I remember using collaborative text editing in NetBeans some versions ago. You could edit a file from your project collaboratively with a partner, hosting a server on your computer. It was something similar to Gobby (Kobby). I think you even had a chat client.
I'm using NetBeans 6.8 now after a long time with Eclipse. I see there's integration with Kenai, but this makes no sense unless you're working on a free software project and hosting it over there.
I found this: http://collabed.org/ but it just opens a new window with shared text or something, not exactly what I'm looking for.
Any ideas if there's a way to get this functionality on NetBeans 6.8?
It looks like the Developer collaboration module was discontinued after the release of NetBeans 6.5.... at least as a stand-alone feature.
I was able to load it into NetBeans 6.8, by registering the NB 6.5 update center.
I am not sure that it will work, since I do not have a collab server to use, or an extended team to collab with.
The url for the NetBeans 6.5 update center is: http://updates.netbeans.org/netbeans/updates/6.5/uc/final/stable/catalog.xml.gz.
The name of the module is "Developer Collaboration".

My agency is developing using the CE version in anticipation of purchasing a license. We are creating xforms by hand using the 2019 CE version, using jsp's in a Java tomcat application (separate deployment). I downloaded the 2020 version (hoping to use the 5.x version of TinyMCE) and found that rich text controls no longer appear using the same xforms used with the 2019 version. Looking at the browser page inspector (Ms edge), it appears that the TinyMCE resources (js and css) aren't downloaded to the browser at all. No html elements are created for the editor. I didn't see a console error or see an http error for the resources.
I couldn't find any issues related to TinyMCE in this version. Has anyone else seen this? Is there a configuration difference between the versions that may be causing it? (I reused the configuration I had from 2019 version). Anyone have suggestions on what to look at?
When I reverted to the 2019 version it works again. Any help would be appreciated!
I am not aware of any issue with the TinyMCE and Orbeon Forms CE 2020.1.2. I would recommend you try to reproduce this with an out-of-the-box install, and if it works there, progressively put back your existing configuration on that out-of-the-box install.
If you are doing this with the perspective of using Orbeon Forms PE, I would just use the latest release of Orbeon Forms PE 2020.1.3 with a trial license, as this way you'll have a configuration that is as close as possible to what you're ultimately planning to have, and you will benefit from having all the latest released fixes.
(And should this not solve the problem, feel free to post more information in the comments.)
looking solution for code local history in dreamweaver/cfbuilder. we are using Git-Hub for version controlling. I don't know if I can using git-hub for local history in dreamwearer or cfbuilder.
I was googling and found {https://github.com/vishr/local-history}. look like. it is for Atom IDE but we are use dreamwearver & cfbuilder. if some have any idea if I can enable these two Editors local history it will be great help?
Thanks
I'm sure that CFBuilder will have a plug-in for git. Since CFBuilder is a version of Eclipse; this plug-in will probably work:
http://www.eclipse.org/egit/
I do use DreamWeaver and here is a plug-in that integrates git:

UPDATE:
I'm sorry. Adobe stopped development on the Adobe Extension Manager CC for CC 2015+. It will not work with newer versions of DreamWeaver CC. I did have Adobe Extension Manager CC version 7.3.2.29 installed. The version that you can download from Adobe's web site is 7.2.1.6. Neither of these versions work with DreamWeaver CC 2017
https://www.adobeexchange.com/resources/27
Adobe doesn't appear to offer an alternative for installing extensions.
I did find an Extension Manager that works with DreamWeaver CC 2017 on the DMX Zone web site.
https://www.dmxzone.com/go/22670/dmxzone-extension-manager-for-dreamweaver/#
You can use it to install the extension (and refresh the installed extension list to get it to appear). However, the extension does not appear in DreamWeaver at all. So, even though it is "installed" it doesn't do anything.
At this point, I would recommend using something else that is not integrated into DreamWeaver CC 2017+. Adobe seems to going down a path that discourages plug-in/extension development.
I have used gitKraken before and it works pretty well as a graphical git interface.

