Netbeans 6.5.1 + Openfire 3.6.4 Collaboration? - netbeans

We are using the collab plugin in Netbeans. Unfortunately the "Service for the developer collaboration XMPP server share.java.net will be discontinued as of April 20, 2009. "
http://wiki.netbeans.org/FaqShareJavaNet
I managed to install OpenFire 3.6.4 on OpenSolaris 2008.11.
Whatever I do I cant login from Netbeans collab plugin, but getting "Object does not represnt a valid JID"
Server log:
2009.05.23 21:41:27 [org.jivesoftware.openfire.spi.PresenceManagerImpl.userUnavailable(PresenceManagerImpl.java:271)] Error storing offline presence of user:
Little info to find on this topic, other than
http://wiki.netbeans.org/CollabServer
http://www.igniterealtime.org/community/message/190171
Does anyone run successfully Netbeans with Openfire ?
cheers

i think there's a bug somewhere between Openfire and netbeans collab module.
using NB 6.7, Openfire 3.6.4 and postgres 7, i notice there are 2 process trying to provide "presence" function which resulting 2 conflicted database entry in ofpresence table.
one entry which i believe came from netbeans collab connection, contains a user JID required by netbeans, while the other one didn't, this is what i believe the culprit behind the "Object does not represnt a valid JID" error message.
i decided to experiment with deleting all services in Openfire Group Chat tab, and successfully managed to login from my NB 6.7, but no collaborative channel available...

Yes!
Install "Search" plugin from the available plugins list in the openfire admin. THATS ALL!
It's even in the link above :)
If it doesn't work, try disabling offline messages.

How to create openshift application for OPENSHIFT ONLINE 3 STARTER (NEW!) server in Eclipse IDE?

I am trying to create an openshift3 application in Eclipse IDE after installing JBoss Developer tool plugin in IDE, But getting below error at the time Sign into OpenShift.
Error: The server type, credentials, or auth scheme might be incorrect:
I have also tried other server hostname like https://console.starter-us-east-1.openshift.com/console/ and much more, but still not working.
While, when I tried to log in using OC tool (OpenShift CLI) with the same credential (as seen in picture), I haven't got any error.
I also tried to run RHC (OpenShift Client Tool) but at the time of RHC setup it is saying "You are not authorized to perform this operation."
Please help me to solve it out.
First of all, it looks like you're using an outdated version of the JBoss Tools Openshift plugin, because the "New Openshift Application" wizard looks a little bit different at the moment. So try to update it:
Help -> About Eclipse -> Installation Details -> Update... - and choose at least all the JBoss Tools plugins that it'll report to you (the best will be to choose everything reported) and update them.
Secondly, what is the URL which you use to access the Openshift web console in your browser? It seems to me that it is https://console.starter-us-east-1.openshift.com. Are you able to login there with your credentials? If yes, the same must work in JBoss Tools Openshift plugin. Check this and this articles for more info about using it.

Eclipse with TFS plugin - endless login loop

I have a problem in eclipse with the tfs plugin. I try to login and it stuck in some kind of login loop.
I looked here and in google. Nothing help.
I found this posts:
Eclipse with TFS plugin - looping login
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/5e3f8b3a-d623-4401-b9f1-50f1f52ab299/eclipse-tfs-plugin-keeps-signing-in-in-loop-followed-by-there-were-some-problems-message
I tried to clean cookies and password and everything possible in IE
I reinstalled the plugin. I updated everything possible, checked for eclipse indigo last version (3.2.7)
Nothing worked. Anyone can help me?
The forum posts you referenced are about the Team Foundation Service, not the on-premise server. Since the service uses Microsoft Accounts (previously known as Live Id's) it depends on cookies in your browser.
The on-premise version of Team Foundation Server uses your domain account which isn't stored as a cookie, but which is stored in the Windows Credentials Vault by default for Windows processes. Try going through the stored credentials to make sure your username/password or TFS server isn't mentioned there. If it is, either update it or remove it.
Can you verify whether the same account settings are correctly picked up by Visual Studio/Team Explorer (if you have it installed on the same machine)? Eclipse and Team Explorer should use the same credential vault.

