How can i display combo box like the one you see in the image (Birthday combobox) on this site:
http://www.edumobile.org/iphone/iphone-programming-tutorials/how-to-use-picker-in-iphone/
Is it UITextField or UIButton... How can i create such control?
I think it's a custom button with image that looks like combobox. pressing it opens probably a date picker. You need an image that looks like combobox and to customize your table cell appearance - add a button as accessory view or create a custom cell in IB
You are referring to the screenshot at the top of the article ?
To me it looks like the app is either a WebView or has manually created button image ... to my knowledge there is no native Combo buttons in the UIKit.
Sorry to share the bad news.
Good Luck

My aim is to create a tabbed menubar instead of the traditional menubar presented in the latest TinyMCE 4.7.6. I plan to do this by hiding the menubar, then create a toolbar above the normal toolbar. This new toolbar would consist of buttons with the menu names such as File, Edit, Insert, View etc. When one of these buttons is clicked, the normal toolbar buttons would be replaced with the toolbar buttons under the relevant menu item. [I hope I have been clear to this point.]
In case I haven't worded my description well enough, I want to create something like the Microsoft Word 2013 menu style.
Here's my problem. I am unable to create the toolbar that would host the menu buttons (File, Edit etc buttons). The TinyMCE docs say nothing about creating custom toolbars. All there is, is on creating toolbar buttons and adding them to an existing toolbar. Anyone with an idea how this can be done? Thanks.
This is quite some work you want to do, so first of all let me tell you a "ribbon" skin is already existing, check it here
Now if you really want to make your own, first you have to understand the difference between a menubar and a toolbar
On this image there is one menubar and two toolbars
Here is the documentation for the menubar API and for the toolbar this is here
But you should really give a try to the existing skin first.
I'm new to iphone programming. there are lot of basic controls in xcode which i can implement but i want to know how to create the control shown below in iphone.
It is not present in list of control objects in xcode
There are no default dropdown implementations available for iPhone. You can try to implement a UIPickerView or UIActionSheet based on the requirement.
If you cannot modify your design, you can go ahead and implement your own dropdown implementation. Basically you need to have a button with the above image as background view and on tap of that you need to show a table view below that. Alternatively you can check this custom dropdown list and this Drop Down Demo iOS.
Xcode does not provide this control. You can create custom control with a table view and Button.Show the table view when you click on it and hide it on again clicking on it.You can also add images on background for the same look.
i am new to iPhone programming...
can any body help me out please...
in my app i am displaying an image, transparent html page with text about that image and there is audio instead of html text...
in the bottom tool bar i have button 'VIEW".. i want this button to show the 3 (radio or normal) buttons in a list like drop up list(for enable/disable the bgimage, audio, text)...
How to display the list of buttons when i click on VIEW button...
Thank u
iPhone does not have a build in radio list. You need to implement your custom view to make one. You may try to inherit table view to create a selection list. And for the on / off part, you can try UISwitch.
I am new to iphone development.I have text on the button.I want only test to be displayed and not the button border or color .It should be transparent such that only there is text in view and not the button. It is possible to do that in interface builder? Please help me out. Thanks.
Select "Custom" as the button's type in the inspector. However, I would recommend against such design unless it's really necessary because if a button doesn't look like a button it may be confusing to your users.
is there a way to display a hyperlink in an iPhone native app. Is this done with a label or another UI object?
Thanks!
Joe
Take a look at Three20 TTStyledText class
Create a custom UIButton with only text (no background image) and write an IBAction on its click - you have a hyperlink...
You can embed your text along with hyper link mark ups in a uiwebview object via a static HTML file. Another way is to show the link text on a uibutton and upon click of that button open safari to navigate to the link
I suggest the following solution: Display the htperlink text as a label and put a detailed disclusure button after it. (Detailed disclosure button is an arrowhead in a circle (>). Set the button title to the url, and make an IBAction that handle the click of the button. In this action you can create a new UIWebView, display it and load the URL into it.
There is actually built-in support for this with a UITextView. Check out the accepted answer to this stackoverflow question: How to add hyperlink in iPhone app?
