.
Hope this helps someone out!
You have to Choose Hardware > iPhone, and THEN hit Command + 1...I'm surprised nowhere else was this posted in this order. Happy Coding!
I had the same issue with a previous SDK and I had to reinstall the SDK in order to have the frame back again (I needed it for some screen shots).
So I am almost sure that it is not related to the retina resolution.
Unfortunately it is not possible to bring back device frame around display - I believe it's because of necessity to save up display space when simulating iPad's retina display. Maybe some day, when MBP, MBA and other Apple's machines will have retina displays, device frame will be back ;)
Note: if someone proves me wrong and we can have device frame, I'll of course mark his/her answer as correct one :)
This page explain it all:
http://iphonedev.tv/blog/2014/2/25/xcode-fix-show-the-iphone-simulator-skin-on-a-retina-display
Option 1: Turn Off Scaling
If you scale the size of the iPhone simulator to 50% or 75% the skin will not display.
Option 2: Get a Retina Display
No retina display, no iphone frame
Just hitting CMD-1 didn't work for me, nothing happened.
However, after switching repeatedly between CMD-1, CMD-2 and CMD-3 in a quick manner, all of a sudden I got the frame back! Hope it helps others!

iPhone simulator just shows blank grey screen?

I'm trying to learn iOS development, and have run into a problem that has stopped any and all progress. Whenever I build and run my code on the simulator, I just get a blank grey screen! I can't find any help on the subject, so I turn to you wonderful people here. I have no idea what's wrong. Even when I start a new blank project and build/run it, I get a blank grey screen. It seems like something is wrong in xcode that's preventing my MainWindow.xib file to be used.
Like I said, I'm just learning, so I don't have much experience as to how this all works.
Try this: with iOS Simulator active, select Window->Scale->50%. This worked for me after frustrating hours and hours of restarting the computer, reinstalling Xcode, and searching the Web. Turned out there was nothing wrong with iOS Simulator, just that the default Scale of 100% hid all the icons. OS X 10.9.3, Xcode 5.1.1, iOS Simulator 7.1.
Some of the sample project templates (e.g. 'view based application') don't show anything interesting - only a grey screen (bceause it's up to you to actually add something to the view). But if you create a new "Navigation based application" sample project, you'll see a blue nav bar and an empty table in your app.
