Can't create new sites and pages in Teamsite - content-management-system

I've just installed Teamsite on Linux CentOS 6.5. I've used Silent Installer and mostly default properties (install.properties), I logged in as a root user and everything seems to be good but the problem occurs when I'm trying to create New site or New page. I click as a usual File -> ... and there is only New File, New Branch etc. but there is no New Page or New Site button. Do you know what could went wrong during the installation or what can I do to "restore" this buttons and create sites/pages? Thx.

Ensure you are under a Workarea. Create a workarea under a branch and give it a try.
If you are already under a Workarea, then this would the issue with your license. Have you generated right licence from the official license website from HP Autonomy.
The Features are tied to License what you have. Just to cross verify if you do not see SiteMap TAB next to Content and Workflow ( just above file menu ) that indicated you are missing a full licence.
Please generate new licence and try deleting old and start Teamsite server issuing iwreset -a command.
Let me know if this helps.

AppSrv01 doesnt have write permission

i know that the default profile name when i installed websphere was Appsrv01, I want to create my own AppSrv02 but the location of my IBM Websphere was in C: and i dont have any write permission, i dont have any admin rights also..
using COMMAND-LINE, I want to make my profile folder to be writable, so that my newly created AppSrv02 will be list down in the profile names in my RAD.
Please help me. Thanks
So that's your problem. In order to have a usable profile in WAS, your user must have write permissions. See this link from WAS ND infocenter, it applies to WAS standalone too.
http://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSAW57_8.5.5/com.ibm.websphere.installation.nd.doc/ae/tpro_manage_nonroot.html
If you cannot change the write permissions to this profile, you'll need to create your own. For this, you can either use WAS Profile Management Tool, WAS CLI or you can create your profile using the Configure profiles... link in the WAS server creation wizard you posted. I'd use the RAD way because RAD validates, within the IDE, the proper permissions that you need to create and use the profile within RAD.
First check whether you have admin rights or not if your using User/Guest profile, by creating any new folder in C drive where IBM WAS is installed.
If you have Admin rights, than right click on RAD run as administrator. It should work fine.
If Profile doesnt show up in drop down, Configure new profile and try checking that way.
If you dont have Admin rights better install RAD in any local drive other than C
Running Eclipse with Admin rights and removing the read-only tick for the AppServXX folder/WAS folder couldn't help me... cause I copied the WAS server from another PC :). So for those of you who want to move / migrate your development environment:
I did a search inside the copied WAS, Eclipse and the project's workspace folder for their old paths (with Total Commander, feed the results into a list) and dragged all the files (except the log ones) into my editor (NotePad++) and did a replace in all open documents for the new paths. It's a bit lucrative, but it took only 10 minutes for me and afterwards the WAS server in Eclipse showed the correct profile and it also did start up well.

How do I unstage a Moodle update

After logging in to my Moodle as admin, I clicked the link to update to the latest available Moodle version. However, the new version won't work with my hosting site's MySQL version. Simple enough, I just selected the cancel button. Nope. The cancel button does nothing. Additionally, whenever I log in as admin, I am redirected to the update confirmation page where I can't actually perform the update or cancel the action. The web hosting service restored a previous version from backup, but the very next time I logged in as admin I was right back at the same update page.
Is there any way to unstage/delete/remove the "I want to update my Moodle" flag/action/request/whatever from the Moodle database/data files?
Thank you for your help!
When you download the new version of Moodle, it overwrites the existing files. You need to move all your files from the Moodle code directory (NOT your Moodle data directory) into another directory, then download a clean copy of your previous version of Moodle (from Moodle.org) and place it in your original directory.
Once that is done, you will need to copy across your config.php file, along with any extra plugins you had installed.
After that, you should be able to log back into your site and it should be back to running as normal again.
Before you do any future upgrades, there is a compatibility check built into Moodle itself (I think it is somewhere under site admin > server, but I don't have a site open at the moment to check). It is worth looking at that before downloading the upgrade.

