App Name availability in different languages - iphone

We are working on creating an iOS app and we are trying to reserve an app name on itunes connect. In itunes connect the first option to select is the default language and the problem we running into is if we trying to look for the app name with default language as "English", I get the error message that app name has already been used but if I change the default language option to "UK English" it doesn't give us that message anymore.
I am really confused because if the app name is already been used it should be for both English and UK English. I am not sure if I register my app name with UK English will i run into any problems later?
Thank you in advance.

App descriptive caption

I could not find any data on the documentation ,or on the net, about the descriptive caption of an app in the store .
I know i can add more words to the app name to describe it , but i don't understand, does Apple show on the device ONLY the first words before the : ?
i don't want to get the .... after the app name on the device because the name is too long..
I am trying to understand, if the words before : or - , is taken out on the device ,without getting the "..."
Thanks .
The descriptive caption and the app name shown in the device are different, and they are introduced in different places.
The app name is introduced in the Xcode project. You can see whether the complete app name will be shown by compiling your project and running it either in the simulator or device. If the ... appear, then you need to shorten the device app name.
The app descriptive caption, as you name it, is introduced in iTunes Connect and may be totally different from the device app name. It is only shown in iTunes and doesn't have anything to do with the app name shown in the device.
Sorry for the repetitive way of this response, but I have made all efforts so it is absolutely clear.
Finally, as an example, imagine your app name is The Best App in the World. So that is the name your app has, but it doesn't fit in the device! So the name you gave it in your Xcode project could perfectly be TBAITW, or BestApp, etc.

Will iphone app get rejected if metadata uses an unsupported language?

If the app title and description is in an unsupported language (e.g. Philippino), but the language chosen in iTunes connect is in English (because there is no options to select Philippino), will the app get rejected?
I submitted a few applications in Polish, with English selected as a language, and they were accepted.
Submit it! What's the worst that could happen? It'd probably be metadata rejected which means there isn't a problem with the app, just with the description etc.

iOS: Setting primary language for app when localizing

I have built an app for swedish language only. Now I have added multilanguage support (english uk/us, german, spanish) and would like to submit the app to all App Stores in the world.
The problem is that I have chosen swedish as the primary language in Itunes Connect when creating my account.
Reading several threads about this I have come to the conclusion that if I submit the app now, the default language will be swedish for languages I haven't localized. This is a huge problem since there seems to be no way of changing this primary language.
Anyone know what can be done?
On the upside: When using a link in Itunes Connect "Version summary" I can see the language is in english when for example choosing "Slovenia" or any other country that hasn't been localized... Can I trust this really? Not according to several forum threads, example:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1678830?start=0&tstart=0
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1657193?start=0&tstart=0
Thanks
I have now released the app and tried out several different App Stores and it seems like it does take english as the default langauge, not swedish which I have as primary.
This goes against what has been said before in forums and such. Also, Apple called me and we talked about this, but the support person wasn't sure why it worked either :)
For future people coming here, here is how it works for me now:
-I have localized in Itunes Connect for german, spanish and english.
In these App Stores the language will be displayed correctly for each country.
-I have NOT localized for Canada. If I add the app to this app store the language will be in swedish (your primary language).
-A language that is not possible to localize, like estonian, will in fact display my english app description in the Estonian app store. This could have something to do with the "Localization native development region" as Digital Robot stated as a comment.
have you tried this key on the Info.plist? To force iTC to see english as the default language.

Iphone app for german app-store (localization)

i recently published an iphone app using monotouch to the market.
It's currently in the waiting for review status.
Today i found out that when clicking on the button "View in appstore", the following happens:
Itunes openes with the following message (Your app is in the US-Market, click to change your default ....)
"Your app is not available in the us market".
I'm irritated about this messages and unsure if i did anything wrong because i did not use the official localization. My localization is completely build in C# and does not use "lproj" files.
So i DO NOT have any +en.lproj or de.lproj folders in my app.bundle.
The binary details in Itunes-Connect says the the following: Localizations: ("en")
Does this mean my app will not be available in the german market if it gets approved, even though my default language in Itunes Connect is "german" and i have added all the app-details in german?
How does Itunes Connect decide in which markets the app is available?
The problem is that i don't want to publish a new binary and risk waiting another +5days, because the app should already be in the market (customers ...)
Just the be clear: The app does have english and german localization strings and will show the correct ones depending on the user-language -> but it's all written in C# ...
Does this mean my app will not be available in the german market if it gets approved, even though my default language in Itunes Connect is "german" and i have added all the app-details in german?
How does Itunes Connect decide in which markets the app is available?
Find under Manage Your Applications -> "YourAppName" -> Rights & Pricing -> "specific stores". You can change all territories in there.
As long you app is not reviewed yet -the app store link does not work.

How can I get access to the name of a deleted app in itunesconnect (app store)?

I had to delete my app in itunesconnect (incorrect Bundle ID Suffix) and now it says the name is already being used, how can I get it back?
The (?) beside the App Name says: "The name of your app as it will appear on the App Store."
So now I've got a game called X and all my art says X... but now I can't actually add a game to the store called X!?!
I guess maybe I'll have to call it "X - Insanely Insane!"
You could create a new app with the same app name if you change the default language. I just had the same issue as you and I changed default language from English to UK English and everything went smoothly.

Apple gets the best answer:
Hello Josh,
Thank you for contacting Apple Developer Support regarding iTunes Connect.
Please know that it is not possible to reuse a SKU or App Name in the same account again and you will not be able to restore your app once deleted.
