I am wondering if it is possible to write and run swift code in VSCode without installing Xcode on your laptop?
The problem I have is that I am unable to download the latest version of Xcode on my old MacBook Air.
The latest OS version available to me is big Sur 11.7.3
I am new to programming and am in the process of trying to create an app for iPhone.
I have been using VSCode to write my python programmes but I would now like to learn Swift, as of yet I have not been able to run any Swift on my laptop.
I hope you are all having a great day!
I installed Swift onto my Mac. But after installing the extension for Swift it does not run in VSCode.

I am currently trying to add firebase to my Xcode project. I am using Xcode 11. The problem is with the actual cocoapods because now none of my projects using cocapods will build. im currently running cocoapods 1.9.3. All my errors fall under GoogleDataTransport and it says theyre all "lexical or preprocessor issue"s. Any help would be great!
I think this error is related to this issue.
To fix it, you have to modify the build settings.
Select your Pods Project
Go to Build Settings
Set Quoted Include In Framework Header to NO

I developed an app for iOS in Swift, and now I have to make the same app in Linux.
I know that in Linux I can't use frameworks as UIKit. What are the better alternatives?
I found different projects that provides a graphic UI:
Swift for GUI
https://www.reddit.com/r/swift/comments/4ig0ic/swift_for_linux_and_graphical_interface/
Qt Swift
https://github.com/Longhanks/qlift
minesweeper in Qt: https://github.com/Longhanks/swiftmine
Pure Swift
https://github.com/PureSwift
Cacao Lib: https://github.com/PureSwift/Cacao
Did you try them? Are there better options?
Other way could be to create a Framework or DLL with my Swift code and use other language to develop the Linux Desktop app. Is this possible?

Is it possible to install apps from Xcode to device without the USB cable? In Xcode I found this option in the preferences window:
I've seen that same setting, but from what I have read and seen, it isn't a fully complete feature. I have not been able to get it working at all.
If you are interested in installations without wires, I would consider using TestFlight. It is a fantastic tool for developers. Great for beta testing and wireless installation. Good luck.

I have a slow internet download speed here. My question is, my friends has already downloaded the new Xcode 4 for Mac Lion Upgrade. I am thinking to reuse it for my Mac Book Pro to install Xcode 4, so can I use the same bundle to install XCODE 4 on my Mac Machine too or Do I need to download XCode 4 dmg again from the store ( Which will take too much time )
I also have a paid developer account, let me know if it helps.
Thanks in Advance.
Try it? - the worst that can happen is that it says no.
Yes - at least I've done it with 4.0.2 on several machines. This works because it doesn't bother checking the MAS receipt (because it's free).

I was wondering how I would go about keeping Apple's SDK 3.2.1 installed, while also installing the new beta. I am sure this is simple, but wanted to ask before creating a potential problem. Also SKD 2.0 is it possible to get back, like from the Apple site or not?
I am wondering what most programmers are doing to test multiple versions of devices because I hear the iPod crowd is still mostly running 2.0.
Thanks.
It's pretty standard (and recommended even) to install the entire Xcode tool set with the new SDK in a different root directory. I use /Developer_SDK3.2 for example.
