How to prevent test running outside the a SuiteTest - junit4

I've a group of test that must running only from a TestSuite and never directly because they need a resource that is instantiated at the suite setup level
So my test suite is

So When I launch the suite all is fine but when I call maven it try to run the IT_LiquidBaseTest directly and fail.
I still need the dependency injection to get a datasource
Do you've an idea how to prevent maven surefire plugin making this but enable the run of the test suite

You can use org.junit.Assume to test for condition on your suite.

If asumption fails test is not run.

SpringBootTest + JPA + Kafka - context is not loading properly during testing

I have Spring Boot application with kafka and jpa in it. I am using h2 as my in-memory database. For each test class execution, I don't want kafka to come up for each test class. I have 2 test classes, one is KafkaConsumerTest and another one is JPATest. KafkaConsumerTest is annotated with #SpringBootTest and it perfectly loads the entire application and passes all the test. However, for JPATest, I don't want to bring up the entire application and just few desired context to test out JPA related changes. When I do that, it is throwing the following exception.

I tried putting loader as AnnotationConfigContextLoader.class but it gave me the same error. I tried specifying application.yml exclusively using TestPropertyResource but still the same error.

I think I am not able to load the context properly here and application.yml file is not able to pick or parse values here.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this.
I am able to solve the issue. The reason of this issue was spring context was not getting loaded properly for other tests as I was not using #SpringBootTest. How I bypassed the error and also loading the spring boot context only for one time was to create a base class like this.

How do I access DispatcherServlet with MockMvc?

I have a basic SpringMVC Application which is running (and mapping) fine.
Now I wanted to set up my UnitTests with MockMvc to perform get requests and stuff.
But if I run the test there is an AssertionError "Status expected: <200> but was: <404>" and my console gives warning "No mapping found for HTTP request with URI [/] in DispatcherServlet with name ''".
I get the feeling my MockMvc cant communicate with my DispatcherServlet, so how do I define this connection?

So I expected MockMvc to get the location of my DispatcherServlet by default. But it actually doesn't call it for mapping.
I have my "web.xml" and "dispatcher-servlet.xml" located in "WEB-INF" folder and no extra configuration defined.
I got the feeling the problem is based on my project structure, but this is a basic eclipse "Dynamic Web Application", the tests are located in "src/test/java", parallel to "src/main/java".
I appreciate any help, since I spend last 2 hours on reading for solutions but not getting the trick.
After some more time I got things right now:
There is still no way for me to access the dispatcher-servlet.xml in WEB-INF folder. I added a new "config" package to my test-package in parallel to my "controller" test package and put a copy of the dispatcher-servlet.xml in there, called "test-dispatcher-servlet.xml".
Now my test class is able to access this with

Springboot postgres Failed to determine a suitable driver class

I am trying to develop web application using SpringBoot and Postgres Database. However, on connecting to the application, I am getting error "Failed to determine a suitable driver class"
As per advise in older posts, I have tried using driver of different version of jdbc and also tried creating bean for NamedParameterJdbcTemplate manually. I also validated that libraries are present and is accessible from Java code and those are present in classpath. But its still giving the same issue.
I am using gradle to import all jars into build path.

The issue is resolved by creating two beans. Separate bean is created for DataSource and NamedParameterJdbcTemplate.

For me the issue was in a miss-spell for postgresSql
its only one s,
replace

also check the same thing on hibernate dialect,

Had the same problem.
The solution for me was to change application.properties file extension into application.yml
For me the error was
Failed to configure a DataSource: 'url' attribute is not specified and no embedded datasource could be configured.
Reason: Failed to determine a suitable driver class
Action:
Consider the following:
If you want an embedded database (H2, HSQL or Derby), please put
it on the classpath.
If you have database settings to be loaded from a particular profile you may need to activate it (no profiles are currently active).
and the issue was missing profile
so I added the following in the classpath and it worked
spring.profiles.active=dev

I got the same error. It happens when you install sts version 3.
I found the solution to this problem by doing trial & error method.
This error is occured due to the non-availability of the connection between Application Properties & the server. I got to know by changing the port number in the application Properties to 9090, later then while running the application the console showed the default port number 8080.
Thus you should maven clean and maven build your Spring Boot Application.
After the above step, you run your application normally as spring boot application, the database will get connected and the application will get started.

java ee lookup ejbs from from different app

Java EE Tutorial is not helpful at all. Internet search was underwhelming.
I have an EJB module that is deployed to glassfish by itself. It has #Local and #Remote annotated iterfaces which are both implemented by the concrete class.
Then i have a REST resource that needs to get a reference to that ejb module and invoke some methods.
Can you give me a barebones, simple example of how that is done? I mean, i can't even inject SessionContext into my rest app, as it crashes... Please, keep it simple.
The ejb should just have a:

Alright, i figured it out. Using NetBeans, but probably applicable to Eclipse. Server - glassfish
Create webapp, an EJB -> call EJB from webapp. All these run inside the same server as separate modules.
First: create an EJB module, it will be deployed on its own:

Now, from Project Properties of your webapp, you need to:
1) add the ejb jar file to Libraries so it shows in the Compile tab. I used the "Add project" button
2) Build -> Packaging: add the ejb jar file to WAR content. I used "Add file/folder", where i navigated to NetBeans projects / the EJB module / build / dist
note: you may experience an error when trying to deploy the ejb, or redeploy it. Error name is: java.lang.RuntimeException: Error while binding JNDI name main.RemoteInterface#main.RemoteInterface for EJB RemoteBean . Skipping the vague explanation, to cure it, you need to execute a command in glassfish:
asadmin set server.ejb-container.property.disable-nonportable-jndi-names="true"
Now, you can compile the webapp and deploy it. Should work.
At the end it's that simple. I swear i've eaten the WHOLE ejb section in glassfish tutorial and nowhere do they tell you this stuff. It's so annoying.

arquillian persistence extension doesn't work

I'm trying to get my webservice tested. This webservice uses ejb with jpa to retrieve its data. So i want to use the arquillian extension to get this done.

My test data never gets loaded. I even tried with a wrongly formatted yml file, but even then i get no error.
The problem is with your test run mode. When you define your #Deployment with the attribute testable=false, all tests are run in the client mode, i.e. they're not run in-container.
The Arquillian Persistence Extension (as of 1.0.0.Alpha5) does not support running tests in client mode; only in-container tests are supported for now. Support for client mode tests in APE may come in a future release.

U're specifying the Datasource which is defined in the server.
In client mode, test cases are run outside the Container(ie. Other JVM)
So that only persistence extension can not make use of data source and hence you can not use arquillian persistence extension client mode.
If there is anyway to specify jdbc url instead of datasource name in arquillian.xml file.Then u may use persistence extension
