I've got an app in App Store for a while.
Recently I've noticed that by default iPad preview images are displayed when I visit App Store with browser.
I would like to make the default to be the iPhone look, because first of all my app is an "iPhone app".
Is there a configuration in Xcode project or App Store Connect were I can set/force iPhone to be the default ?
Web link of App Store Connect.

The screenshot of the problem
P.S. I've been rubbing my butt against this issue already half a day, cannot find any solution.
Has anybody communicated on this with App Store customer support ?
After lengthy discussions with App Store Connect support, finally the problem is resolved
The “Designed for …” badge appears automatically
for iPhone and iPad apps that are made available for Apple silicon Macs.
With that option iPad screenshots will be displayed automatically when navigating to products URL with web-browser.
If you have selected “App Silicon Mac Availability” in the Pricing and Availability section of App Store Connect.
Uncheck it and check the product page URL after 24 hours have passed.

So, my app is approved and now I'd like to check what does listing look like in App Store. Is there way to do it without iPhone?
You can go to iTunes (Both Mac and Windows PC has supported) application and find your app.
There you can check how your app looks like in iPhone.
One more possibility: "https://itunes.apple.com/app/id[Your_APP_ID]"
Ex: https://itunes.apple.com/app/id424562537
First of all, it can take up to 48 hrs for your app to appear in all stores world-wide.
In iTunes Connect, you will find the direct link to your app. Depending on the browser (Safari vs. Chrome/Firefox/IE), first the iTunes Web Preview should show your app's store listing. From there you can view it directly in iTunes (if it's installed on your machine.)
To check if your app is available in all territories, go to "Pricing and Availability" and check for the right settings there. (Available in all territories)
I released a new iPhone App recently, but once it appeared in the App Store following Apple's review, the App Store icon was surprisingly ugly; so I want to replace it right away.
However, whilst I'd expected to be able to do that through iTunesConnect or the Developer Portal, I haven't been able to find any way to revisit all the App meta data and screenshots etc. that I'd uploaded during the App ID registration phase.
My suspicion is that I may need to make this minor change to the App officially, as a version update; can anyone confirm this, or suggest how I should be replacing the App Store icon image quickly, please?
Bad news. Seems like you have to release an update for this purpose. Check this link
It states
Beginning January 9, app screenshots will be locked in iTunes Connect once your app has been approved. New screenshots may be uploaded when you submit a binary for an update to an existing app or a new app
I recently launch a n iPhone app, with iAd on it. I simply dragged a banner to the app, which should be supposed to work. However, after several hours of app being in app store, the app cannot display adds on my testing iPhone. Anyone encounter similar problem?
Please verify that you have properly filled up the Bank and Taxation details and also agreed to Paid application license of the Developer account.
These are the common issues with iAd not displaying on app store application.
I have created Map application for iPhone and I developed same Map application on iPad too by my client requirement. Now I have same Map app project but two .ipa files one for iPhone and another for iPad.
I have already put iPhone version on iTune and it showing status "waiting for review"
1>Now I want to put my iPad version app on iTune with the same project name. How this can be achieve?
2>What Setting should I do in plist file and with xib files?
If there is universal app iPhone/iPad then in app store we can see both iphone and iPad app having same project name...So in my case what steps should I follow. Plz suggest
You can't upload two binary versions of the same app under the same name.
You either have to make a universal app (meaning iPhone/iPad app in one app) or submit under another name.
Start reading this: http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/iPhone/Conceptual/iPhoneOSProgrammingGuide/AdvancedAppTricks/AdvancedAppTricks.html
You can submit multiple apps from the same Xcode Project by using multiple Targets, and editing the Bundle ID suffix of each Target so that each Target has a unique Bundle ID. You might also want to change the Product name for each Target in the Build settings so that your apps will have different bundle file names.
Note that, unless the iPad version is different enough (uses iPad only APIs for instance) from the iPhone version, it has been reported that Apple might reject a nearly identical iPhone/iPad pair of apps and request that you submit a single Universal build instead.
If you wanted your iPhone and iPad project to be in the same app, you should have built it that way.
However, if you did specifically want a separate iPhone and iPad app, then you should make the difference clear in the names of each app.
There are many companies who have both iPhone and iPad apps on the appstore. Generally, the iPhone app is just called 'appName' and the iPad version is usually called 'appName for iPad'.
Examples of this are:-
Skype and Skype for iPad
Ebay and Ebay for iPad
If you want the application to have the exact same name in iTunes Connect, you will have to make it a universal app.
You can cancel the "waiting for review" and submit your universal binary instead:
Can I reject a binary that has already been submitted for review?
Yes. You are permitted to reject your binary, to remove it from the
Apple review queue, when your app is in one of the following iTunes
Connect states:
Waiting For Review
In Review
To reject your binary, simply click the Reject Binary button. After
the binary has been rejected, you can then indicate you are ready to
submit another binary through Application Loader, by clicking on the
Ready to Upload Binary button.
Please note that if you reject a binary that is Waiting For Review or
In Review, your review time will be reset and you will start over from
the beginning once you submit a new binary.
iTunes Connect FAQ
However, if you absolutely need to have two seperate applications, you can create a new app in iTunes Connect and name it for example "[your app] for iPad" or "[your app] HD" or something similar like a lot of apps you see on the store.
Are there any particular reasons you aren't submitting a universal application ?
It would have been better if it was a universal app.
In itunes Connect you cant create/re-use apps-name,sku number,bundle-identifier. You could submit a universal app as update.
If you still want multiple apps, Then you will have to create multiple apps in itunes connect with different name, sku number and bundle-id,
But note one thing the name of the application installed in the device is what you give on xcode, not the one in itunes connect. So I guess you could only give that much similarity.
PS if create a app with details{apps-name,sku number,bundle-identifier} and you delete without publishing also, you cant reuse these again.
So tell client the best(may be only possible) solution is Universal app.
if you have the same application for both iphone and ipad, for iphone app name will be - [appliction name], for ipad it should be - [application name ] HD
The app status is Ready for Sale and there is a working direct link to it in iTunes. However the search either with keywords or by the app name from the iTunes top left corner does not bring any result. It is listed in website when I manually browse to category.
The search however bring result on iPhone device App Store app. Just curious why my app is not found through the website search.
It may take a while until the app shows up in the search. How long ago did you receive the "Ready for Sale" notification?
Mostly the app is visible in the iTunes App Store (on the PC, NOT on the iPhone) before on the iPhone. If it takes longer than 24 hours, I would consider contacting Apple but before you have an answer from them your app will probably be Live so... Just be patient, it can take some hours... But again, check iTunes on your Mac/PC if you can find your app there, in my case it was always like that, first iTunes then App Store..
Good luck with your app!
