Selenium - verify the list of suggestions is displayed - selenium-ide

What command is used to verify the list of suggestions is displayed when typing a letter in text field (example: a)? And how to verify the items in the list start with the letter you typed?

I believe you're talking about something like Google Suggests with autocomplete. Your test would look something like this
Load the page
Enter the value using typeAndWait to let the Ajax call happen
Compare the result to a text blob
The calls would be like this
open(/)
typeAndWait(textId,a)
verifyText(css=div#suggestion:first-child,a*)
Hope that helps

Make uib-typeahead behave like a select or format a select like uib-typehead?

is it possible to make a uib-typeahead behave like a dropdown select ?
I like the style of uib-typeahead when you use typeahead-min-length="0", and when you just click the text input you get all the possible options, so this kind of does what I want...
However, once you selected a first option, and you want to try another one, to get back the full list of options, you need to remove all the text from the input field first... whereas I would like to get it just by clicking the field.
So I would like to always get the full options list whatever text is already input... I know this is a bit against the idea of 'typeahead' if the tool doesn't care what you 'type ahead' ;)...
Another option would be to try and style a select with ng-options to look the same as uib-typeahead but I've read that it was not possible because the select dropdown list was a browser buitlin component. (is that correct?)
Any idea? Many thanks!

vscode extension how to display a form

I wish to create a VSCode extension with an entry form on it - some way of input. So far I have only seen document processing or output for an extension.
How can you display a form of input fields in a vscode extension?
How much data do they need to enter? If it's not much, you should be able to handle it with a series of InputBoxes
From https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/extensionAPI/vscode-api
showInputBox(options?: InputBoxOptions): Thenable<string>
Opens an input box to ask the user for input.
The returned value will be undefined if the input box was canceled (e.g. pressing ESC). Otherwise the returned value will be the string typed by the user or an empty string if the user did not type anything but dismissed the input box with OK.
Parameter Description
options?: InputBoxOptions
Configures the behavior of the input box.
Returns Description
Thenable<string>
A promise that resolves to a string the user provided or to undefined in case of dismissal.
The Visual Studio Code API does not have any native methods to display forms to collect input. You can however, chain together Input Boxes, Quick Picks, etc... You can find all these methods under vscode.window.(...).
If these do not satisfy your needs you can implement a webview which allows you to render integrated HTML in Visual Studio Code and trade messages with the extension.
The most simple aproach would be to simple send all collected data from the form to the extension once you hit the submit button or something similar.
You have a nice little tutorial on how to do that here.
Another approach is to see how far you can go with editing JSON objects in settings.json. I thought I would need a form for 8-10 fields, but it turns out that I can create a settings template that has a series of labels and and entry fields (with type validation).

Live search combo in Ext JS 4.2.2

I'm trying to implement a live search combo. It suppose to work like this:
When I enter a character into the combo field I read the current value and send it as a parameter to the store's url. In the backend the parameter is used to return any value from the database that contains it, so the store behind the combo gets filled only with those filtered values.
As I continue to enter characters into the combo, the parameter should be updated and sent again to the backend and so on, getting like this a smaller and smaller store.
I tryied to achieve this behaviour using the combo's event keypress, even keyup, but the problem is it's impossible for me to get access to the current value from the combo field.
For example, when I entered the "for" string into the combo, how can I obtain this value using the combo object? comboName.getValue() doesn't work, it returns nothing "".
I already saw the live combo example here: http://docs.sencha.com/extjs/4.2.2/#!/example/form/forum-search.html but doesnt help me at all.
So my big question is: how do i get the current value while still editing the combo's field?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
You should be able to use
comboName.getValue();
or
comboName.getRawValue();
Where comboName is your combo box. Are neither working- I note in your post you state getValues() which is an improper method. You may want to also check whether when you're referring to your combo box object, that the reference is actually correct. The first argument from the key events is actually the object itself, so you should be able to do, e.g.
listeners:{
keyup:function(comboBox){
var value = comboBox.getValue() || comboBox.getRawValue();
console.log(value);
}
}
Swapping you the value getting method as appropriate.
I found that the combo already has a quick search behaviour, I just have to set queryMode on 'remote' and some other small configurations. More details here:

javascript in zend_Form_Element_Text

I have an autocompexion app. that works. Server side written in php (search.php)
. Client side in javascript (autocomplexion.js).
In a text field this helps to enter town name by giving towns names that starts with the same letters that are entered in the field.
search.php sort a list of towns in towns.txt and choose the ones that match.
autocomplexion.js helps to select among those proposed towns.
My issue :
In Zend i would use this in a form (zend_Form) in a text field created with Zend_Form_Element_Text.
How do i link this field with autocomplexion.js and search.php.
where do i put search.php and autocomplexion.js
Thanks for your answer
Patrick
Write the PHP search function in an Action in an appropriate controller. Point the JS to this action and I think you are done.

Salesforce: Auto-complete for Lookup field

I have a custom object known as "Companies".I have created a lookup field in a Visual Force page which gives me the list of companies name from the custom object " Companies".I have written a code which makes this lookup field auto-complete like what you have seen in the image attached.(First pic)
The problem: I don't know how to make the lookup field (which takes the list of companies name from custom object" Companies" in "Opportunities" standard object) auto-complete as done in the visual force page. Basically want the field highlighted in yellow in the second picture to auto-complete or give relevant suggestion when I type the first few characters.
Any help on this matter would be appreciated. Thank you
Have you tied enabling Auto Complete for your custom object the search page?
Click Your Name | Setup | Customize | Search | Search Settings.
Check the Lookup Auto-completion check box for your object.
This will give you auto-complete options for recently used items.
http://help.salesforce.com/help/doc/en/search_lookupdialog.htm#auto_complete
You will not be able to embed this customization into a standard page layout like you're using for the Opportunity object in your second screenshot. If that auto-complete is a must-have, then you really only have two options:
Replace the entire Opportunity page layout with a custom VF page
Write a VF component with just the Company lookup field in it and embed it into your Opportunity page layout (this will have to be in its own section, which probably won't look as nice)
This is what you want - http://tapp.ly/autocomplete/
Autocomplete Lookups for Salesforce enables any Salesforce Lookup field to support autocomplete suggestions. Autocomplete Lookups helps your users enter lookup fields reducing data entry tasks and error rates.
Salesforce records suggested as you start typing
Search All fields (Standard Salesforce Lookups only let you search by the Name field)
Results can show any field (E.g. Case Subject rather than Case Number)
