Multiple facebook accounts in single iPhone app - iphone

Is there a way I can allow user to login with multiple facebook accounts at the same time? Like what tweetie2 does for twitter accounts. So if I have two facebook accounts - a#a.com and b#b.com. I want the user to login with both of them on my iPhone app. Selecting tab for a#a.com will show statuses from a and selecting tab b#b.com would do the same for b.
Please let me know.
Thanks
AJ

Ya if you used keychain to store their credentials it'd be possible to have them enter their credentials for each account (you'd store them in keychain) and then do the logout/login as necessary. Not the best, but might be all you have open to you.

With the way the FBConnect code works, probably not more than one user at a time.
However, if you had two users A and B, when user B's tab is clicked on, you could log out user A and then log in user B. Then, when user A's tab is clicked on, user B would be logged out and user A logged back in.

You can use one in iPhone app and the other web based
Unfortunately the web based version does not support photo uploads. You have to use the app version to get this.

There is 'Friendly' for facebook on the iPad so it must be possible.

Facebook login with multiple apps

I have 2 mobile apps. These apps have different names and branding. However, as both these companies are partners, we have the same login system. This means the user should be able to use the same login details for both apps.
I want to add Facebook login to both of these apps.
Solution 1: Use same FB App ID
The easiest option is to use the same registered Facebook App for both applications.
The issue here is that I need a different logo & app name to appear when logging in with Facebook. However, the FB dashboard only allows you to specify one app name & logo for each app.
Solution 2: Create another app in FB Dashboard
Another solution is to create another app in FB developer portal, and use 2 different FB ids. The issue here is that if a user logs into both apps, it is not clear that they are using the same account. Before we had a fb_id attribute, but it looks like we cannot use this anymore. Also, a user can revoke certain permissions on one app, and not the other, causing things to be out of sync.
How can I solve this issue?

Facebook page tab prompting for login, but it shouldn't

When a user is not logged in and they navigate to a page tab made with our app, they get an obtrusive dialog asking them to log in:
This has nothing to do with http vs https, the app is not in sandbox mode, there is nothing in the tab asking for a login or user information, etc. I've gone through the app settings at least a half dozen times now, and nothing is wrong there. Aside of urls, the settings are identical to another app I have that does not suffer from this problem. I'm stumped!
Edit: here is an affected tab: https://www.facebook.com/StaticHtmlThunderpenny/app_203351739677351
This message is not about login to your app, but Facebook in general.
So my guess would be that the page your app is installed as page tab app on is restricted in some way – by age, location, or for having alcohol-related content. And then of course Facebook asks for login, because otherwise they can not determine whether or not the (as of now still “anonymous”) user qualifies to see the page.
So go check the page settings.
This is actually not app related question.
This is thumb rule!! To access any app on Facebook, you need to log in to Facebook. You can see Facebook page without log in. But for facebook apps, you should be authentic user.
with this issue in my own experience that I came across some years back with a facebook app that I was running, if this doesn't relate to any of your other social networking apps then am aligning two set of possibilities and solution.
The user might have not properly logged out as "written" in the app for the users logout stage.
Solution would be that the user logout as expected before closing the app.
The user might have set up an automatic login prompt which was removed by the app when it was been updated automatically. (If you do get me???)
Solution would be to monitise your app on updates and login informations or better still just login and logout ask intended by the app and for security reasons.
Lastly I would say that automatic bookmark database should be added to the server part so current pages as the user uses the app would be saved after logout or login stage. Thank you, hope this helps and if not let me know what am missing.

Facebook: detecting user apps

Hello I've read the docs and am having trouble getting a definitive answer for the following questions:
Can our app detect if another app is used by a given user. What about if we are admin of, or have the id of both apps.
If one of the apps is removed from FB is there a way to tell if a user had it installed before it was removed? A sort of history of past apps, I guess.
Here:
FB Connect: is there a way to see the logged in user's facebook apps?
Best answer is "I think the most you can do..." but I'd like to know for sure.
Thanks for any help.
If you request the permission user_actions:APP_NAMESPACE you can see the open graph actions that the user has performed in that app.
http://developers.facebook.com/docs/authentication/permissions/#open_graph_perms
In my apps I generally store the user ID of all authorized users in a database, and when I get a call via the "Deauthorize Callback URL" I don't delete the user from the database, but instead only flag the user as deauthorized.
This way I can easily get an overview of users that are using (or have used) any of my apps. This allows me to present special features for users who are using several of my apps.
For example, let's say I made a photo app (like Instagram) and a GPS running app (like Endomondo). If the user takes a photo with Instagram while running with Endomondo, I could present the option to GPS-tag the photo, or add the photo to Endomondo.
This is something that I think we developers should use more. Perhaps present an open API to other apps, to let the apps work together.

Facebook Integration in iOS app

I need to post a user-specific text, determined by him, on his wall/timeline when he presses a button (in facebook's tutorial, they make the user login when the app launches, and then it does nothing).
There is a lot of information on the internet but every site does it in other way.
Just wanted to know if there's a specific way to do it.
Thanks!
A quick easy way to add facebook to your app is ShareKit (http://www.getsharekit.com/). This also allows you to add other social network site to your app.
You might want to try Socialize: http://www.GetSocialize.com. It'll allow app users to comment & like within the app, with the option of also sharing out to a social network (Facebook currently live; Twitter coming). Full feature list at http://go.GetSocialize.com/features

UI for rating an app during deletion

Is that possible pop up the UI which comes during the deletion process before deleting the app ? (A UI which has stars, no thanks, rate my app button).
If no, can you tell me whether it is possible to create a screen and send the rating captured to iTunes connect ?
As other people said, your best option is to send people to the review/ratings page on iTunes.
The best open source solution I found for this is Appirater.
I use it in my apps and it works great + it generates many reviews.
You can configure when the popup should show. It basically looks like this:
(source: arashpayan.com)
It was created by Arash Payan, visit his page about Appirater with all the information.
This form always pops up if you delete an app on your iPhone. I don't think you can grab personal ratings out of iTunes but once you gather a sufficient number of votes you'll see the details on your app iTunes page.
You cannot present this UI yourself—it's handled by the OS. You can, however, direct your users to your app's rating page in the App Store app by opening an appropriate iTunes store URL, as documented in the “Heading straight to a review form” section of this article.
