I am having trouble grouping certain results in a work in progress report that arranges by start date, I have grouped using fixed values before but because the dates keep moving I am unsure what to do.
The start date is WIP_Schedule.Start_Date
the groups I am trying to create are:
[Group1] Overdue = the current date has passed the start date.
[Group2] (Yet to be named) = the current date 2 week period prior to the start date
[Group3] To Do = the current date after the two week period prior to the start date.
I am after a works instruction on how to achieve this.
I know this isn't a lot of information, if you require any more please ask.
Thanks,
Daniel
This is a pretty straightforward requirement, so you should be able to figure it out by searching the web. However, I'll give you part of the answer and hopefully you can figure it out.
Start by creating a formula to figure out the status of the date.
If {WIP_Schedule.Start_Date} > current date then "Overdue"
Else......
Then you can group based on that formula. All you have to do is figure out the rest of the formula.

I have created a simple generic inquiry that shows some data after joining two tables. I am now struggling to implement a condition that should make the result only contain rows where a date field is equal to yesterday date.
I am a bit annoyed as Acumatica has created the method `today()` neatly, but not a `yesterday()` or `tomorrow()`.
Does anyone have a good solution that they care to share?
Help is much appreciated,
Cheers.
P.s
I have made this very hackish solution that somewhat works, but breaks between change in month or year.
=CStr(Year(Today()))+CStr(Month( Today() ))+CStr( Day(Today())-1)
Okay, so I found the solution to my problem!
I read that Acumatica is coded C# and.NET which made me think of how adding dates is done there. You utilise the DateAdd(date, interval, number) under the time tab to create relative changes to date.
In this case, the date is the time source from where you want to change, interval is in which interval/dimension you wanna move, for example, 'd' is for days. You can find more prefixes here: crosspost. Lastly, number is how much you want to change in the interval, in my case -1.
TLDR; Use DateAdd(Today(), 'd', -1) to get the previous date in relation to the current date.
You can simply write Equals to #Today-1 for Yesterday like below:
Power BI novice here. I have multiple reports which require date filtering by week. I can sometimes get the data to display with my Week column using dates from a column in the same table.
I thought building a Week column based on the date column would result in an easy to use visual. The week column is calculated by:
WeekYear = IF(
FORMAT(WEEKNUM(START.[Date],1)-1,"00"="00",
"Wk53-" & YEAR(START.[Date])-1,
"Wk" & FORMAT(WEEKNUM(START.[Date],1)-1,"00") & "-" & YEAR(START.[Date]))
This results in an x-axis displaying weeks in this format: Wk52-2019. If the underlying data of column STARTis in the proper datetime format, what could be the issue?
I noticed data on the visual which is not filtered for a date range display without issue. Trying to filter with DATESINPERIOD or other DAX date filters caused calculated measures to not display or break the model. I know a lot of references state having a separate calendar table is critical and I suppose I don't fully understand. Thanks in advance.
If you are trying to create the week in date format, then you can use the following calculation:
Week = Table[Start] - WEEKDAY(Table[Start],2)+1
This returns the Monday date of the week, if you want other days you can adjust the calculation accordingly.
If this is not what you are looking for, then you might have to clarify your requirements a bit more.
I have a list that tracks activity for my team. Everyone puts their information in with a Start Date and Due Date. On the first day of every month I pull a report to see what was accomplished in the previous month. Nothing is ever deleted from the list so there are activities from a year ago in there. I would like to export a report of only activities from the previous month. I have tried to create a view for this and another column that would populate yes or no depending on whether the last month fell between the start and end date but neither worked.
ex. for the month of September YES indicates I want it in the report, NO I do not want it in the report
Case 1: Start Date = 9/2/16, Due Date = 9/30/16, YES
Case 2: Start Date = 9/16/16, Due Date = 10/5/16, YES
Case 3: Start Date = 8/7/16, Due Date = 9/14/16, YES
Case 4: Start Date = 6/6/16, Due Date = 7/7/16, NO
Case 5: Start Date = 10/1/16, Due Date = 10/12/16, NO
The calculated column I tried to create as a quick fix for looked like this
=IF(OR([Start Date]>=9/1/16,[Due Date]>=9/1/16),"YES","NO")
I then planned to filter it on YES. I know that's not a good code for the long run but I am by no means a SharePoint expert so I was just trying to figure something out as a sort of band aid.
The problem with your code above Is that you will need to update your formula everytime you want to use the view.
You want a formula similar to the one below so on the first of every month it should relate correctly
=IF(OR((MONTH([Due Date])=MONTH(TODAY())-1),(MONTH([Start Date])=MONTH(TODAY())-1)),"YES","NO")

