OpenGL Library 3dXML - iphone

Looking for a starting point on importing and displaying a 3DXML model on the iPad. Pretty sure that OpenGL is the way to go, but not seeing any ports that are able to read 3DXML models.
Does anyone have a starting point on this? (Have been looking at GLC_lib, but not seeing an objective C port)
Thanks in advance!

if it's an app you want, I recommend 3DVia Mobile http://www.3dvia.com/products/3dvia-mobile/

Stream screen from Mac to iPhone

I want to create a program that stream the screen of my Mac to my iPhone. Kind of like it is done in Liveview. I'm still relatively new to Objective-C, so I don't know where to start to make such an application.
It seems you have to have something installed both on your Mac and on your iPhone, but how would you actually stream the screen of your Mac to your iPhone?
Hope someone can point me in the right direction.
Update of question
Thanks for the answers. Still seems a bit vague to me and I'm not sure I really need full video streaming. Implementing also seems to be a pain, since there aren't any real good resources for it.
Taking a screenshot every second or so and streaming it to my iPhone as an image, would actually be ok. I've figured out how to stream an image with Bonjour from my Mac to my iPhone.
The screenshot I need to send to my iPhone is of the design that I'm currently working on in photoshop. I've figured out how to take a screenshot and how to get a list of all open windows. But how to make a snapshot of an open PSD-file, I don't know.
Any suggestions on that?
It's a very big subject, so not really something that can be tackled with a simple response. However, I would suggest that one approach would be to write a VNC client for the iPhone. Indeed, this open source exists that's probably worth a look:

I would go with the frequent screenshot approach. You would prepare a screenshot of the item you want to transmit and then use some easy library like my DTBonjour to transmit these objects via WiFi to iOS clients.

If you were using layer-backing then you could also use the renderLayer... methods which would also include sub-layers.
The most fidelity you'd get from encoding the individual screen shots in a streaming video format, though this is way more work.
This is called RFB (or RDP), and most remote-screen applications use RFB/RDP protocol and libraries which implement it.

To mix sounds using OpenAl

Anybody have any idea about how to mix sounds in iphone. We can use OpenAl that i know but need some sample application or code which would be easier for me to understand this concept As i have seen some apples demo application which uses openGl along with openAl and is too confusing for me to understand this as i am new to this openGl environment
Thanks All in advance.
I would suggest you visit here
http://connect.creativelabs.com/openal/Documentation/OpenAL_Programmers_Guide.pdf
and download the guide. There are plenty of code snippets in the guide that can help you build the code base that you need. Works on the iPhone too, I built a mixer once myself :)
Good luck!

how to do image morphing as in FatBooth app - iPhone

I want to build a similar app as fatbooth and want some ideas on how to do this. I googled for Image morphing in iPhone but didn't find anything. Should I use some server side language to morph Image?
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks
Saurabh
The only language you can really use is C# or c++. the maths is very complicated although I am sure you can get a book or two that cover image manipulation.
I don't know if there is an open source morphing framework, but that is your best option - it doesn't have to be specific to the iPhone, but the integration will be hard.
I don't know what you mean about server side, unless there is a server you know of that does it and you want a wrapper around it
For starters, take a look at displacement mapping: http://www.imagemagick.org/Usage/mapping/
Basically, you use grayscale images to bloat/shrink/squeeze/etc parts of a person's face. I made an app called FaceCraze which had to implement a poor man's FatBooth as part of the face transformation, and I used grayscale images very similar to the examples in http://www.imagemagick.org/Usage/mapping/#spherical
edit: You can use the ImageMagick library in your iOS apps too: Link

Port Flash to iPhone

How hard would it be to port a flash game to the iPhone. Obviously Flash CS5 is no longer an options, I still would like to know if there's anything that can be reused? or do I have to write everything from scratch (Is Obj-C that different than ActionScript?) Is there any other shortcuts?
Also, if anyone has done this before please share your experience.
Flash is a very different platform, not only is the language change going to be an issue you're going to be going from Flash's renderer to presumably your own using OpenGL:ES.
Although another method may be to port your app to JavaScript. Both ActionScript and JavaScript are EMCAScript dialects, so very similar in that area, the APIs will be completely different though.
http://paulirish.com/work/gordon/demos/ interesting and slightly related, this is a implementation of Flash in JavaScript.
Note the new Apple T.O.S may affect you, but as far as I'm aware it's still a beta and I'm not Apple or a lawyer so I won't try and decipher it for you.
I am doing the same thing. I am using Cocos2d for iPhone. This is a pretty good 2d game engine. Actually, two apps created with it are in the current top 25. You are going to have to get down and dirty in Objective-C though. Objective-C is different from ActionScript but if you are use to object oriented programming you should be able to make the switch. Programming a Flash game is different than typical game programming done in Objective-C/C/C++. So, if you are familiar with how to do things in the Objective-C/C/C++ game programming world (render loop, capturing inputs, etc), you'll really be ok. If not, you'll have to get use to not having the Flash timeline, dealing with frames, etc. Good luck! You can do it!
read the statements from apple, no its not possible.
For my game Hudriks I used flash to build levels and some animations. For this an animation engine has been developed that supports motion tween, and then wrote JSFL scripts that goes through Flash objects and export to a format that can be parsed in my game.
For writing the JSFL - look for document called Extending Flash.
The rest was developed from scratch using Objective C with OpenGL. Do not see option of 'one-click' compilation or converting from Flash to iPhone (not considering CS5), but with developing extensions for Flash you could reuse some work.
It is hard, but it is possible. I am working on a automatic code converter now.

iPhone game GUI

I think some of you have seen the "cartoon wars" game. does anybody know how to create GUI like that? Does it need OpenGL? or it can be done with iPhone sdk's libs?
thanx in advance
I believe Cartoon Wars was written using the Cocos2d game library.
Yes. The trick with the iPhone is, the more you program, the more cool GUI tricks you can come up with to make your app more exciting. I suggest you write a couple of apps to do simple things, using as many API's as you can cram in. Start with Apple's samples. Maybe combine a few of the samples into one, as a learning experience.