My project makes use of the Play! framework, so I don't need an editor that can compile. I generally like NetBeans, but would like to remote edit source files on the server to save time. I also often switch between my desktop/netbook for development, so remote editing would save me from syncing a dev environment.
All my searches for remote editing for Netbeans suggest that it's available for PHP projects, but I don't see anything for Java projects. If Netbeans doesn't support remote editing for Java projects, is there an IDE that does?
Edit: I develop on Windows but the server runs Linux.
You don't mention your operating system, but there are solutions for Windows where you can make a FTP server appear as a regular drive in Windows. That way you can use any editor/IDE you like regardless whether that supports FTP access or not.
A quick search diggs up this:

I have centos installed on myserver and for development i have installed NetBeans IDE 6.9.1.
Now as glassfish 3 was not present on my server i tried to download it from netbeans itself using
add server panel but when i click on download i am getting I/O exception , following is the screen shot
can anyone tell me how to get rid off it ..
This is caused by some poor programming on my part and the CollabNet to Kenai migration of the java.net web sites.
The url for downloading became something like http://download.java.net/glassfish/... when the migration took place. 6.9.1 had shipped long before the migration took place and remapping this URL did not get put on 'the list' of URLs that had to be remapped.
Some of the coding problems have been addressed in 7.0 builds. Since 7.0 is nearly FCS, you may want to consider using those builds instead of 6.9.1...
Note: you download GlassFish Server Open Source Edition with the following link: http://dlc.sun.com.edgesuite.net/glassfish/3.0.1/release/glassfish-3.0.1-ml.zip
I thought I'd give Helios a try, so I grabbed the latest Java EE install from http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/eclipse-ide-java-ee-developers/heliosr. Note, both OSX 32bit and 64bit exhibit the same symptoms.
So from a fresh install I run Helios (it launches fine), then the problem comes when I try running an upgrade. I keep getting these two errors errors:
Artifact not found: http://download.eclipse.org/releases/helios/compositeContent.jar.
http://download.eclipse.org/releases/helios/compositeContent.jar
No repository found at http://download.eclipse.org/releases/helios.
These are my (default) update sites:
Helios http://download.eclipse.org/releases/helios Enabled
Mylyn for Eclipse Helios http://download.eclipse.org/tools/mylyn/update/helios Enabled
The Eclipse Project Updates http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/updates/3.6 Enabled
The Eclipse Web Tools Platform (WTP) software repository http://download.eclipse.org/webtools/repository/helios Enabled
http://download.eclipse.org/tools/mylyn/update/e3.4 Disabled
http://download.eclipse.org/tools/mylyn/update/extras Disabled
Note, I'm not behind any firewalls/proxies etc, no nothing weird with network connectivity.
I've searched all over the place and there are others with the same problem, with no solution that I could find.
Has anyone else run into these issues?
UPDATE 1:
Notes:
I'm not behind a proxy.
I've tried the Java EE, but also bare bones Eclipse 3.6.1.
I've tried different mirrors (including the main site),
I've tried SpingSource's version.
I've tried exporting the update sites to XML, deleting them and reimporting them.
I even tried adding forward slashes to the ends of site names.
I've made sure I have full write permissions for the eclipse folder, and have even placed it on my desktop.
I mention all of these seemingly odd behaviours because these are suggestions I've read around the web on this problem, which many people are having.
Once last interesting point I've just tried, is to download the "http://download.eclipse.org/releases/helios/compositeContent.jar" directly in the browser. It redirects to "http://www.gtlib.gatech.edu/pub/eclipse/releases/helios/compositeContent.jar" with a 403 forbidden. :\ It seems as though system is finding a mirror, but perhaps the mirror is broken? Also note, I'm in Australia, so Georgia Tech is nowhere near me ;)
Just as I was writing this, I tried one last idea. I discovered "Pulse" by Genuitec, which is a Eclipse install manager. I gave it a shot, and it worked. The site it uses for updates is:
" http://eclipse.poweredbypulse.com/downloads/aux/eclipse-mirr or/releases/helios"
So, I've wasted enough time on this now. I'd create a bug in Eclipse Bugzilla, but there are already entries with no solution.
UPDATE 2:
Ok, from a fresh install, if I disable:
http://download.eclipse.org/releases/helios/
and add Pulse's update site:
http://eclipse.poweredbypulse.com/downloads/aux/eclipse-mirror/releases/helios/
I don't get any errors. I really think it's to do with the automatic mirrored update site. Is this possible?
Here is a screenshot of my update sites now:

Shane
Ok, I had the same issue on Windows XP 64bits laptop an Fresh Helios 64bits download, however your workaround works for me.
See update 2 in the question.