I want to calculate the number of days passed between past date and a current date. My past date is in the format dd/mm/yyyy format. I have used below mentioned formulas but giving the proper output.
=DAYS360(A2,TODAY())
=MINUS(D2,TODAY())
In the above formula A2 = 4/12/2012 (dd/mm/yyyy) and I am not sure whether TODAY returns in dd/mm/yyyy format or not. I have tried using 123 button on the tool bar, but no luck.
The following seemed to work well for me:
=DATEDIF(B2, Today(), "D")
DAYS360 does not calculate what you want, i.e. the number of days passed between the two dates – see the end of this post for details.
MINUS() should work fine, just not how you tried but the other way round:
=MINUS(TODAY(),D2)
You may also use simple subtraction (-):
=TODAY()-D2
I made an updated copy of #DrCord’s sample spreadsheet to illustrate this.
Are you SURE you want DAYS360? That is a specialized function used in the
financial sector to simplify calculations for bonds. It assumes a 360 day
year, with 12 months of 30 days each. If you really want actual days, you'll
lose 6 days each year.

Since this is the top Google answer for this, and it was way easier than I expected, here is the simple answer. Just subtract date1 from date2.
If this is your spreadsheet dates
A B
1 10/11/2017 12/1/2017
=(B1)-(A1)
results in 51, which is the number of days between a past date and a current date in Google spreadsheet
As long as it is a date format Google Sheets recognizes, you can directly subtract them and it will be correct.
To do it for a current date, just use the =TODAY() function.
=TODAY()-A1
While today works great, you can't use a date directly in the formula, you should referencing a cell that contains a date.
=(12/1/2017)-(10/1/2017) results in 0.0009915716411, not 61.
I used your idea, and found the difference and then just divided by 365 days. Worked a treat.
=MINUS(F2,TODAY())/365
Then I shifted my cell properties to not display decimals.
If you are using the two formulas at the same time, it will not work...
Here is a simple spreadsheet with it working:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AiOy0YDBXjt4dDJSQWg1Qlp6TEw5SzNqZENGOWgwbGc
If you are still getting problems I would need to know what type of erroneous result you are getting.
Today() returns a numeric integer value: Returns the current computer system date. The value is updated when your document recalculates. TODAY is a function without arguments.
The following worked for me. Kindly note that TODAY() must NOT be the first argument in the function otherwise it will not work.
=DATEDIF( W2, TODAY(), "d")
Today() does return value in DATE format.
Select your "Days left field" and paste this formula in the field
=DAYS360(today(),C2)
Go to Format > Number > More formats >Custom number format and select the number with no decimal numbers.
I tested, it works, at least in new version of Sheets, March 2015.
I am using Objective-C within X-code.
I am iterating through a dictionary which contains a date value as one of it's keys. All I want to do is get an array of all the distinct dates so I can use them in a table, as headers. I just plan on
iterating the dictionary and adding dates to a mutable array each time I encounter a new date.
I must set previous date to new date for comparisons to work and I am having a very difficult time figuring out how to set one date equal to another date.
This seems like it should be such a simple thing to do and I am trying to avoid converting the dates to strings first - but if that's what I have to do, then so be it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Gerry O.
If you know the time offset is same as GMT, you could do it by dividing the date's timestamp by 86400 seconds (or three more 0s in milliseconds) and comparing those. If a time offset is there, add or subtract by 3600 seconds per hour before you divide them. But then again, leap years and seconds would break that...
Most languages have libraries support extracting the year, date, month, etc. They take everything into account, usually.
In Objc, you can get a NSDateComponents from NSCalendar's components:fromDate: method. After this, you can call the components to see exactly what each component (I suggest year, month, day) is.
I think you want code to compare dates and You need two loops nested.... where in outer loops iterates with conditional inner loop... In inner loop you just check that previously you had the same date or not...
please go through the below post on same site...
How to compare two dates in Objective-C
hope you will get solution... else clarify your question....
