I am write code for scrollview and add button on it but button not appear in scrollview.
My code
tableProductScrollView=[[UIScrollView alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(75, 442, 874, 208)];
tableProductScrollView.delegate=self;
[tableProductScrollView setBackgroundColor:[UIColor clearColor]];
[tableProductScrollView setCanCancelContentTouches:YES];
tableProductScrollView .indicatorStyle = UIScrollViewIndicatorStyleBlack;
tableProductScrollView .pagingEnabled = YES;
tableProductScrollView.showsVerticalScrollIndicator = YES;
[tableProductScrollView setContentSize:CGSizeMake(1748,208)];
[tableProductScrollView setScrollEnabled:YES];
[self.view addSubview:tableProductScrollView];
CGRect frameProduct1 = CGRectMake(85, 445, 142, 150);
tableProduct1Button = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom];
tableProduct1Button.frame = frameProduct1;
UIImage *imgProduct1= [UIImage imageNamed:#"product6-small.png"];
[tableProduct1Button setImage:imgProduct1 forState:UIControlStateNormal];
tableProduct1Button.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor];
tableProduct1Button.highlighted = YES;
//---add the action handler and set current class as target---
[tableProduct1Button addTarget:self
action:#selector(homeButtonAction)
forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
[tableProductScrollView addSubview: tableProduct1Button];
please give me suggestion.
maybe:
UIButton *tableProduct1Button =
[UIButton
buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom];
Try to make a round rect button with some color and then see if you are able to see the button or else check the frame. Or try to set an image for the highlighted state.
[tableProduct1Button setImage:image1 forState:UIControlStateHighlighted];

I had an application in which i am setting the content size of the scroll view dynamically according to the number of buttons which i am creating from an array.like this `
for(int i =0;i<[sarray count];i++)
{
NSMutableDictionary *dicttable=[sarray objectAtIndex:i];
NSString *head=[dicttable objectForKey:#"cat"];
btn= [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom];
int j=i+1;
btn.frame = CGRectMake((j-1)*87,0,87, 44);
[btn setBackgroundImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"bar.png"] forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[btn setBackgroundImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"bar_hvr.png"] forState:UIControlStateSelected];
btn.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor];
btn.titleLabel.font = [UIFont fontWithName:#"Helvetica-Bold" size:14];
btn.titleLabel.textColor = [UIColor whiteColor];
[btn setTitle:head forState:UIControlStateNormal];
btn.tag = i;
[btn setShowsTouchWhenHighlighted:YES];
[Scroller addSubview:btn];
[btn addTarget:self action:#selector(buttonTapped:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
if(btn.tag==0)
{
sendActionsForControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
}
else
{
btn.selected=NO;
}
}
}
[Scroller setContentSize:CGSizeMake([sarray count]*85, 44)];
`
but here the problem is after the last button also the scroll view scrolls .it need not to be happend,i need the scrolling ends with last button on the view,can anybody help me on this
set scrollview bounces to NO
scrollView.bounces = NO;
yes as you said it looses the smoothness. But no other choice. If you found any sol please update the answer.
hey i am sending you complete example to make button dynamicay and seting the content size scrollview on number of count ,i had just given u one example code u have to set the size of frame of button as u requried
UIScrollView *scroll_View=[[UIScrollView alloc]initWithFrame:self.view.bounds];
[self.view addSubview:scroll_View];
int y=0;
for(int i =1;i<10;i++)
{
// NSMutableDictionary *dicttable=[sarray objectAtIndex:i];
// NSString *head=[dicttable objectForKey:#"cat"];
UIButton* btn= [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeRoundedRect];
btn.frame = CGRectMake(y,89,100, 50);
[btn setBackgroundImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"bar.png"] forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[btn setBackgroundImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"bar_hvr.png"] forState:UIControlStateSelected];
btn.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor];
btn.titleLabel.font = [UIFont fontWithName:#"Helvetica-Bold" size:14];
NSString *str=[NSString stringWithFormat:#"%d",i];
btn.titleLabel.textColor = [UIColor whiteColor];
[btn setTitle:str forState:UIControlStateNormal];
btn.tag = i;
[btn setShowsTouchWhenHighlighted:YES];
[scroll_View addSubview:btn];
[btn addTarget:self action:#selector(buttonTapped:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
y=110*i;
}
[scroll_View setContentSize:CGSizeMake(y, 400)];
enjoy coding
You just declare one yMargin variable of type CGFloat and initialize it with some required value as 0. Now every time whenever you are adding a new subview vertically do y+=lbl.frame.size.height;
Now setContentSize:CGSizeMake([sarray count]*85, y margin+someRequiredMargin)];
(someRequiredMargin - you want to add below )
My button is not responding to touch events, please find the code snippet as below.
