I am using group chat with open fire.
i can able to send messages but how to send file to group with Smack library.
i can able to send file to single user with below but i don't know how to send to group chat (MUC) so all users in room will receive that file
OutgoingFileTransfer transfer = manager.createOutgoingFileTransfer("usre2#myHost/Smack");
Use XEP-0066: Out of Band Data - this is small extension to standard groupchat message with url and description. Other users will receive link to the file. Smack library does not have standard implementation, but it is very simple.

I'm developing an instant messaging app on android with SMACK library that uses OPENFIRE as a xmpp server. I want to get last message of each conversation from MessageArchiveManager in openfire server that was enabled by MONITORING SERVICE plugin(based on XEP-0313).
I know that mamManager.queryArchive() can gets the messages that related to specific jid or can get a specific number of messages that exists in server(with no custom sepration), but we suppose that smack doesn't knows which JIDs has conversation on server!
One solution is that send request per each ROSTER entry, but it has heavy cost when it contains numerous contacts and perhaps we have a conversation with anybody out of Roster. Is there any way or plugin or another extension to do this?
I'm writing a program that should send emails to multiple users with content extracted from an excel spreadsheet. I know how to do this using the net/smtp package in Go, but I would like to know if it's possible to send an email with the sender being a google group (i.e googlegroup#gmail.com) instead of my email without resorting to using the gmail API? Currently I have a working program that can log in through an email and password, which is then used for auth credentials, but seeing as that google groups don't have the same kind of interface I'm not quite sure how to change it so emails are sent from a group instead of an individual user.
Each google group should have an email address associated with it. golang-nuts is golang-nuts#googlegroups.com for example. Any mail sent to that should be posted to the group, assuming it is from a member of the group.
In order to send from your own gmail account, you can use gmail's outgoing smtp feature with the net/smtp package. Configuration is explained better on this digital ocean post
Hi I am developing a chat application using XMPP. Consider the situation in the chat application, When User A send messages to User B and if the User B is offline at that time XMPP will store the sms as offline message and it will send that messages to User B when it comes online. This is working here. But I want to send this offline messages from XMPP as push to User B. I have done lots of searching and I came in a conclusion that we need to send the offline messages from XMPP server to our backend server and from there we need to send that message as push. But how to do this, please help me
It is possible to write a custom module to do that with ejabberd API.
What you need is to use mod_offline_hook (see ejabberd Events and Hooks) to be called when the server wants to store a message in offline store.
You can read mod_offline module for inspiration.
I am trying to find out if it's possible to send a XMPP IM message to a room instead of individuals.
Everything you need should be defined in the XEP-0045 extension standard.
For everything else you have to ask more specifically.
Sending message in group and sending individual message is different thing. Both handles in different ways. Although! You can send message in group using your room's object i.e. XMPPRoom (Specifically for iOS Client) as bellow:
[XMPPRoom sendMessage:#"Your Message"];
For more information on XMPP MUC follow XEP-0045 doccument.
In my current project I want to communicate with people in a XMPP Multi User Chat. But also I need to send data to all participants in the conference, but this data should not be seen as a message.
Is it possible to send data (strings) to all participants in a MuC channel by not using a normal chat message?
I'm using Smack API, and I assume, that all participants use my program.
Thanks in advance!
The solution is to use a normal message (with type="groupchat"), but do not include a <body>.
I do not know how this is done in Smack, or if it is possible (I hope it is). An example message would be:
<message to="room#conference.server" type="groupchat">
<yourdata xmlns="your-xmlns">
<anything-you-want-here/>
</yourdata>
</message>
XMPP clients will ignore this message, as it has no <body> tag.