GWT - DevMode: 'gwt.google.com not found' - 'Cannot display web page'

really need some help.
I have been working for the past 3 days trying to get a webpage to open when I run my web based Java-GWT-eclipse program. IE gives me error "Internet Explorer cannot display webpage" and chrome says "The webpage is not available- The server at gwt.google.com can't be found, because the DNS lookup failed."
I have tried this project on multiple other computers with an older eclipse-gwt plugin installed and it works great. All of these computers are dev boxes and do not have internet access. It does, however, have a solid connection to the database (SQL dev works fine).
what i have tried
copied eclipse and gwt plugin files from another dev box and installed. Gave me above error.
deleted/ uninstalled everything and installed newest version eclipse and gwt plugin. I was able to install gwt in eclipse but it could not locate GWT-user.jar file and would not allow me to create project.
Tried #2 again, same problem. Tried again on another computer, same problem.
Applied older version SDK to newer eclipse version. Gave same error as posted above/ #1.
ran wireshark on a working dev and the problem dev and the problem dev box was trying to communicate with google while the good one was going to some local IP address.
messed around with every setting in eclipse and nothing has worked.
What is left to try??? I am going insane.
What is the web page you are trying to open: http://gwt.google.com ?
Does this page load if you write the url directly in the address box of your browser ?
Does Internet work in that computer? try to access google or any other page.
This error is a clear case of a miss-configuration on your PC internet stack:
The server at gwt.google.com can't be found, because the DNS lookup failed.
What does return this command in your console?
nslookup gwt.google.com
EDITED:
After reading your comments I figure out what is happening: your browser has not the gwt-plugin installed, so the first time it connects to a gwt-dev-mode app, the app redirects it to the gwt site to download the plugin and install it.
You have either, connect this computer to the internet to install the plugin the first time it is requested, or download the plugin and install it manually.

Connecting to Jira remotelly Using Netbeans or other client tools

I am using Atlassian JIRA™ (Professional Edition, Version: 3.0.3-#75 and Netbeans IDE 7.1
But when trying to validate a connection to Jira from netbeans it gave me this error "Jira RPC services are not enabled"
while I have enabled it and also I enabled allow remote calls in Jira
To be more specific "RPC JIRA Plugin" that I have installed is
The standard JIRA RPC services, both SOAP and XML-RPC.
Plugin Version: 1.1
JIRA version: 3.0
It has
System XML-RPC Services (xmlrpc)

RPC Field Coordinator (rpcFieldCoordinator)
Issue Service (issueService)
User Service (userService)
Token Manager (tokenManager)
System SOAP Services (soap)
The standard JIRA SOAP services.
Magic Field Validator (magicFieldValidator)
Project Service (projectService)
My global configurations are:
Allow users to vote on issues ON
Allow users to watch issues ON
Allow unassigned issues ON
Cache issues ON
External user management OFF
Logout Confirmation Never
Use Gzip Compression OFF
Accept remote API calls ON
BTW, it is not just netbeans, I got same problem with other tools as well to connect to jira
I will apreciate if my answer be found ASAP .
Thanks
Answering an old question, but I thought someone else might find this useful.
I got the same error today setting up an issue tracker in NetBeans 7.2 and I eventually tracked it down to NetBeans not being able to correctly resolve (using DNS) the (local) host name that was running our JIRA server. When I changed NetBeans to use 'No Proxy' in the main settings, it worked fine.
EDIT: Note that as of version 7.0 of the JIRA server, Atlassian have depracated the SOAP/XML-RPC API, so the JIRA Plugin for Netbeans no longer works. :-(

EclipseRT/Virgo not appearing in Eclipse Server Adapter list

I'm trying to get up and running with Virgo, and I'm following along with what appears to be an excellent tutorial, but I'm at section 7.2 and I just can't figure out why EclipseRT / Virgo doesn't appear in my list of options.
So far I've been using SpringSource Tool Suite (STS) as the guide recommended and have installed all the Spring dm Server Tools and Developer Resources bundles.
Has anyone else run into this issue or have a solution to getting the EclipseRT/Virgo server adapter?
Virgo 2.1.0.RELEASE and STS 2.5.0.RELEASE are both now out. The problems you had with the docs should be resolved. The documentation has also been updated to show the latest information as well.
Be aware that the STS 2.6.0 upgrade removes this server adapter! Refer to the STS JIRA entry STS-1690 for details on this removal. You can simply go to the Dashboard > Extensions tab and select "dm Server Support Extension" to put it back.
Hey, have a look at this eclipse forum for virgo
Seems like you have to get used to playing with the update sites until you find the right one. I imagine that by the time anyone reads this the url will probably have morphed every so slightly yet again. Sigh. Comes of playing with tech while they're still actively releasing.
In case someone is searching for more recant information, one need to install DM Server Tooling from http://dist.springsource.com/release/DMS-TOOLS/update to get Virgo in the server add dialog.
I've been just playing around with Virgo 2.1.1 and Eclipse STS 2.7.1.
Indeed there is no Virgo server adapter, but you can install it from this update site:
http://download.eclipse.org/virgo/milestone/IDE
For the latest version of STS (3.1.0), I tried many ways suggested, and find only the Eclipse Virgo/Tooling wiki works.
It adds the EclipseRT/Virgo adapter in STS 3.1.0.