I have added UIButton to UIView and set the UIView to UITableView's footerview.
Please let me know and thanks.
CGRect tblViewFrame = CGRectMake(self.view.bounds.origin.x, self.view.bounds.origin.y, self.view.bounds.size.width, 300);
self.tblViewSettings = [[[UITableView alloc]initWithFrame:tblViewFrame style:UITableViewStyleGrouped]autorelease];
self.tblViewSettings.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor];
self.tblViewSettings.showsVerticalScrollIndicator = FALSE;
self.tblViewSettings.delegate = self;
self.tblViewSettings.dataSource = self;
self.tblViewSettings.scrollEnabled = YES;
// Set the background color
self.view.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor];
UIView *buttonView = [[[UIView alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(10,10, 320, 60)]autorelease];
self.signoutButton = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeRoundedRect];
self.signoutButton.frame = CGRectMake(10,10, 300, 40);
UIImage *image = [[UIImage imageNamed:#"btn-large1.png"] stretchableImageWithLeftCapWidth:22 topCapHeight:0];
NSString *strSignOut = NSLocalizedString(#"Sign Out", #"SignOut Button");
[self.signoutButton setTitle:strSignOut forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[self.signoutButton setTitleColor:[UIColor whiteColor] forState:UIControlStateNormal];
self.signoutButton.titleLabel.shadowOffset = CGSizeMake(0, -1);
[self.signoutButton setBackgroundImage:image forState:UIControlStateNormal];
self.signoutButton.titleLabel.font = [UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:20.0];
[self.signoutButton addTarget:self action:#selector(signOutBtnTapped:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
buttonView.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor];
[buttonView addSubview:self.signoutButton];
buttonView.userInteractionEnabled = YES;
//[self.view addSubview:buttonView];
self.tblViewSettings.tableFooterView = buttonView;
self.tblViewSettings.tableFooterView.userInteractionEnabled = YES;
[self.view addSubview:self.tblViewSettings];
-(IBAction)signOutBtnTapped:(id)sender{
}
I have looked at your code and applied it to my project. actually it works. i did not change anything from your code. i guess u must check out the frames of table view and the bottom view as everything else is working fine.
Try capturing the event for UIControlEventTouchDown instead of UIControlEventTouchUpInside in
[self.signoutButton addTarget:self action:#selector(signOutBtnTapped:) forControlEvents: UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
Everything else seems OK.
for Adding button in Footer view Section
- (UIView *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView viewForFooterInSection:(NSInteger)section
{
UIView* customView;
customView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0.0, 0.0, 320.0, 60.0)];
UIButton *Login_Btn = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom];
[Login_Btn setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"btn_login.png"] forState:UIControlStateNormal];
Login_Btn.frame = kiPhoneButtonFrame;
[customView addSubview:Login_Btn];
[Login_Btn addTarget:self
action:#selector(Login_Btn_Clicked:)
forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
return customView;
}
And Button Click Method
-(IBAction)Login_Btn_Clicked:(id)sender
{
// Code for button CLick which you want to do.
}
Hi I have a UIButton that I created programmatically but unfortunately its not working. When I click on the UIButton nothing happens. I don't know what is the problem. Any help would be appreciated.
