Is there a way I can connect my Google Sheets to my PostgreSQL database which constantly updates?
I learnt there are some ad-ons I can use to connect my Sheets to my PostgreSQl database but I am finding it difficult to connect it to my local host service.
I would appreciate it if I am pointed in the right direction.

I'm developing a Java Spring boot application with MongoDb database (MongoDB Atlas) and trying to generate reports from backend with Jasper reporting services. I have followed several tutorials to do that. But all of them show how to connect to a local database. Since I'm using MongoDB Atlas I'm wondering how to give Mongo URI while setting up the Data Adapter (See image)
If anyone knows a better approach to generate reports without using Japer reporting, please mention that as well. Thanks in advance!
You need to have mongodb atlas properly setup before you can connect to it.
First click on Database Access under Security in mongo atlas dashboard and create a new user
Then click on Network Access again under Security and whitelist your IP. The following image allows anyone to connect to the db
Finally, go to your cluster and click connect and you will be presented the following dialog. Copy the connection string from it and paste it into your jaspersoft connected interface.
Make sure you replace the <password> with the password of the user created above
That should work!
UPDATE: here is a screenshot of successful connection to jasperreport studio
I am working on SSIS and get trouble with POSTGres.
Because I need to build a command text from variables, so that I have to use the Ole DB Datasource to retrieve data from a Postgres server.
I have search alot pages in internet but not found any good provider (it is not reasonable with fee granted tool such as Devard :(, Postgres is free, it's drivers and provider should be free also).
Does someone can give me a hand on this?
Thanks
So I am trying to connect a golang container running on elastic beanstalk to a rds postgres database and am having a lot of trouble doing it. Amazon documents how to connect every other language to rds insances (ruby, php, .net etc) but apparently they have yet to add documentation for go. I've been experimenting with stuff along the lines of
db, err := sql.Open("postgres", "postgres:postgres#tcp(UNIQUEtoINSTANCE.us-east-1.rds.amazonaws.com:5432)/ebdb")
to no avail. (and yes my test password is postgres). I have literally spent most of this afternoon working on this, googleing it, tweeking the local instance and reuploading. The security groups are correct. Any advice in troubleshooting this would be greatly appreciated or better yet actual go code for connecting the two (I know I am not the first person to use aws and an sql database).
I have downloaded Tabeleau 8.0.1 desktop version. I am able to connect my local postgres database through tableau.
But when I try to connect to the redshift cluster, I am getting an error - invlaid userid /password. I already have passed userid and password correctly. FYI, I am able to connect redshift through sqlworkbench/j, command line prompt (psql) & pgadmin III. And I already have downlaoded the redshift driver as per http://www.tableausoftware.com/support/drivers.
However I am not able to connect redshift cluster through tableau.
Amazon Redshift has a direct connect with Tableau. When you start Tableau, please use the Connect to Data option and then choose Amazon Redshift on the left. You'll see the following log-in screen. You shouldn't need to worry about drivers. Also, the Tableau trial version is the full version, so there is no limiting of features.
You can read more here, and watch a video. Also technical details are here. You may want to try version 8.1, which is the most recent version (also has 64 bit)
I have installed Tableau server in my PC. I am trying to connect Amazon Redshift server from tableau server directly like connecting redshift from tableau desktop. I am not found any options for it. Is it possible? and i am using tableau server trail version. Thanks.
Tableau Server is used to store published data connections and workbooks created in Tableau Desktop. Whilst it is possible to edit an existing data connections, it is not possible to create a brand-new data connection on Tableau Server.
When publishing a workbook or data connection that uses Amazon Redshift, make sure that the appropriate driver is installed on the Tableau Server machine (Tableau Support drivers page)
