I'm using elasticabundle for symfony2 and I want to sort results I'm seeking by distance
I'm new to elasticsearch and I don't know how I can start
the query I'm using :

here is what I did following the example as provided by Dimitris Tsarouhas
The following setup allows to filter by keyword, order by id, and add all sort of other filtering using the $boolQuery ->addMust($yourfilter) formula.
We fetch the keyword as posted by a form. This is $data['query'] and by default we use it to perform a _all search, thus searching throughout all the fields listed in our config.yml file. To perform this search, we use the QueryString object, as this allows us to use wildcards.
We then look if exists the variable $data['status'], which comes through a dropdown select box (please note the use of strtolower(), without which the query wouldn't work - either that or you set up your own case-insensitive analyzer). If so, we use it to filter our results.
By default, we also want to narrow down our search and pick up only active users.

Remember that to be able to perform actions on fields (searching, sorting, etc) these haveto be included in your config.yml. Of course, this would cause the field to be automatically picked up when searching generally onto a certain entity. So, if you need to avoid this, but you still need certain fields to be available to elastica. just define it as showed below:

I have in my index a list of object, each of them has an objectID value.
On some search, i want to filter OUT a certain number of them, using there objectID.
For the moment it works with one value as a string, i would like to know how to do for multiple value.
filters = 'NOT objectID:' + objectIDToFilter;
This work for one object, what can i do to apply this for an array of ObjectID. because :
filters = 'NOT objectID:' + arrayObjectID;
does not work.
I was thinking of generating a huge string with an arrayId.map with all my 'NOT objectID:1 AND NOT objectID: 2 ...' but i wanted to know if there is a cleaner way to do it.
I unfortunately misunderstood the line in algolia doc :
Array Attributes: Any attribute set up as an array will match the filter as soon as one of the values in the array match.
This apparently refers to the value itself in Algolia and not the filter
So i did not found a solution on algolia doc, i went for the long string, hope there is no limits on how much filter we can add on a query (found nothing about that).
Here is what i did if someone need it :

If you need to add multiple but don't have a starting point like i do, you can't start the query with an AND , a solution i found to bypass that:

if (i > 0) filters = filters + ` AND NOT objectID:${blockedByUser}`;

There is probably a cleaner solution, but this work. If you have found other solution for that problems i'll be happy to see :)
Is it possible to get ElasticSearch document fields inside of loaded AR records?

In this case I want to avoid additional computation of total_price after getting response from ES. The solution that I currently see is to include the relationship and run total_price computation for each record, which is not so optimal way to perform this operation, as I see it.

Could you please tell if it is possible to mix ES document fields into AR loaded record?
As far as I'm aware it isn't possible to get a response that merges the document fields into the loaded record.
Usually I prefer to completely rely on the data in the indexed document where possible (using load: false as a search option), and only load the AR record(s) as a second step if necessary. For example:

Additionally, it may be helpful to retrieve the document stored in the ES index for a specific record, which I would normally do by defining the following method in your Product class:

You can use select: true and the with_hit method to get the record and the search document together. For your example:

I'm working on super simple search across multiple fields in a document to see if any of them has a single value. (Note: some fields are using regex to search if value is contained in string). Using query builder I constructed the following.

Through Query builder I don't get any results, however if I construct the query myself and run it in an admin app like genghis, I get the expected single document result.

This project is a zend2 app that was already using doctrine and mongo. I'm not much of an expert with mongo in general so I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong inside of Query Builder that i'm not getting the same result as executing the query directly. I can't find any info on stack or the query builder docs that gives any extra clues for the multiple addOrs syntax either.
Any help or direction would be really appreciated, in the most basic form I need query builder to get a document where association = x and ( field1 = val or field2 = value).

Really unsure what the exact issue was with the above, but after playing around, switching the order of query builder around fixes the problem.

When I use mongo-ruby-driver and I insert new document it returns generated '_id':

After inserting/saving, the returned object will have a property inserted_id which is a BSON::ObjectId:

From this issue:
It would be nice, but unfortunately Mongo doesn't give us anything
back when inserting (since it's fire and forget), and when in safe

Your best bet would be to generate the id before inserting the document:
document = { _id: Moped::BSON::ObjectId.new, name: "example" }
id = document[:_id]
I am creating a search, where the user can both choose an interval and search on a term in the same go.
This is however giving me trouble, since I have up until have only used the usual text query.
I am wondering how I am to go about using both a NumericRangeQuery and a regular term query. Usually I would use a query below:

you can create a single query that is a BooleanQuery combining all the conditions you want to be met.
