Developing a swipe and view change iPhone application - iphone

I am trying to develop an application whose view closely matches with groupon app. User should be able to swipe on the screen and the entire screen changes with top pointer pointing to different tool bar entity.
Any pointer of how to go about it?

Xcode 11 Safe Area Does Not Go FullScreen

Since I am using Xcode 11 I am having problems with the Safe Area. My App is an ArKit- App that uses an ARSCNView. after upgrading to Xcode 11 the safe Are doesn't allow me to display it full screen anymore. Actually all the views in all ViewControllers can't be displayed in full screen. I really don't know where to start. Did anyone experience this kind of behavior?

I unchecked all the necessary boxes I hope. The behavior I still get is this:

There seems to be a view underneath. But I never added one and the inspector doesn't show. This changed with xcode11.
I just found out what happened to my ViewControllers. I am checking for internet connection with a LaunchViewController. The segue from this controller to the next one did not specify "full screen". I still don't know why I have to explicitly tell the segue to do so in Xcode 11. But in the end that solved my problem.

The Safe Area is used as a reference for constraints for views and objects that you want the user to be able to interact with. It is used as a guide during the layout of objects on the screen. If you want to take advantage of the entire screen, constrain your views to the superview (basically the main view of the view controller). This is handy for displaying things like backgrounds on the entire view. Take a look at Apple's human interface guidelines for more info:

Application walkthrough when opened for the first time

How do you setup in your application to show little bubbles with text and block the rest of the screen from being used and only allow a small section / button to be pressed. I am wanting to create a walkthrough to show users how to use the application and where to find things within the application when it is opened for the first time.
I would like to dim the rest of the application except for the part I want them to click on. Is there a framework already with these features?
There's no frameworks that provide this functionality, as far as I know.
One way you could do this though is to have a set of overlay images which you overlay over the whole screen the first time the user goes to that screen. To determine if the user has already been to a screen, I suggest you look at NSUserDefaults. To create the overlay images, I'd make the image the full size of the screen (i.e. 460x320 if you are showing the status bar) and then have transparent sections where you want to "see through" to the element below. Add a gesture recogniser to the overlaid image view to detect a tap and then hide the image and set the flag in NSUserDefaults to make it not happen the next time the user goes to that screen.
If you don't get a better answer, you could look at MAAttachedWindow on the page at this link. It's written for Cocoa, not Cocoa Touch, so you would have to convert it. I am considering doing this myself. You might find it to be worth the trouble, but I haven't looked at every detail, yet, so I couldn't say for sure. There are only tow files that are involved (.m and .h).

Is it window based or view based app?

I need to make an iphone app like USA Free that's in App Store.
Can anybody, please, tell me what kind of app is this (window or view based) and how it is possible to make horizontal slide effect when changing views?

View based just means the project comes with a default class already setup. You can put anything you want in that class. Window based is just if you want to create all the classes your self. Theres not much difference, so it doesn't really matter which you choose as long a you know how to create the horizontal slide effect your going for.

view based iphone development question

I am trying to develop and app that will display a number or text and the user will physically speek the said number or text then touch the number or text and a new window will show another number or text
and this will continue many times
how should i go about developing this?
Brian, first of all you should take a look at UIViewController Class Reference:

This file will help you a lot, you'll know how to manage different view controllers, and it's basically what you need.
Second thing is: to touch the number or text it's OK, but to speak and your app recognize it, it's a little bit harder. I would suggest you to develop the touch control and after you finish with this, maybe you can start to study a way to develop the speakable control.
Third, as a basic model, you should think in instantiate an NSArray with the "right" content, I mean, the content that should be touched to go to next "step".
Create a button with this "right content" and for every touch in the screen you call a method to check if the touch was inside the right button or not.
You can use one UIViewController for each index of this array, or you can use always the same UIViewController and just change the words or numbers on the screen with some custom method.

Switching Between Subviews in iPhone App

So, in an iPhone app I am working on, I've decided that the best way to display all the contents to the user is to have the top part of the screen show some information, and the bottom of the screen show different information. However, the bottom part will change sometimes, so I was working on implementing that.

You see that upon hitting a button, the picker switches over and displays the log. Hitting the same button switches them back, with a pretty animation. I would like to do the same thing in my application. I'm not sure the best way to go about it though...
I was thinking that I would make 2 UIViews, and then would simply flip between them, but I want to get some opinions first on how to do this, and then a push in the right direction.

The 2 UIViews is a good approach. By using the UIView animations functions, you can switch between the Log and the Picker with the desired transition.
