As I know,
map.project(latlng)
can return a point. However, I've no idea about how to tell whether this point is in the current display area of the map..
Does anyone have ideas about this?
map.getBounds().contains(point);
Returns true if point (LatLng object) is in the map view. See the docs: http://leafletjs.com/reference.html#map-getbounds

I would like to place an image on google maps so that it fits the shape of the country or state that it is placed in. I've been looking in to the GMSGroundOverlay as a potential way of accomplishing this, but I can't figure out an easy way to make the overlay take on the shape of a state/country. I was hoping someone might have a suggestion on how to do this?
Thanks in advance
I am trying to implement the Google Map SDK, and so far I have implemented a marker. I made the marker in a way that it follows as it is located in the center when I move the camera position.
The problem is that I can't zoom in and out while the marker's location is not changing. I would like to make the zooming experience like Uber in which the location does not change.. Thank you for your help.
You can use this line allowScrollGesturesDuringRotateOrZoom to your GMSMapview. It controls whether rotate and zoom gestures can be performed off-center and scrolled around. The default value of this is YES.
mapView.settings.allowScrollGesturesDuringRotateOrZoom = false // NO for obj-c and false for swift
So by setting it by NO/false, you can now perform zooming while the marker location is not moving. For more information, check this thread.
How can I override a double tap onto a LeafletJS map?
I do not want to zoom into the map, I want a custom procedure to start instead.
It's a angular-leaflet-directive within ionic.
Edit:
I was pointed to the doubleClickZoom property (I must have been blind :) ). However, when I set doubleClickZoom = false , the two finger zoom is disabled as well... ? I want to keep two finger zoom, but disable doubleClickZoom. As an alternative, I could go with trippleClickZoom, which is obviously not implemented.
Please consult the documentation and the appropriately-named option doubleClickZoom.
I am displaying bing maps in a metro app. I am drawing both pushpins and polylines on the map but they get drawn on opposite sides of the map which looks very weird. Please look at the following image:
The line and image is being drawn at opposite sides of the map.
Could someone please suggest a solution of this problem.
Can I somehow restrict my view to display each country only once?
So I think one of my other answer might help you out here.
How to show the full map and prevent scrolling in Bing Maps API
You can constrain the map to a certain zoomlevel range and lat/long range, so that you don't see the same coordinates twice. Let me know if you need any further details on how to do this.
I am making an iPhone app for a local college. I am currently trying to take a drawn map of the campus and put pin annotations on it. I also want to be able to show the users current location on this map image. Right now I just have a UIImageView inside of a UIScrollView. It can currently scroll and zoom in/out. How would I go about accomplishing this? I have searched everywhere for an answer and can't seem to find a solution (or have overlooked it). Am I going in the right direction? Thanks for your help.
You would have to come up with a function to translate latitude and longitude into pixel offsets in the image. Assuming the campus is relatively small compared to the Earth (so you can ignore the planet's curvature), this should be a simple matter of determining the coordinates of the four corners of the image and interpolating.
