Locked pom.xml causes git branch checkout failure in eclipse

I'm using Eclipse with Egit/Github and Maven on Windows. Often but not always, when checking out a branch an error message is thrown indicating the pom.xml file could not be renamed which causes the checkout to fail. The file is locked by Windows, preventing the rename. Using Handle as suggested below shows Eclipse has the lock. Colleagues don't see this problem. I've installed an entirely different instance of Eclipse and cloned the repository to a different location and have the same results.
This all causes a great mess in my repository because Git does not have a rollback function on the checkout failure. All of the files from the go-to branch were copied in but git keeps the come-from branch as checked out. All of the files that differ between the branches are shown as modified. Cleanup takes a bit of work.
I'm having the same issue.
Unfortunately, I'm unable to switch to Bluemix set of tools.
In the meantime, waiting for IBM to fix this issue, I was able to work around this issue by performing manually Garbage Collection in Eclipse.
This is easily done by enabling GC button in status bar as show here:
Eclipse: Garbage Collector Button
Press it, and locks on pom.xml are released!
In the fog of eclipse plug-ins I was not able to find the exact answer, but this was the solution.
The problem was in the IBM Websphere and Bluemix plugins. There are several options for installing those plugins which results in different content.
From the Eclipse Marketplace:
The bad set came from Eclipse Marketplace from "IBM Liberty Developer Tools for Oxygen"
The good set came from "IBM Eclipse Tools for Bluemix Oxygen"
The problem plug-ins are these:
IBM Bluemix Tools 1.0.2.v20171004_2101 com.ibm.wdt.bluemixtools.feature.feature.group IBM
OSGi Application Development Tools 17.0.3000.v20171004_2101 com.ibm.osgi.wdt.feature.feature.group IBM
Web Development Tools 17.0.3000.v20171004_2101 com.ibm.wdt.webtools.top.feature.feature.group IBM
Web Services Development Tools 17.0.3000.v20171004_2101 com.ibm.wdt.ast.ws.tools.feature.feature.group IBM
The ones that work are these:
IBM Bluemix Tools 17.0.3000.v20171004_2330 com.ibm.cftools.ext.feature.feature.group IBM
WebSphere® Application Server Liberty Tools 1.0.2.v20171004_2330 com.ibm.cftools.server.tools.feature.feature.group IBM
These two came with either package, but are required in a websphere/bluemix installation.
Cloud Foundry Tools Core 1.2.3.v201709130027 org.eclipse.cft.server.core.feature.feature.group Eclipse Tools for Cloud Foundry
Cloud Foundry Tools UI 1.0.10.v201709130027 org.eclipse.cft.server.ui.feature.feature.group Eclipse Tools for Cloud Foundry
As of this writing this link has the current information on installing Bluemix / Websphere:

What versions of Eclipse RTC Plugin does BlueMix DevOps support?

My team currently uses BlueMix Devops and would like to download the latest version of the Eclipse RTC plugin (ver 6) into my eclipse environment because it has a couple bug fixes that would really help me.
What RTC Plugin versions are supported against BlueMix DevOps?
What version of RTC is installed on BlueMix DevOps?
When can we expect version 6 of Eclipse RTC to be supported by the BlueMix DevOps?
Thank you!
Currently it is based on RTC 5.0.2 and it supports RTC Client 5.0.2
No idea about plans to upgrade.

Configure Eclipse GIT (eGit) to Team foundation server

Anybody know how to connect eclipse to tfs express via GIT, or even if it is possible?
The only help link I have seen in tfs express was this one.
But that one looks to be more aimed at the online version of tfs instead of express.
Yes it's supported. The TFS express is the free version of standard TFS. Here is the detailed introduction.
From OP:
The problem was, needed to:
Enable basic authentication on "team foundation server\TFS" in IIS
It is possible to connect tfs to eclipse via git. In order to do this you need to install an eclipse plugin - egit.
Recent versions of Eclipse come with the EGit plugin already installed. However if your version doesn't have it already, you can easily install it. These are steps to install the plugin
Click on Help In the menu bar.
Select MarketPlace
In the searchbox type EGit
click the Install button

Is there any IDE available for old tool SCM?

Is there any IDE available to handle check-in, check-out and code review for old SCM tool CMVC ?
Ex: Eclipse is a famous IDE where in plugins can be installed to work with SCM tools (eg GIT), likewise is there any IDE available for CMVC or any modern tools which supports CMVC?
There are CMVC Plug-Ins available for Eclipse 4.2 and 4.3
However, in order to download the plug ins from IBM you need to contact the IBM Support Desk

How to install from salesforce eclilpse source code

i'm new to salesforce and havn't yet worked in salesforce using eclipse. The situation is such that i have a salesforce app project eclipse source code.
Can any guide me about how to install salesforce app from eclipse.
And which versio of eclipse to use and all??
Any helful links would be appreciated.I'm a complete new bee to salesforce
You can use any recent version of Eclipse with the Force.com plugin, but Salesforce provides a specialized build of eclipse at http://wiki.developerforce.com/page/Force.com_IDE_Installation . You might just want to use that if you don't have any other eclipse needs.
