Facebook rejected app from App Review - facebook

In my iOS app, I have used FacebookSDK and sharing features. For that I have included permission for publish_actions at login time. As per Facebook guideline you have to submit your app for review if you are using FacebookSDK.
So I have submitted my application for Facebook review along with simulator build, some descriptions, screencast (video or images) for how app is posted on Facebook. But Facebook rejects my app and I can’t identify reason.
It shows reason is cant get item 1 of {}. Any one have any idea why build is rejected and how Facebook review apps.

I faced same issue, when I have uploaded app for Facebook review it rejected two times. Here are couple of things you should look on them :
Login on Facebook for Developers
Go to App Review from left panel
From above screen shot click on first edit notes
Check respective check box as per your requirements.
Select one option from radio buttons as per your requirements.
Add step by step description of How your app use FacebookSDK here also include credentials (Facebook username and password which does not used before) for testing.
At last upload video as screencast (Your application video how it works with Facebook and you have to show how it look on your timeline on Facebook)
Click on Save.
Now from above screen shot click on second edit notes
Add test user if you want to add.
Select different build, upload build (which built with simulator) there and save.
Now hit on Submit For Review
Then also if any case you get rejected, Click on Green Have Question button. Add manager as your app name and select, then ask question to support team that what is the problem with your build and what is reason for reject. They will reply and you will find solution.

What platform to select for Facebook Messenger app review?

We're trying to submit a messenger bot app to Facebook for review. The app is configured as live:
It has some items as approved already:
And the platform on which it will operate is messenger only, however I do not see it listed here
What platform to select for Facebook Messenger app review?
None of these...
To publish a bot on the Facebook the following stuff are required to be ready:
Icon: You can upload a JPG, GIF or PNG file. The size of the image must be 1024 x 1024 pixels. File size limit 5 MB
App display name
Contact Email – In case if anyone (or Facebook) wants to contact a company
Category – the business category for which bot is getting published
Privacy policy URL
Terms of Service URL
Video - You'll be prompted to upload a screen-cast of your chat-bot working
Facebook page
Most of the above stuff can be done with common sense and below is the actual review submission.
Add messenger in Products if not already added
Add permissions required by the app
Go to the Messenger tab in the App Dashboard. Find the App Review section and select the permissions needed by the app.
Edit Notes for Each Submission
After selecting the permissions, one can edit the notes for each submission. Click on Edit Notes for each permission. Make sure to fill each form and any other missing items before clicking Submit for Review.
Facebook will need confirmation before submission:
Submit for Approval
Once you've submitted your app, you can view the App Review section to see the status of your approval.
Approval
Sometimes, the approval can be partial too:
If the app submission is approved/rejected, Facebook sends a notification. Also, the App Review section will show the green ticks to approved permissions, if the permissions are granted.
That's it.

Facebook App Review Process apparently makes impossible to any Vuforia + Unity + FB Plugin app to be public

I have a problem with an iOS App using Vuforia and Unity with a valid Facebook Plugin, the problem comes not in the plugin itself (that works properly), but in the Facebook Review process to make the App public and let all users in.
Today doing tests on the finished app, I realized that when using a valid Facebook Plugin (or any other Facebook implementation) with an user that is not the Facebook User Owner of the app (in this case me), Facebook request you to go to "App Status and Review" to click on:
"Do you want to make this app and all its live features available to the general public? YES| NO". This was traditionally allowed to be clicked, but today it's not. The option is not allowed.
"Yes" would make the app accessible to everybody. But this option (YES) is not available a priori, because the App needs first to pass a Facebook review process, in particular a Facebook Review Process to determine if the App is in agreement with its policy. (So we have to pass two reviews: Apple and then Facebook)
The problem here is apparently it's impossible to a Vuforia-Unity App to pass this process. To pass the Facebook Review process you need to send them your App in one of this two available format:
sending the id to Apple Store App (that is impossible to do, you can not send App Store an unfinished app), or
sending them a file containing a Simulated Build (using Terminal to build the project in xcodebuild -arch i386 simulatorXX).
None of this available options provided by Facebook are possible to Unity-Vuforia, technically, so it's technically impossible to obtain the approval of the App. This is because:
App Store is not going to pass an App that is not working (the FB button won't work, so App Store is not going to allow us finish the process and they will reject). So you cannot provide an AppStore-id to the Facebook Review team.
As far as Facebook only receives "Simulated Builds" it would be impossible to a Vuforia Unity App to be accepted, this is because when you are using Unity + Vuforia you can not build a simulated build, is incompatible. So is impossible to fit this requirement.
My questions here to you to try to solve this are:
Did you have this problem and solved it previously?
Is there anyway to avoid the Facebook review?
Do you know how long does it take to Facebook do the review?
Can you think in anything else to try to solve this?
PS: I am using a Neatplug plugin to connect to Facebook.

Facebook API "This app is in development mode"

