Trying to install mysql-python. Got following error. Got mysql and pythond already installed. Any help will be highly appreciated
[root#uu include]# easy_install mysql-python

error: Setup script exited with error: command 'gcc' failed with exit status 1

This will install GCC and others often required:
yum groupinstall 'Development Tools'
Can also be installed individual i.e yum install gcc

you need to install gcc (on centos, some variety of dev-tools)

OpenSSL#1.1 not getting linked with Homebrew - trying to install postgresql

My system is OS Mojave 10.14.6, when I try to install postgresql I have this error:
Error: An exception occurred within a child process:
RuntimeError: /usr/local/opt/openssl#1.1 not present or broken
Please reinstall openssl#1.1. Sorry :(
When I try to install openssl#1.1 I have this message:
brew install openssl#1.1
Running `brew update --preinstall`...

Warning: openssl#1.1 1.1.1n is already installed, it's just not linked.
To link this version, run:
brew link openssl#1.1
➜ / brew link openssl#1.1

If you need to have openssl#1.1 first in your PATH, run:
echo 'export PATH="/usr/local/opt/openssl#1.1/bin:$PATH"' >> ~/.zshrc
For compilers to find openssl#1.1 you may need to set:
export LDFLAGS="-L/usr/local/opt/openssl#1.1/lib"
export CPPFLAGS="-I/usr/local/opt/openssl#1.1/include"
For pkg-config to find openssl#1.1 you may need to set:
export PKG_CONFIG_PATH="/usr/local/opt/openssl#1.1/lib/pkgconfig"
And then when I try to force hombrew link openssl, I get this message
Warning: Refusing to link macOS provided/shadowed software: openssl#1.1
If you need to have openssl#1.1 first in your PATH, run:
echo 'export PATH="/usr/local/opt/openssl#1.1/bin:$PATH"' >> ~/.zshrc

For pkg-config to find openssl#1.1 you may need to set:
export PKG_CONFIG_PATH="/usr/local/opt/openssl#1.1/lib/pkgconfig"
I added the lines to .zshrc file like suggested:

export LDFLAGS="-L/usr/local/opt/openssl#1.1/lib"
export CPPFLAGS="-I/usr/local/opt/openssl#1.1/include"
export PKG_CONFIG_PATH="/usr/local/opt/openssl#1.1/lib/pkgconfig"
But I kept on having the message when retrying to intall postgresql
Error: An exception occurred within a child process:
RuntimeError: /usr/local/opt/openssl#1.1 not present or broken
I have read and try everything I found on the net regarding this question. I don't find any solution, any help would be very useful thanks!
UPDATE:
I got homebrew from this command :
/bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)"
and The pg version in my rails gemfile is
gem "pg", "1.3.5"
but I just tried brew install pg,
and bundle install fails also
UPDATE 2
when trying to
brew reinstall openssl
openssl#3 is installed and I get this message:
openssl#3 is keg-only, which means it was not symlinked into /usr/local,
because macOS provides LibreSSL.
and then when I try to
brew install postgresql
I have the same error:
Error: An exception occurred within a child process:
RuntimeError: /usr/local/opt/openssl#1.1 not present or broken
Please reinstall openssl#1.1.
I am having this same issue and did much of what cecileRx did as well to no avail. I am getting this issue as part of the 'brew install px4-sim-jmavsim' step in this PX4-Autopilot setup.
https://docs.px4.io/master/en/dev_setup/dev_env_mac.html
UPDATE: I think I got around this by uninstalling openssl and then installing openssl#1.1
brew uninstall openssl
brew install openssl#1.1
Running those two commands resolved the errors I was getting that matched those described in the questions.

Installing Vivado ML 2021.2 in CentOs but process is hang in 'Generating installed device list'

anybody can help me figure out why the installation is hanging on 'Generating installed device list' and how to solve it without starting the process all over. I am working on CentOs.
Thanks in advance
I think this happens due to following missing packages:
libstdc++6:i386
libgtk2.0-0:i386
dpkg-dev:i386
ncurses5-compat-libs
python3-pip
libtinfo5
libncurses5
As BKN mentioned, you need to install the missing packages.
To avoid starting all over again, you can do the following:
Check the log: cat ~/.Xilinx/xinstall/*.log
Locate the error message. It should look something like:
2022-01-09 10:53:11,458 DEBUG: n.t:? - Executing script Generating installed device list: /tools/Xilinx/Vivado/2021.2/bin/vivado [-nolog, -nojournal, -mode, batch, -source, /tools/Xilinx/Vivado/2021.2/scripts/sysgen/tcl/xlpartinfo.tcl, -tclargs, /tools/Xilinx/Vivado/2021.2/data/parts/installed_devices.txt]
2022-01-09 12:05:35,319 DEBUG: n.t:? - Unable to run GenerateDevListFileLin, exit code: 130, stdout: , stderr: application-specific initialization failed: couldn't load file "librdi_commontasks.so": libtinfo.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory failure msg:
application-specific initialization failed: couldn't load file "librdi_commontasks.so": libtinfo.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
2022-01-09 12:05:35,319 DEBUG: n.t:? - Executing script Generating installed device list for Model Composer: /tools/Xilinx/Vivado/2021.2/bin/vivado [-nolog, -nojournal, -mode, batch, -source, /tools/Xilinx/Model_Composer/2021.2/data/xmcGenBoardParts.tcl, -tclargs, /tools/Xilinx/Model_Composer/2021.2/../../Vivado/2021.2, librdi_dsp_tcltasks.so, /tools/Xilinx/Model_Composer/2021.2/data]
The log informs you exactly what the missing package is (in this case it was libtinfo), and also provides you with the script to run after you install the package:
/tools/Xilinx/Vivado/2021.2/bin/vivado -nolog -nojournal -mode batch -source /tools/Xilinx/Vivado/2021.2/scripts/sysgen/tcl/xlpartinfo.tcl -tclargs /tools/Xilinx/Vivado/2021.2/data/parts/installed_devices.txt
Notes:
Make sure to use the Vivado version (here it was 2021.2) and location (here it was /tools/Xilinx) according to your system.
You may need to run the script in sudo if the the permissions for writing are not available in user mode.
I also encounterd this problem on Archlinux with Vivado 2018.3.
But I just installed the library ncurses5-compat-libs, then the problem is solved.
Perhaps you can solve this by checking the library ncurses5-compat-libs.
Download the tar package instead of the self-extracting bin package
Update the java and python version
sudo apt-get install -y python3-pip
Install Dependencies
sudo apt-get install -y libstdc++6
sudo apt-get install -y libgtk2.0-0
sudo apt-get install -y dpkg-dev
NOTE: Without ibtinfo5 the application will not start and without libncurses5 the simulation will fail
`sudo apt-get install -y libtinfo5 libncurses5`
Restart the system
Untar that Vivado package
tar -xzvf Xilinx_Unified_2021.2_1021_0703.tar.gz
Locate the xsetup file in the package
Install the package in batch mode
./xsetup --agree 3rdPartyEULA,XilinxEULA --batch Install --product "Vivado" --edition "Vivado ML Enterprise" --location "/home/USER"
Once the installation has been successfully completed
Locate the settings64.sh file
./settings64.sh
Locate the cable drivers
cd Vivado/2021.2/data/xicom/cable_drivers/lin64/install_scripts/install_drivers
./install_drivers
Installing Vivado Board Files
Get the board package from the git https://github.com/Digilent/vivado-boards.git
From the vivado-board-master package copy the folder board_files undert /vivado-board-master/new/board_files
Paste the board files to Vivado/2021.2/data/boards
From the vivado-board-master package copy the file Vivado_init.tcl under /vivado-board-master/utility
Paste the file Vivado_init.tcl to the Vivado installation
That's it!! You might not need to do all these steps but that is what I ended up doing and it worked for the two machines where I installed Vivado. The installation took less than one hour.

unable to update to Ruby 2.1.4

Currently running Yosemite and unable to update to ruby 2.1.4 , see below.
Guidos-MacBook-Pro:~ Guido$ rvm install 2.1.4
Searching for binary rubies, this might take some time.
No binary rubies available for: osx/10.10/x86_64/ruby-2.1.4.
Continuing with compilation. Please read 'rvm help mount' to get more information on binary rubies.
Checking requirements for osx_brew.

ERROR: '/bin' is not writable - it is required for Homebrew, try 'brew doctor' to fix it!
Requirements installation failed with status: 1.
So after I stepped away from the computer for a few hours and came back again, I figured out the issue was that Homebrew was broken after I updated OS to Yosemite. Here is the link http://ryantvenge.com/2014/09/ruby-homebrea-yosemite/ to the solution. If that is not working see commands below.
To fix Homebrew:
cd /System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions
sudo ln -s Current 1.8
brew update
sudo rm 1.8
To update to ruby 2.1.4:
rvm install 2.1.4
rvm use 2.1.4

DB2 error while loading shared libraries

When i execute 'db2stop' or 'db2start' command on Centos finally 6.4 (Final). I am getting error as follows:
> error while loading shared libraries: libnuma.so.1: cannot open shared
> object file: No such file or directory
I tried as follows commands but it didn't work..
# yum install compat-libstdc++-33
# yum install libaio
waiting your solutions.
I executed the following command and I got it: apt-get install numactl
And also if you get following error
DBT3514W The db2prereqcheck utility failed to find the following 32-bit library file: "/lib/libpam.so*"
then execute
sudo yum install pam.i686

Installing memcached on CentOS 6

I have to admit to be fumbling in the dark here. I am fairly good at PHP but I know little or nothing about managing LINUX servers. I need to install memcached on my 64 bit CentOS 6 server and came across two very informative resources
http://boomshadow.net/tech/installs/how-to-install-memcached/
I followed the steps expained there and the memcached daemon is up and running on my server now. I still need to install the PHP extension for memcache so I tried the steps explained here
http://boomshadow.net/tech/installs/how-to-install-php-memcache/
Here is the output I get
[root#xxx ~]# pecl install memcache

I cannot make a secret of this - most of this is Greek to me. What I think I have figured out is that pecl is looking for a C compiler to build the PHP memcache driver from the downloaded source and cannot find it. Even if that is right it does not help me much.
Just what do I need to do here to get things working correctly.
Old habits die hard, I guess - answering my own question once again.
# yum groupinstall 'Development Tools'
to install development tools including the gcc compiler. The memcahe.so extension uses zlib so you also need to do
# yum install zlib-devel
if you came accross configure: error: no, sasl.h is not available. Run configure with --disable-memcached-sasl to disable this check
ERROR: /var/tmp/memcached/configure --with-libmemcached-dir=no' failed
./configure --enable-memcached-sasl=no
make
make install
pecl install memcached
