I'm using Crystal Reports Basic from Visual Studio. Now I want to create a 3D-Block Diagram but the series axis has the text from my columns of the dataset.
Here is how my chart preview looks like

and here is how it is configured in the diagram assistant

All the texts on the series axis should be formatted like Monday, Tuesday, etc. and not Sum of SimultaneousMissionsWeekDayTable.Monday, Sum of SimultaneousMissionsWeekDayTable.Tuesday.
Somebody any clue......
No worries, it's an easy fix:
Go to the Preview window
Right click on the label itself, and choose Edit Axis Label.
You'll see the Original Label and the Displayed Label. Change the Displayed Label to whatever you like.
Edit
Thanks for the pictures. Made it much easier to understand your question.

I'm trying to create a pie chart in Cognos BI that shows complete labels. I can't figure out how to do this. I have included an image that shows how the current report truncates the labels and places three dots (...) at the end of each label. I have a couple questions:
Can what I want to do be accomplished?
Why does every label end with "..." and can they be eliminated?
Update: I'm running Cognos BI 10.1.1
I don't think you you can absolutely prevent it. But you can make the text longer. In your chart, select the label. In the properties, under general, you'll see Text Truncation. Click the ellipse by it. It's probably set to the default of automatic. Change it to manual, and you can put in whatever number of characters you want it to show.
Keep in mind that this can end up giving you some kind of funky looking charts. The hover will show the full value of the column if you need to be able to see it on demand.
I am trying to create a chart in Excel 2013 from a subset of data within a larger report. All the examples show using the headers to create the legend on the chart, but since I am just using select rows in the report, I can't utilize the headers. Is there any way to directly modify the legend, or even indirectly. I am open to any suggestions. Basically, I have a row with multiple data points that I want to graph. The title works out okay, but the legend just indicates 1 and 7 (the columns I am charting). Since I don't want to graph the entire report, I don't seem to be able to capture the column headings.
The words in the legend are sourced from the series name. You can point the series name to any cell in the spreadsheet. In the screenshot, the original series names were one, two and three. In the series definition, they got re-pointed to the cells that say blue, red and green.
Depending on your data and requirements this can be made dynamic.
I am using JasperRepotrs 3.7.5 for generation of reports in my project.
Every thing went fine but when I executed my project in Linux environment, report generated in PDF format as I designed but the legends and graph in my report not showing text like X & Y axis label and text in legends.
Any help on this issue please.
select the chart then go to Properties
Under the BarPlot Properties tick Show Tick Labels
I have 8 charts on a single page for 7 days of a week and one for combined. I want to show legend only once at the end of page.I have made visibility of legends for all 8 charts as Hidden.
I have 3 rows and 3 columns of charts in which i have one space (i.e. 9th box in this 3X3 matrix of charts) free to display the legend.
How could I do that?
Thanks in advance.
Take a look at last tip on this blog post:
http://blog.hoegaerden.be/2009/10/25/pie-chart-techniques/
He overrides the colors from the palette using stored colors in the database.
In Series Properties you select Fill Page and click the Expression. Assuming you store the 6-digit hex value of the color, the expression will be:
="#" & Fields!YourColorCode.Value
This will ensure the colors will be the same across all charts. To create your "legend" just make a table that displays each field with it's color representation.
There is another question here:
SSRS 2008 - Uniform Chart Legends for multi-chart report but the link in the answer no longer works.
SSRS 2008. Working with 3d Area Chart.
In Excel you can label the X, Y, and the Z Axes, but in SSRS I seem to only be able to label the x and y axes and the Z axis labels seem to be only go in the Legend. I don't want a legend though, I need to have the text describing each color area right next to it.
Thank you very much!
Since charting in SSRS 2008 is an implementation of Dundas I contacted their support department where I was told that the feature I'm looking fro does not exist in either the SSRS embedded version or the box version of their product for that chart type. I contacted other chart vendors and found anothe rbig one that does have the feature I seek, but when I attempted to us it in the demo, the results were illegible with no way to format the labels in such a way that they did not cover each other up. I have not yet found a product (outside of Excel) that is able to clearly display labels on the Depth axis.