UIButton *connectedStories = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeRoundedRect];
//set the position of the button
connectedStories.frame = CGRectMake(10, 10, 1900, 30);
connectedStories.backgroundColor = [UIColor whiteColor];
[connectedStories setTitle:#"Button" forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[connectedStories setTitleColor:[UIColor blackColor] forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[connectedStories addTarget:self action:#selector(buttonClicked) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
[label setText:storyTitle];
[label1 setText:storyDescription];
[contentView addSubview:backGroundImageView];
[contentView addSubview:connectedStories];
[contentView addSubview:label];
[contentView addSubview:label1];
[viewContainer addSubview:contentView];
return contentView;
- (void)buttonClicked
{
NSLog(#"button clicked");
}
I think labels recives touches instead of button.
Add userInteractionEnabled = NO; to your labels.
label.userInteractionEnabled = NO;
label1.userInteractionEnabled = NO;
Try changing the top part of your code to this:
CGRect frame = CGRectMake(10, 10, 1900, 30);
UIButton *connectedStories = [[UIButton alloc] initWithFrame:frame];
//set the position of the button
[connectedStories setBackgroundColor:[UIColor whiteColor]];
[connectedStories setTitle:#"Button" forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[connectedStories setTitleColor:[UIColor blackColor] forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[connectedStories addTarget:nil action:#selector(buttonClicked) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
It may very well be the following:
[contentView addSubview:backGroundImageView];
[contentView addSubview:connectedStories];
[contentView addSubview:label];
[contentView addSubview:label1];
im sure you would need to add them in the following order:
[contentView addSubview:backGroundImageView];
[contentView addSubview:label];
[contentView addSubview:label1];
[contentView addSubview:connectedStories];
This is because when you call addSubview: it adds it to end of the receivers list of subViews and the most recent subView appears on top.
Check out the UIView Documentation here
the reason that the Interaction isn't being detected is that you are not passing the touchEvents through to the other subViews as they are being captured by label1 and stopping there.
By default the last subView captures all touch events and doesn't pass them on.
Add the colon in last of your method in selector
[connectedStories addTarget:self action:#selector(buttonClicked:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
[label setText:storyTitle];
UIButton *custombutton = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeRoundedRect];
[custombutton addTarget:self
action:#selector(aMethod:)
forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
[custombutton setTitle:#"Click" forState:UIControlStateNormal];
custombutton.frame = CGRectMake(80.0, 110.0, 160.0, 40.0);
custombutton.titleLabel.textColor = [UIColor colorWithRed: 2.0f/255.0f green: 155.0f/255.0f blue: 213.0f/255.0f alpha:1];
[custombutton setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"hh.png"] forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[view addSubview:custombutton];
I have created UIToolbar control.which is added as setInputAccessoryView to one UITextField Control.Which works fine. the tollbar comes up with uikeyboard when tapping UITextField.Up to this no issues.
When i placed one button, when tapping on it i want to hide the keyboard and only want to display the toolbar.
This is not happening.the toolbar is getting hidden.
Please let me know , what is the problem/ reason in the code.
Thanks for your time.
- (void)viewDidLoad {
[super viewDidLoad];
//
myToolbar = [[UIToolbar alloc] init];
[myToolbar sizeToFit];
myToolbar.frame = CGRectMake(0,198, 320, 35);
myToolbar.barStyle = UIBarStyleBlackTranslucent;
[self.view addSubview:myToolbar];
UIImage *image = [UIImage imageNamed:#"orangebuttonsmall.png"];
UIButton *aButton = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom];
aButton.frame = CGRectMake(0, 100, image.size.width, 25 );
aButton.contentVerticalAlignment = UIControlContentVerticalAlignmentCenter;
[aButton setTitle:#"Tap" forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[aButton setBackgroundImage: image forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[aButton setTitleColor:[UIColor blackColor] forState:UIControlStateNormal];
aButton.titleLabel.font = [UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:10];
[aButton addTarget:self action:#selector(aCenterBtnClicked:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