After updating unity to latest version, the unity launcher is blank

Yesterday I updated my unity to latest version..
Then the launcher is blank.
And when i open any .unity file.. It opens the editor with a error.
Error loading file:///C%3A%2FUsers%2FBuckyDroidz%2FAppData%2FRoaming%2FUnity%2FPackages%2Fnode_modules%2Funity-editor-home%2Fdist/index.html#/login
Unity is still working and running the project.. But unity launcher is not working
After searching on google I found a fix. I mean I have to add some file in package folder.. But there was a link to download those files and the link is dead...
Help Me!!
Looking at your SO username, it looks like this is a problem with your computer username. The D in your name is probably "Ď" or some other character and Unity is having problem reading that file path(C:/Users/username/AppData/Roaming/Unity/Packages/node_modules/unity-editor-home/dist/index.html#/login). This causes license check to fail.
Two things to try:
Method 1.
Change your username
A.Change your name to valid English characters
B.Uninstall and install Unity again to recognize that change.
If this does not fix your problem, do method 2.
Method 2
Do manual Activation
A.Disconnect your internet/wifi.
B.Open Unity. Go to Help -> Manage License
C.Click on Manual Activation.
D.Click on Save License or Save License Request(Depends on Unity version)
E.Connect to your internet/wifi.
F.Go to https://license.unity3d.com/manual then upload that saved license there. Follow steps to on the website to create a license on that website. Make sure to chose free unity version as the license type. When everything is done, you will be able to download a key file. Download that file.
G.Disconnect your internet/wifi again.
H.Open Unity. Go to Help -> Manage License
I.Click on Manual Activation.
J.Click on Load License then choose the file you downloaded from step F.
You can now connect to your internet/wifi again. Restart Unity and test if the problem is still there.
This is a issue with 2017.2 as well
To fix
go to C:\Program Files\Unity\Editor\Data\Resources\Packages
You can see 4 tgz files
unity-editor-home.0.8.30.tgz
unityeditor-cloud-hub-0.0.15.tgz
unityeditor-collab-history.0.6.14.tgz
unityeditor-collab-toolbar.0.7.15.tgz
Use an unarchive program (I used 7-zip file manager) to open each one of these and extract contents (dist folder and package.json file) to your Roaming folder
C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Unity\Packages\node_modules
After extract, the folder looks like this..
..\AppData\Roaming\Unity\Packages\node_modules\unity-editor-home
..\AppData\Roaming\Unity\Packages\node_modules\unityeditor-cloud-hub
..\AppData\Roaming\Unity\Packages\node_modules\unityeditor-collab-history
..\AppData\Roaming\Unity\Packages\node_modules\unityeditor-collab-toolbar
and unity-editor-home like below (one level subfolders shown)
..\AppData\Roaming\Unity\Packages\node_modules\unity-editor-home\dist
..\AppData\Roaming\Unity\Packages\node_modules\unity-editor-home\package.json
..\AppData\Roaming\Unity\Packages\node_modules\unity-editor-home\README.md

How to distribute Eclipse Update Site

I can't find a free repository allowing to distribute Eclipse Update Site.
The main requirement is that it should provide access to raw content so that Eclipse can use the URL to retrieve all the binaries of my projects.
GitHub provided access to raw url but it seems it stopped.
Do you know if bitbucket does it? any different solution?
Actually, you can host an eclipse update site easily on github using raw url. I know because I have done it recently and it works.
It is true that you get a 404 when you try to access the repos 'raw' directory. However, that is actually not a problem because when you use the Eclipse (or Marketplace) installer to install something from an update site the installer does not access the folder directly. Rather it will only access files like 'catalog.xml'. This means that if you point the Eclipse installer at your raw update-site folder then it will be able to read the contents of the site without any problem.
Here is an example:
https://github.com/kdvolder/thirdparty-p2-repo/tree/4bb37ca4de6cd001f400c2913421b8c4b49538e1/target/repository
The corresponding raw url is this:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/kdvolder/thirdparty-p2-repo/4bb37ca4de6cd001f400c2913421b8c4b49538e1/target/repository
Yes, that will give a 404 when you click it. But that is okay, just open "Help >> Install New Software" and paste the link into the "Work with" field of the dialog and it works fine:
It works because raw urls like this one are all the installer needs:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/kdvolder/thirdparty-p2-repo/4bb37ca4de6cd001f400c2913421b8c4b49538e1/target/repository/category.xml
Github also allows this. You need to create github page and upload your p2 repository there. On the website github pages is explained how to achieve that. Just scroll and the steps will appear on the page (fancy javascript). For your project there is a second repository, where you have to put your repository.
I prefer to use sourceforge for the update site of my Eclipse projects. I recently published a blog post detailing all the steps to achieve that http://www.lorenzobettini.it/2015/01/publish-an-eclipse-p2-repository-on-sourceforge-with-rsync/

Wait on the database engine recovery handle failed

I have been trying to install sql server 2008 r2 at my local machine and at the end of the installation i got this error "Wait on the database engine recovery handle failed". The Wizard shows progress in which some of the components including Database Engine could be not be installed.
I need some help related to this.
This issue can pop up for a few different scenarios. Do check the logs for error.
One of the scenario when this error can occur if a Microsoft® system folder is either missing or lacking the correct permissions.
Please use the following steps:
1.Click the Windows® Start button and click Run.
2.Type %appdata% and click OK.
3.Browse to the Microsoft folder.
4.Locate the Protect folder to assign the correct permissions:
Note: If the Protect folder is missing from the Microsoft folder, you will need to create it in this location by right-clicking and selecting Folder. Ensure to name the folder "Protect."
1.Right-click on the Protect folder and select Properties.
2.Click on the Security tab. Ensure the System and your logged on Windows User account is listed and both have Full Control.
3.Click Add to begin adding the accounts. For Windows Vista®/Windows 7, you will need to click Edit first.
4.In the "Enter the object names to select" box, type the word System, and press Enter on your keyboard. The System account should be listed
now. Select System from the user names list and select Full Control
under the Allow column. Click Apply .
5.Follow steps 3-4 to find, add and assign Full Control permissions also for you logged on Windows User account.
6.Click OK
.
Attempt to install SQL Server 2008 R2.
Even if this does not solve your problem, you take a look at the msdn blog that provides a workaround for the install scenario and see if this fixes it?