What does "development mode" mean for a facebook app? I find no exact explanation of what I can and can't do while in development mode and what's the relation with the "Not available to all users because your app is not live".
Some people also refer to it as "Sandbox mode" so I have a lot of confusion between "development mode", "sandbox mode", "live vs not available to general public"
I know its a little bit late but someone may find this useful in future.
STEP 1:
Login to facebook Developer -> Your App
In Settings -> Basic -> Contact Email. (Give any email)
STEP 2:
And in 'App Review' Tab : change
Do you want to make this app and all its live features available to the general public? Yes
And you app will be live now ..
Click app review and Turn on the Make your app Public toggle. Save changes
This problem occurs when we set our app as unavailable to the public.
STEP 1
Open Facebook developer account
https://www.facebook.com/login/?next=https%3A%2F%2Fdevelopers.facebook.com%2Fdocs%2Ffacebook-login%2Fios
STEP 2
Select your application
STEP 3
Click the app Review tab.
Change switch value no to yes. See picture below.
After this your app is live.
Development mode is for testing
Go to https://developers.facebook.com/apps, then App Review -> Select No for Your app is in development and unavailable to the public
Go to Roles -> Testers, enter the Facebook user Id of the users you want to enable testing
Follow these basic steps to fix this problem,
Step 1: Go to Dashboard,
Step 2: Go to "App Review" tab,
Step 3: Enable the "Make test public?" option, Like Below image,
I had also faced the same issue in which my FB app was automatically stopped and users were not able to login and were getting the message "app is in development mode.....".
Reason why FB automatically stopped my app was that I had not provided a valid PRIVACY policy & terms URL. So, make sure you enter these URLs on your app basic settings page and then make your app PUBLIC from app review page as described in above posts.
in your app dashboard check status to on
for testing purposes only you could Go to your facebook developer dashboard.
create your app then in the top left corner open the apps dropdown menu and click create test app take the app ID and use instead.
I have the same problem while integrating the Facebook SDK for login.
I'm suggesting below approach for development mode > you can test all things if you are login with same account, which is used for 'developers.facebook.com' and if you want to use another accounts then you need to add Roles for that particular app, for that you can add developer or testers by using fid or facebook username.
Eg: - Select the particular app > Roles and then add developer or testers.

Facebook iOS SDK login returns to app without showing dialog box

This is to document and share the solution to a problem I faced, hopefully it's of benefit to others as well.
Problem:
Using the Facebook iOS SDK to perform a Facebook login from my iOS app, it returns to my app immediately from the Facebook app without showing any login screen or dialog box if the user has already granted the requested permissions previously and logged out after that. This behavior is the same whether the login is via the Facebook iOS app or through a webview within the app itself.
This can be a problem especially if your app is trying to support multiple Facebook users, as users may not have already logged in to the correct account in the Facebook app beforehand. By returning to our app immediately without explicitly showing the Facebook account used, users will login with the current account used in Facebook, which could be the wrong account.
This behavior occurs when the "iOS Bundle ID" has been set in the app settings in Facebook https://developers.facebook.com/apps
This is also mentioned in Pro-tip 3 (which I believe was just recently added) of the Facebook Login doc.
In order to avoid this behavior, the "iOS Bundle ID" field needs to be blanked out. And from recent experience, this may involve deleting and creating the whole "Native iOS App" section again, as simply deleting the "iOS Bundle ID" and saving the changes does not appear to have any effect.

URL for sending a user to the app review page on device's app store

What's the URL to launch in order to bring the iTunes App Store to the front, and open it to show the Reviews page of an app?
I want to send my users to the "Write a Review" page.
Some other SO answers provided URLs like the one below, but it doesn't seem to work:
itms-apps://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewContentsUserReviews?id=12345678&pageNumber=0&sortOrdering=1
Any suggestions for a URL that'll work on iPhone and iPad?
Update: iOS 4.2 seems to have fixed this and links now open the App Store app directly rather than the review page.
This article Dissecting iTunes links explains everything.
Heading straight to a review form
It’s also possible to send someone
straight to the review form for an
app.
https://userpub.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZUserPublishing.woa/wa/addUserReview?id=337064413&type=Purple+Software
Simply replace the ID with your app’s
ID to create a URL for your app.
On a desktop or laptop, this will take
you directly to the review form in
iTunes for the app or item. On an
iPhone or iPod touch, this will open
MobileSafari, then open iTunes or the
App Store app on the reviews page,
leaving the user only one tap away
from writing a review.
To find out an item’s ID, right (Mac &
PC) or control-click (Mac) on a link
to the item in iTunes and select Copy
Link. The result will look something
like this.
http://itunes.apple.com/au/album/dig-your-own-hole/id19605549
http://itunes.apple.com/au/app/consume-mobile-isp-packages/id337064413?mt=8
The ID is the number in the URL after
“id’.
It might be worth noting that this URL
was created using iTunes 8. I don't
think there’s a way to create review
links in iTunes 9, so maybe this URL
is being phased out. Use with caution.
Update: #mareMtl has provided an
alternative review link for apps.
Please note that it only works on
iPhone OS devices.
itms-apps://ax.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewContentsUserReviews?type=Purple+Software&id=337064413
I tried a bunch of different links, this is only one working for me on iPhone AND iPad consistently:
http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewContentsUserReviews?pageNumber=0&sortOrdering=1&type=Purple+Software&mt=8&id=YOUR_APP
Check out Appirater - http://arashpayan.com/blog/index.php/2009/09/07/presenting-appirater/
Every time the user launches your app, Appirater will see if they’ve used the app for 30 days and launched it at least 15 times. If they have, they’ll be asked to rate the app, and then be taken to your app’s review page in the App Store.
this works for me:
itms-apps://ax.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewContentsUserReviews?type=Purple+Software&id=584691809
Am using Appirater for Rating my App
These links in AppiRater
// for ios6 or earlier
NSString *templateReviewURL = #"itms-apps://ax.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewContentsUserReviews?type=Purple+Software&id=APP_ID";
// for ios7
NSString *templateReviewURLiOS7 = #"itms-apps://itunes.apple.com/app/idAPP_ID";
These links works fine .
But takes me to "Details" page of the app .
But it should go to "Ratings and Reviews" page..
suggest me any idea
Thanks
iTunes has a link maker you can use to get the URL. Tested on my app. It works.
For Requesting for rate and review to user after iOS 10.3+
The SKStoreReviewController allows users to rate an app directly from within the app through a dialog box. The only downsite is that you can only request StoreKit to display the dialog, but can't be sure if it will.
import StoreKit
func requestToRate() {
SKStoreReviewController.requestReview()
}