[self.view addSubview:aButton];
myToField = [[UITextField alloc] init];
myToField.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 48);
myToField.textColor = [UIColor blackColor]; //text color
myToField.font = [UIFont systemFontOfSize:17.0]; //font size
myToField.placeholder = #"To:"; //place holder
myToField.backgroundColor = [UIColor whiteColor]; //background color
myToField.autocorrectionType = UITextAutocorrectionTypeNo; // no auto correction support
myToField.keyboardType = UIKeyboardTypePhonePad; // type of the keyboard
myToField.returnKeyType = UIReturnKeyDone; // type of the return key
myToField.clearButtonMode = UITextFieldViewModeWhileEditing;
[myToField setInputAccessoryView:myToolbar];
myToField.textAlignment = UITextAlignmentLeft;
[myToField setContentVerticalAlignment:UIControlContentVerticalAlignmentCenter];
myToField.rightViewMode=UITextFieldViewModeAlways;
// has a clear 'x' button to the right
myToField.delegate = self;
[myToField becomeFirstResponder];
[self.view addSubview:myToField];
}
-(void)aCenterBtnClicked:(id)sender{
[myToField resignFirstResponder];
myToolbar.frame = CGRectMake(0,198, 320, 35);
myToolbar.barStyle = UIBarStyleBlackTranslucent;
[self.view addSubview:myToolbar];
}
inputAccessoryViews are placed as a subview on the UIKeyboard, if you hide the keyboard, it will hide the inputAccessoryView. Try adding the toolbar as a subview of self.view and animate it's position up when the keyboard is displayed by subscribing to the UIKeyboardWillShow notification and pulling the animation duration from the userInfo.
You try for static toolbar i think that will be easy for you.I am not done before remove from setinputview because there is no method for remove set input view.
guys, i want to click my uiButton after it's added to UIImageVIew, but it doesn't work.
this is my code :
UIButton *btnDetail = [[UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeDetailDisclosure]retain];
btnDetail.frame = CGRectMake(0,0,100,100);
[btnDetail addTarget:self action:#selector(buttonClicked) forControlEvents:UIControlEventAllTouchEvents];
[self.imageView addSubview:btnDetail];
the button can't click when i add it to UIImageVIew, but if i don't add it to UIImageView, it works properly.
please somebody help me
Note: By default the UserInteraction property of UIImageView is set to NO. This the place where most of us makes mistake.
So the main thing to check in while adding any control to UIImageView is to set its UserInteractionEnabled property to YES.
[self.imageView setUserInteractionEnabled:YES];
So modify your code as below:
UIButton *btnDetail = [[UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeDetailDisclosure]retain];
btnDetail.frame = CGRectMake(0,0,100,100);
[btnDetail addTarget:self action:#selector(buttonClicked) forControlEvents:UIControlEventAllTouchEvents];
[self.imageView addSubview:btnDetail];
[self.imageView bringSubviewToFront:btnDetail];
[self.imageView setUserInteractionEnabled:YES];
HAppy Coding...
UIImageView has userInteractionProperty set to NO by default so it does not handle touches and does not propagate them to its subviews. Try to set it to YES:
self.imageView.userInteractionEnabled = YES;
hey i had use this code. its working properly
UIButton *button = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeRoundedRect];
button.frame = CGRectMake(80.0, 210.0, 100.0, 20.0);
[button addTarget:self action:#selector(show) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
[button setTitle:#"ShowView" forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[image2 addSubview:button];
[image2 bringSubviewToFront:button];
[image2 setUserInteractionEnabled:YES];
If someone has interaction problem with UIButton in UIImageView do next steps.
1 Create property of UIImageView:
#property (nonatomic, strong) UIImageView *buttonImageView;
2 Than synthesize it:
#synthesize buttonImageView = _buttonImageView;
3 Create implementation method:
- (UIImageView *) buttonImageView {
_buttonImageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 100)];
[_buttonImageView setBackgroundColor:[UIColor whiteColor]];
[_buttonImageView setUserInteractionEnabled:YES];
UIButton *addButton = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeRoundedRect];
[addButton setTitle:#"add button" forState:UIControlStateNormal];
addButton.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 160, 50);
[addButton setUserInteractionEnabled:YES];
[addButton setEnabled:YES];
[addButton setAlpha:1];
[addButton addTarget:self action:#selector(addNewImage) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
return _buttonImageView;
}
4 For example in viewDidLoad method add subview to your view:
[self.view addSubview:self.buttonImageView];
