Facebook Like-Button - hide count?
I need facebook like button without count information. I tried it with giving 50px width. but when someone "like" the page its turn in "you liked it" and distorting the UI.
I need just like image without counr.
Thanks
Suren

Can you wrap it in div containers w/ absolute dimensions & float it. . . so the overflow wont disrupt anything.

Just give a width of 47px and it seems to works fine. I think they have changed the UI recently - now when you like it there is just a tickbox added to the like button and it doesn't distort the UI.

NB. Facebook localizes the button - so the "like" button might be in a different language. Then of course this image is not a standard width - so you cant guarantee being able to hide it by setting width of iframe or css settings.

I do not think it is possible. The whole UI is driven from Facebook and you can see all the variations here http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like/
However, if you want, you may apply some CSS/JavaScript hack. The count is under uiGrid class, you may target this element and set display none after the page has rendered. In JQuery, you would $('.uiGrid').hide()
But the suggestion above is not recommended.

Here's a question with several much more detailed answers to the different ways of doing this:
http://facebook.stackoverflow.com/questions/2950172/facebook-like-button-hide-count
There are apparently a few cases where the answer is slightly different -- one for the javascript version, one with the iframe version, etc.

Is there a way to add extra margin space to a page in PDFKit/PDFView?

This is perhaps a more general question as I'm looking for ideas on how to approach a problem working with PDFView/PDFKit. I have a small sample application that allows you to display a page, select a range of text and then associate a comment with that text. Once the comment is saved the comment is displayed on the PDFView page in the margin via an overridden draw() function for PDFView.
Problem is that with very small margins the comments can be very squished. I've been looking for a straight-forward solution and would very much appreciate ideas on how to address it.
The obvious (ie, easy) solution is to change the actual "page size" in the PDFView and have wider margins, but of course PDFKit has no support for that (I don't think). Another thought was to go to a custom PDFView library but the only ones I found when I last looked were iOS (not Cocoa) based.
Last idea was to instead of drawing directly on the page have some sort of pop-up window (like a sticky-note) contain the note but then it would need to be moved dynamically with the scrolling of the page. And of course one other was to recreate the PDF dynamically for viewing and make all the pages larger... but I've not dug into how much of a performance hit / effort that would entail.
Maybe there's a simple/obvious solution that I've missed?
I created a simple sample app in gitHub which shows the basic functionality for people to play with if that's of help. https://github.com/jcnolan/PDFMarginTextView

How can I add a page break in such a way that it bumps up page-anchored images?

I have lots of images on lots of pages that are all page-anchored. I want to insert a page before them all. But inserting a regular page break doesn't do it. It just bumps up the text, not the page-anchored images. Is this possible?
In most cases, it's not recommended to anchor images to the page. Instead, anchor to a paragraph and then position the image on the page.
Page-anchored images are fixed to a particular page, or you may think of it as a particular page number and the numbering does not change. This behavior has been reported as a bug. However, according to Mike Kaganski (a LO developer), it is not a bug but is intended behavior.

Wordpress slider with filters & thumbnails outwith the slider

I am looking to create a slider within wordpress that is a little out of the norm and was wondering if anyone could give me advice on how to go about it.
I'd like a slider for a meet the team page on our website.
I am hoping the slider could work as normal but have filters on the left for departments and thumbnails below and outwith the slider with each employee on there.
I would like these thumbnails to be clickable and for the matching slide to appear when the thumbnail is clicked.
Can anyone suggest a plugin or a method to create this kind of thing?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Well i think you are referring to isotope jquery plugin. It filters down items based on the selected tag. Its actually free but you will have to create modify it for your needs. If you are using bootstrap you can get the idea of implimentation from here.

Here is a paid wordpress plugin that can do that for you.

Trying to delete white space in Facebook Like box

I a working on a client's website and decided to add a "Facebook Like Box" (example). I was working in the Facebook Developers page. I am a Joomla developer (2.5x platform) I am trying to figure out how to delete the white space from the title of the like box WAY down to where my pictures are... Any suggestions on how to do this or where I need to go into Facebook to correct this??
I tried to re-size the height, BUT once I did that to make it smaller, it cut off my pictures.
Your help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: ok, stack overflow does not understand the URLs so you'll have to copy and paste or use the short link.
That's a frame, short link: http://on.fb.me/152cjgH

The big white space is the stream so change the values you're requesting, namely
remove &stream=true
and change &height=558 to &height=300 or something

Facebook hide content from non-fans in a unique way

I need to build a tab looking like this one:
https://www.facebook.com/auto.co.il/app_134594493332806
I know how to add an image and a comment box and i know of several "plain" ways to hide the content from non-fans, but i came across the above tab and i really like the way it shows thee content yet you cant engage it until you press the like button.
Any help please?
Thanks in advance.
Oren
Your link didn't work for me, but you can place a absolutely positioned div with a high z-index above the rest of your content to prevent the user from clicking on anything.
Update: Now that the link has been updated I see that they are doing exactly what I described above. In chrome if you right-click the background and select "inspect element" you will see the following computed style for the div:
rgba(0,0,0,0.796);
display:block;
height:1612px;
width:810px;
The content is blacked out simply with a div with a black background and some opacity. Just for fun, you can overcome their like gate (without liking) via chrome's JS console by selecting the iframe context and then entering the following:
$('.like_float_c').detach();
... now call youself a 'hacker' ;)
