MongoDB is not working on Mac High Sierra - mongodb

I am trying to run MongoDB(4.4.16) on Mac High Sierra(10.13.6). When I run the server with command ./mongod from the bin folder of the installation, I see the following log:

First, surprisingly there is no message of the like that MongoDb started successfully.
Second, when from another tab of the terminal window, I attempt to access the database, I get a connection refusal:
MongoDB shell version v4.4.16
connecting to: mongodb://127.0.0.1:27017/?compressors=disabled&gssapiServiceName=mongodb
Error: couldn't connect to server 127.0.0.1:27017, connection attempt failed: SocketException: Error connecting to 127.0.0.1:27017 :: caused by :: Connection refused :
connect#src/mongo/shell/mongo.js:374:17
#(connect):2:6
exception: connect failed
exiting with code 1
How can I fix this issue?
Many Thanks

Credit to #deceze, the root cause is a read-only filesystem.
I'll address several of the reasons a filesystem can be read-only in macOS High Sierra and future versions.
NTFS filesystem format is a read-only format for macOS.
Most common with external hard drives, especially new ones that come pre-formatted.
You can confirm the directory (in your case /data/db) is NTFS by opening Disk Utility. You should see NTFS or Windows NT Filesystem as shown here:
You may resolve this by reformating the external hard drive.
The disk or directory with read-only disk permissions.
Find and right-click on the icon of your disk or directory then choose "Get Info". If you see only read with no write permission, then click on the lock to enter your password and unlock the tool. Next click on the "Read only" right of your name and select "Read & Write" instead.
Corrupt disks are also often mounted read only.
A corrupt disk is protected from being mounted read/write to avoid damaging the data or a kernel panic on corrupt disk info. To resolve this you open Disk Utility and select the disk. Right click and choose "Run First Aid". Once it completes it should say "operation successful" with a green check mark.

Unable to run mongo

I have problems when running mongo on my Ubuntu.
When I try mongo I got:

What is the problem, please?
Normally this is caused because you didn't start the mongod process before you try starting the mongo shell.
Start mongod server
mongod
Open another terminal window
Start mongo shell
mongo
I think the log identifies your problem:
{..."error":"NonExistentPath: Data directory /data/db not found. Create the missing directory or specify another path using (1) the --dbpath command line option, or (2) by adding the 'storage.dbPath' option in the configuration file."}}
How are you starting the mongod server? Here's a sample command line:
mkdir -p /some/path
# dbpath must name a dir, not a file
# logpath must name a file, not a dir
# Use a port different than 27017 for extra defense in depth safety
mongod --dbpath /some/path --logpath /some/path/mongo.log --port 47016 --fork

Mongo DB Can't connect with compass using Nginx Stream Module

I'm using my local home server as it connected with domain using CloudFlare and Port Forward from my local router.
php, mysql, nodejs every website is working well.
Even mongo DB can connect with nodejs codebase which hosted on the same server and used connection string localhost:port rest string
But when I tried to connect with it Compass, it throws me error
Server selection timed out after 30000 ms
I used this piece of code in nginx.conf
Nginx Config Path = /etc/nginx/nginx.conf
stream {
server {
#listen 81 ssl so_keepalive=on;
listen 81;
#ssl_certificate /var/storage/wd2tb/certificate/sanchyan.tech/origincert.pem;
#ssl_certificate_key /var/storage/wd2tb/certificate/sanchyan.tech/privatekey.pem;
proxy_connect_timeout 20s;
proxy_timeout 10m;
proxy_pass mongo_backend;
}
upstream mongo_backend {
server 127.0.0.1:27017; } }
Can anyone please help me ?
I used mongo DB version 4.xx ( Because my Home Server Processor is Intel Core 2 Duo ) and can't support latest mongo DB.
And I used Compass Version 1.30.1 (1.30.1) ( On Mac OS )
And also I open port in router setting for port forward like
External Port = 81
Internal Port = 81
Internal IP = 192.168.29.119 ( My Home Server Assigned IP by Router)
Protocol = ALL
Also attached a screen short from ssh
Also I enabled mongo DB Free Monitoring
URL
When I type mongod in ssh gives this warnings or erros
Mar 12 02:38:02 mainserver systemd[1]: Started MongoDB Database Server.

One of my mate, name Suman told me that
Server have own ufw firewall, and it's blocking the incoming port.
When I allow the port 81 then mongodb now connected with compass.

I am not sure about why this is happening. I have a folder in C:/data/db and I have also added path variables in Environment System variables as well.
What is more startling to me is that I can run the command mongo from my integrated terminal and run all the commands. Please help me out what I am doing wrong.
In D directory I just created a folder named data and inside of it I created another folder named db. Now everything is working fine.
I discovered what I was doing wrong. What I am trying to do is not allowed.
Here is what the docs say
Start mongod Processes By default, MongoDB listens for connections
from clients on port 27017, and stores data in the /data/db directory.
On Windows, this path is on the drive from which you start MongoDB.
For example, if you do not specify a --dbpath, starting a MongoDB
server on the C:\ drive stores all data files in C:\data\db.
To start MongoDB using all defaults, issue the following command at
the system shell:
mongod
You can read more here:
MongoDB Docs
If you want to run the same thing using a mongod command, you should make a .bat file to run the command for you. Here is how you do it:
Go to C:\Windows\System32
Make a .bat file there and name it mongod.bat (you might need to have administrator privileges for that.
Put the following command in .bat file:
start /b call "C:\Program Files\MongoDB\Server\4.4\bin\mongod.exe"  --dbpath "C:\data\db"
Save the file (again you need admin privileges)
Restart VS Code and try running mongod command. You will be good to go.

MongoDB (mac os catalina) doesn't appear "Waiting for connection"

I run mongo and get the output:
MongoDB shell version v4.4.1

Enable MongoDB's free cloud-based monitoring service, which will then receive and display
metrics about your deployment (disk utilization, CPU, operation statistics, etc).
The monitoring data will be available on a MongoDB website with a unique URL accessible to you
and anyone you share the URL with. MongoDB may use this information to make product
improvements and to suggest MongoDB products and deployment options to you.
To enable free monitoring, run the following command: db.enableFreeMonitoring()
To permanently disable this reminder, run the following command: db.disableFreeMonitoring()

In another terminal I run mongod and get:

But I don't see the message "waiting for connections on port 27017".
I tried everything I found on the internet! I installed homebrew to install MongoDB.
From the output you get from running mongo, we can see that you're able to successfully connect to a preexisting mongod process. When you try to run mongod there's a log stating Address already in use, supporting the idea that there is already a mongod process running. I'm unclear on what issue you're experiencing.

MongoDB 4.4 stopped getting launched in Windows 10 machine

I have installed MongoDB 4.4 on Windows 10 machine, and it was working fine. I could connect it from MongoDB compass. But now when I try to connect, I get 'mongodb compass connect ECONNREFUSED 127.0.0.1:27017' error. So I tried to launch it manually by executing mongod command, and I see following traces:

What can be the reason here?
In config file storage.dbpath is set to 'C:\Program Files\MongoDB\Server\4.4\data'.
# Where and how to store data.
storage:
dbPath: C:\Program Files\MongoDB\Server\4.4\data
NonExistentPath: Data directory C:\\data\\db\\
You need to create that folder. Or change it in a config file and use this file:
mongod --config mongod.conf
Keep in mind that this folder must be writable for the user who is running mongod.
