I like the way netbeans folds functions and methods automatically when opening the file. I use notepad++ as well but when I use folding it will fold everything including html, if else conditions and functions. I would love to have the option to fold functions only. Does anyone know any plug-in that does that or maybe there is a setting somewhere in notepad++ that I missed.
Thanks
There is a level shortcut: ALT (1-8) to fold and ALT+SHIFT (1-8) to Unfold
It folds everything in the same level:
level 2
<html>
<head>
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>

I've been currently using the Brackets.io editor, and it has lots of extensions and so on, which is pretty good. Anyway, I couldn't find any extensions to do precisely what I want, so I came here in hope any of you guys could help me.
Well, as you know, on Netbeans, when you type a tag, such as P, the editor closes it, and if you then press ENTER, it automatically auto indents the code as the following:
<p>
Example
</p>
Is there a way to do so on Brackets.io, in the same, same way?
Thank you all for your attention :)
Emmet does that.
Typing the following keys < p > RETURN a does the following :
Without Emmet:
<p>
a</p>
With Emmet:
<p>
a
</p>
By the way, Emmet is a very cool tool, and you can obtain the same result faster with the following keys :
p TAB RETURN a
I'd like to highlight one or two words in a <HTML></HTML> section in a dokuwiki (2014-05-05 "Ponder Stibbons") page like I'd do outside of the section with ''one or two words'' or with apostrophe in SE markdown. How can I achieve that? Example (embedded HTML option has to be enabled in configuration):
====== Title ======
<HTML>
<ul>
<li>Magic should happen ''here'', except not with '' because it isn't recognized</li>
</ul>
</HTML>
The following doesn't suit my needs
<tt>one two</tt> simply doesn't look the same
Besides this I don't have any ideas...
Try enclosing the string in " tag like "key" i.e. " tag appended with semicolon
May be misunderstood your question , now more clear
Try something like this if it helps by enclosing in code tags as shown in :
https://www.dokuwiki.org/faq:lists
Magic should happen 'here', expect not with because it isn't recognized
Also,check out the following link :
https://www.dokuwiki.org/wiki:syntax
When you type out the word like so
and then press tab it autocompletes to something like so...
But I want it to look something more along the lines of this
This is one of Sublime's built in snippets. You can edit the default one or create a new one. To edit the existing,
Preferences > Browse Packages
Open HTML folder
Edit html.sublime-template
The default snippet is below:
<snippet>
<content><![CDATA[<html>
<head>
<title>$1</title>
</head>
<body>
$0
</body>
</html>]]></content>
<tabTrigger>html</tabTrigger>
<scope>text.html</scope>
</snippet>
The content you want to edit is between <![CDATA[ and ]]>. The $0 and $1 variables are placeholders for content and once Sublime Text renders the snippet, you can move between the placeholders by pressing tab.
In ST2 when you type div.foo and then press tab it goes to <div class="foo"></div>
Is there any setting to do autocompletion like that?
<div class="foo">
// 4spaces here.
</div>
Thank you.
UPDATED
Didn't find a special setting but found where to change snippet if someone intested.
In Sublime Text 2/Packages/HTML/html_completions.py just change
snippet = "<{0} class=\"{1}\">$1$0".format(tag, arg)
to
snippet = "<{0} class=\"{1}\">\n\t$1\n$0".format(tag, arg)
Solved.
You must be using emmet.... stock sublime text 2 does not auto complete class attribute from typing element.class that is emmet's doing. I use it... I love that emmet magic.
Similarly you could type element>element to make the second one nest on the first one. or element#id to add an id instead of a class...
Here is an entire cheat sheet for emmet for more completions using emmet plugin on ST2.
Make sure your page is on HTML. You can do this with CTRL+SHIFT+P. Then type 'set html'.
Then you can type div.class_name followed by TAB.
I am trying to find and replace this lines:
<div id="fixed_bottom"></div>
</div>
<jsp:include flush="true" page="../includes/footer.jsp"/>
with this:
<jsp:include flush="true" page="../includes/footer.jsp"/>
<div id="fixed_bottom"></div>
</div>
And I do not know how to find them, because there are two line breaks in the sentence.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you so much!
\n or \r\n indicate line break in a regular expression depending on what OS you are on. See http://www.regular-expressions.info/reference.html for more help on regular expressions
If you are using the built in Eclipse "Search File" with the regular expression box checked it will build the search string for you (if you had it highlighted before you opened search box). Note if you have to check the regular expression box you need to close the dialog and re open to get it to refresh. From there you can see Eclipse uses the somewhat odd \R for newlines.
