I am trying to launch online apps but not able to launch them on the emulator. While offline apps (Selendroid test app, Offline Dictionaries etc.) are able to launch on the AVD emulator.
Please let me know What could be the solution.
By strictly guessing, you're trying to install applications with native libraries compiled for arm on an x86 image - which means you have to download the proper APK, or switch to an arm image.
If that's not the case, please add additional information like which image you are using, how you're trying to install the application and what the error is.

I am unable to run the emulator in android studio. I received a "Your cpu does not support required features (VT-x or SVM)" message. Someone told me to try and do what this link states "http://www.howtogeek.com/213795/how-to-enable-intel-vt-x-in-your-computers-bios-or-uefi-firmware/" which led me to a video and I tried following those directions but was unable to because first, there was no HyperV feature in the Windows features section. Second, there was no UEFI Firmware settings icon when I went to advanced settings in set up. How can I proceed from here to enable the VT-x in order for me to be able to use the emulator in Android studios? Thank you so much!!
Okay your cpu does not support is not the same as cannot use emulator you just have to use one that runs x86 images which is in fact GenyMotion...
https://www.genymotion.com/
sign up for free account and when you download you want the full install package with virtualbox included.
and it does support instantrun just like the google android emulators do
You will also find the android studio genymotion plugin at the same site to download and use with android studiio
We know that Blackberry 10 can run Android app. Does somebody tried Telerik Nativescript for Android and make it run for Blackberry 10?
If so, is it possible to explain the steps to be able to do it? Does Webworks gives any help?
Telerik NativeScript for Android does indeed work on BlackBerry OS 10 I've tried on (10.3.2.2474). I'll list some tips to get you started, but please keep in mind that NativeScript doesn't officially support BlackBerry OS.
Deployment with the {N} CLI tool (tns) might be problematic - it produces an apk for the app, but it can't deploy it on the device itself, so you need to transfer it somehow and install it on the device.
Alternatively you can use Telerik AppBuilder to build the app (either version will work - VS plugin, CLI tool, Windows or Web clients) and deploy it on the device via QR code scan and install. However, apk installation is a bit slow process on a BB10, so you may choose to use the NativeScript companion app for development. Deployment to the companion app is done via QR codes - it has an integrated QR code reader - and since no installation is necessary, development cycle is faster. There is a small issue with the app - it may seem to crash on the first run, but you can still find the Sync and Scan buttons in the BlackBerry Hub, which you can use to scan the code and start your app.
Releasing the app in the BlackBerry store is out of my scope, but you can check these documents:
https://developer.blackberry.com/android/documentation/rpkg_with_bb_plugin_for_android_stdio.html
https://developer.blackberry.com/android/documentation/publsh_your_app_to_appworld.html
Make sure you've built the app for release as mentioned.
Let me know if this helps.
Hello I'm creating an Android project using Eclipse the emulator is very slow I tried using the emulator through my phone but it still wont work I have a Kyocera Event and android 4.0
software anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this problem so I can run the emulator through my phone?
Try to use HAXM if you have an Intel processor and a different image of the system rather than ARM. I had similar problem with debugging using my tablet, I would highly recommend HAXM.
Did you enable USB Debugging in your phone settings? And check SDK Manager - Extra - Google USB Driver
I have been using real devices to test my apps, and if you dont know, your device might not be recognized by your IDE even though it is picked up by your computer. The solution, first, click http://developer.android.com/tools/extras/oem-usb.html
scroll down to the bottom, locate the manufaturer of your phone and download the appropriate driver for your device, install it, then, you need to open the "SDK Manager" to download the system images for the platforms you want to test against, you might need to download the "Google USB Driver" in the "Extras" section in "SDK Manager". Or if you want an emulator that is as fast as a real device, consider "Geny Motion", pretty easy to install. You can search for "Geny Motion" through google, shoule be able to see it the first result. Hope this helps.
I wanted to use Instagram on my computer, so I decided to use an Android Virtual Device for that task.
I downloaded the Android SDK and the newest apk for instagram for my computer.
Then I created a new AVD and ran it. After it was booted, I installed the instagram apk using adb install instagram.apk.
It installed smoothly and after clicking the app, it started.
Now here's my problem: From there on nothing works.
When I try to login and I press the login button, nothing happens like there would be no internet connection.
Browsers and other apps using an internet connection work just fine, just instagram doesn't work.
How can I fix this?
I think it has something to do that the android Emulator can't really handle a global proxy.
Therefore hostnames get resolved directly to their IP which violates HTTP 1.1 standarts and the request doesn't get send properly.
To fix this, it is needed to change it so the hostname gets send instead of the IP.
You should try creating an AVD with different settings. More RAM and allowing GPU emulation is a good idea. If you insist on using an AVD and you have an appropriate intel CPU then you can make the emulator run much faster by following these steps. They are a bit complicated, but worth it if you want the emulator to run quicker.
I typically try to avoid using the Android emulator while I am developing apps. It has its uses, but it tends to be slow and doesn't have all of the capabilities of actual devices.
As an alternative to using an AVD, I would recommend downloading and installing BlueStacks. BluesStacks was written from the ground up to allow running Android apps on your Windows PC or Mac. I have used it before and it does a great job. Much better than an AVD.
Try visual studio emulator for android. Instagram works on it with enabled and connected wifi. This emulator works better than BlueStacks.
I want an android and iphone emulator to run on windows to test my gwt application on windows. can someone point me to a proper emulator because i've been trying some with no success
The official iPhone simulator does not run on Windows. Seems you have to get a Mac ;-)
However the Android emulator can be installed pretty much anywhere:
http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/tools/emulator.html
If you point the Andorid browser in the emulator to your GWT application you should be able to test it. You can find messages from the browser in LogCat, watch out for the logging tag WebCore. You can even log from within your code and get the output in LogCat, see:
