T-SQL Debugging Logon Failure - tsql

Server Info:
Windows Server 2008, SQL Server Standard 2008 (64-bit)
I recently upgraded to SQL 2008 and was interested in trying out T-SQL Debugging. Initally encountered some firewall issues, but after disabling my workstation's Windows Firewall and having TCP port 135 and UDP 4500/500 opened up by the IT group I got a little further.
Now I get the error message:
Unable to start T-SQL Debugging. Could not connect to computer 'servername'. Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.
My workstation and server are on different domains and I use Windows authentication to connect to the machine. My account is sysadmin and connects to the server fine in SSMS. The SQL Server service is running as a different service-level account.
Thoughts?

I have seen the same error message. My configuration, however, is different. I am connected from Management Studio 2008 with an SQL user to a SQL Server 2008 instance.
I user a sniffer (Wireshark) to monitor IP traffic en saw the following:
DCERPC Bind: call_id: 5 IRemUnknown2 V0.0, NTLMSSP_NEGOTIATE
DCERPC Bind_ack: call_id: 5, NTLMSSP_CHALLENGE accept max_xmit:
5840 max_recv: 5840
DCERPC AUTH3: call_id: 5, NTLMSSP_AUTH, User:
\
IRemUnknown2 RemRelease request[Malformed Packet]
TCP 49914 > mapper-mapethd [ACK] Seq=247 Ack=526 Win=63846 Len=0
DCERPC Fault: call_id: 5 ctx_id: 0 status: nca_s_fault_access_denied
Note: my actual domain and user have been replaced by and , respectively.
Maybe, this can help you to get more detailled information.
At this point, I am stuck. I tried to give this domain user access to the server, but do not have permission to do so. Also, I am not sure if this is needed, because I connect using an SQL user.

psql with source IP anchoring

I am using PostgreSQL flexible server by MSAzure.
The server is not setting any connection restriction and allows connections from all IPs.
I can access to the server with psql command normally.
psql "host=.postgres.database.azure.com port=5432 dbname=postgres user=myadmin password= sslmode=require"
However, with the Source IP anchoring function by Zscaler Internet Access, it fails.
psql: server closed the connection unexpectedly This probably means the server terminated abnormally before or while processing the request.
I could not find the error logs from server side.
Also I checked the packet and it seems the server sends RST packet as soon as it received connection request message from client.
enter image description here
Source IP Anchoring(SIPA) is a function which fixes source IP by transferring the packet to the proxy cloud, and from proxy cloud to private VM. The VM takes over the connection to the destination server.
Client <-> Proxy Cloud <-> VM <-> sql server
So from client side, it looks like the client is connecting to the proxy cloud.
And from sql server, it seems the server is connecting to VM.
The VM only performs outbound connection and never allows inbound connection.
This means connection pushed from server to client is not supported (like P2P, Application lelvel gateway, SIP, RTSP, Bittorent).
Does Postgresql connection requires inbound connection from server to client?
I tried disabling SSL connection, but the result was same.
The client version and server version are both same.
Also I tried connecting from pgAdmin 4, but failed again.
I'll appreciate any clue on this.

Unable to connect to SQL Server using ipaddress or localhost and portno 1433

I have installed Microsoft SQL Server 2019, I am able to connect using hostname and Windows authentication from SSMS, but when it try to connect to it using localhost or the IP address and port 1433 from SSMS or DBeaver, it doesn't connect.
I have verified the service status, port no, server logs, all looks good but still unable to connect. Can somebody please help?
The issue is resolved after enabling server authentication.steps :-
1. In SSMS right click on conection
2. Go to properties-> security
3. Change authentication mode to windows and SQL server from windows authentication.
After making this change , I am able to connect to the sever using ipaddress.

Can't connect to Google Cloud SQL

I opened a trial account on Google Cloud and I'm having difficulties connection to Cloud SQL.
I made the basic setup, authorizing my IP/32 && adding a new User (appUser).
But I can't open a remote connection to the instance.
mysql -v --host=<ip> --user=appUser --password
Enter password:
ERROR 2003 (HY000): Can't connect to MySQL server on '<ip>' (60)
I'm at work and obviously behind a ton of firewalls and whatnot. Could this be the cause of my problems ?
There is a good change that it is a firewall problem. Error 2003 (from MySQL client manual) means that it can't connect to the server.
Can you try to connect through a computer outside the firewall?

Could not connect to SQL Server 2008 R2 Express

I am using Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Express, suddenly I got a error while I am trying to connect:
TITLE: Connect to Server
Cannot connect to DEBANJAN\SQLEXPRESS.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: -1)
Please help me soon.
There are many points to check to allow remote connection to SQL Server :
Open firewall TCP ports in inbound rules (135, 1433, 1434)
Check that SQL Server use the 1433 port : http://support.webecs.com/kb/a868/how-do-i-configure-sql-server-express-to-allow-remote-tcp-ip-connections-on-port-1433.aspx
Allow TCPIP protocols in SQL Server Configuration Manager (32 & 64 bits)
Enable SQL Browser in SQL Server Configuration Manager
This worked fine for me with Windows Server 2012 R2 & SQL Server 2008 R2 Express SP3.

Configuring SQL Anywhere to read from an ASE server

I have a Sybase ASE server that I'm able to connect to with ASE iSql totally fine. The database definition in my sql.ini file looks like:
[<NAME>]
master=TCP,<servername>,<port>
to connect with iSql, I can make the following command-line call and it works:
isql -U <username> -P <password> -S <NAME>
My ultimate goal is to use SQL Anywhere's ADO.Net Entity Framework connectivity for a RIA service I'm writing. I'm trying to connect now using SQL Anywhere through Sybase Central (rather than through Visual Studio), and can't get it to work. Under the Identification tab, I use and for my credentials and leave the bottom half as "None", under the Database tab, I specify for the Server name, and under Network I check "TCP/IP", and specify as the Host, and as the Port. I get the following error:

I'm sorry in advance if I left out significant details. I'm new to Sybase, having a strictly Oracle background. If I left out anything you need to know, please post a comment and I'll update the question. Thanks for helping a Sybase newb.
There's no way to do what I was asking (though it could be possible with a proxy table, that's not a desirable solution), so I'm not going to use the .Net RIA Services framework. I'm going to be writing a standard ASP.Net web service.
