Existing users are not prompted to update app on iOs app store - app-store

I created a new version for my app (3.0) and I released it on the app store. My update was published about 9 hours ago. However, when existing users open my app's page on the app store, there is no prompt to update.
When users attempt to update the app on the app-store, they see 'OPEN' rather than 'UPDATE'. If they click on 'OPEN', the old/existing version of the app pops up.
Here's a snapshot:
PS: The update is basically a logo change and since the new logo is reflecting on the app store, I'm sure the update has been done.
What do I do?

This issue corrected itself roughly 24 hours after the update was published. The text on the app-store page changed from OPEN to UPDATE and I was able to update normally.
The cause of this delay lies in the fact that Apple has many servers all over the world that need updating. However, if the delay is too long, consider contacting Apple support.

Is is ok to upload new app bundles while waiting for the review?

I'm working on a group project and we are trying to upload our flutter app to the Google Play Console. The other day, I finished all the processes for submitting the app and now we are waiting for the app approved. However, the app we submitted as the app bundle before doesn't have much functionality. But, one of our MVP was uploading to Google Play, so we just submitted the app having a simple frontend with no functionality to the "internal test", because I thought our app doesn't have enough functionality to release as a closed or open test.
My first question is if it says "pending publication", does it mean they are in the reviewing process and I should just wait for a few days? Another question is is it ok to update our app bundle while they are reviewing our app (since the current app bundle doesn't have much functionality)? And when is the better time to update app bundle next and and how to update? Is it just hit remove in the picture below and drop a new file??
"Pending publication" indeed means that your app is under review. These days, it can take as much as a week to have it reviewed.
You can indeed choose to create another release even while the first one is under review and upload a new App Bundle. In this case, the first release will be aborted in favour of the new one (assuming the two releases are in the same track). As someone pointed out, it is possible that it resets the waiting time for the review.
Regarding your screenshot, the fact that you can see a "Remove" button means that you probably already have created a new release (since existing published release are immutable). Maybe you created a new release in a different track?
Clicking "Remove" and uploading another version of the App Bundle should do it.

App Store not showing update button when new version is available

I have released the update of iOS app on iTunes. It is available on App store but neither it is showing in 'updates' tab nor it is updating automatically. Finally i uninstalled the old version and installed the new version from the app store.
This iOS app is developed in phonegap.
You should wait a few hours before a device finds the updated version of your approved application. The application update needs to be distributed to multiple servers dedicated to the App Store.
It is possible to manually check for updates on your device since iOS 11. Tap near the top of the screen near the ‘Updates’ text, then hold and pull down, then release.
Please note that you will not get the update automatically when you see a download button on your application page in the App Store. This means that the version on your device is signed with a different certificate than the released version in the App Store. Simply click on the download button to resolve this.
Hope this helps!
It's an open bug from apple side since last 5 years which is still yet to be fixed.

Updating App Store image for production iOS App

I released a new iPhone App recently, but once it appeared in the App Store following Apple's review, the App Store icon was surprisingly ugly; so I want to replace it right away.
However, whilst I'd expected to be able to do that through iTunesConnect or the Developer Portal, I haven't been able to find any way to revisit all the App meta data and screenshots etc. that I'd uploaded during the App ID registration phase.
My suspicion is that I may need to make this minor change to the App officially, as a version update; can anyone confirm this, or suggest how I should be replacing the App Store icon image quickly, please?
Bad news. Seems like you have to release an update for this purpose. Check this link
It states
Beginning January 9, app screenshots will be locked in iTunes Connect once your app has been approved. New screenshots may be uploaded when you submit a binary for an update to an existing app or a new app

question about link for updated app on app store

when you update an application on the app store. does the previous link now link to the updated app or does there exist 2 separate applications?
The link your app is assigned when it is approved and hits the iTunes App Store is the only link that app will be assigned. If you were to update your app 50 times, the link will still be the same.
I think it would be the former, cause it usually links to the most recent version of the application, especially since the system (itunes, app store and all) is overall designed to prompt you to update if you're not at the latest version, so it's no wonder this is so.
The link is always the same. When you update an app the latest version is always displayed on the page.

auto upgrading iOS apps

Is there some way to implement an auto-upgrade for an iPad app.
I would like to be able to have my app check for updates, and then upgrade itself.
As far as I am concerned the app can retrieve the update from the app-store, but:
I would like the interface to be app internal: User should just have to press an OK button for the upgrade to start (all this time staying within the app)
Is this possible at all?
It is possible to have display a notification to inform an update is available on you app and you can redirect the user to the AppStore, but an update can only be download from the AppStore.
This will reinstall the new version of your app. So you can't stay in the app to update (You need to go to the appStore and qui the app during the update).
Internally, you can only update some content for you app (not add new native code) but not with a real AppStore update.
Apple does not allow apps to download, install, or execute code that is not included in the original app submitted to Apple. The App store upgrade cannot be automatically started.
the best you can do is determine if the app store has a newer update, then prompt the user to install it by linking directly to the app page in the app store. They will still have to click the correct buttons to start the process.
Even if it were possible, it's not allowed by Apple. Your app will be rejected.
Unless you only update contents of your app, e.g. cooking receipts.
