is it possible to create new default settings in an iPhone App on the fly?
I know how to modify existing ones but have not been able to find some code snippets to create brand new ones.
Your help is much appreciated.
Kind Regards
Vlad
You need to use NSUserDefaults.... look here for documentation and here for an example on how to use it.

Totara is a distribution of Moodle, so you can use the development guides at http://docs.moodle.org/dev.
To create a block see https://docs.moodle.org/dev/Blocks

Hi I am stuck please help me...
Is it possible to load dynamic data in the settings bundle, exactly what i need is when user sets a value for a preference, i need to display a list for the next preference, this list should be drawn from an online database. I have seen some thing similar in iPhone's default settings. Can anybody please give a solution for this as i am really screwed now. If it is not possible then i will include the settings in the app itself.
Thanks in advance
It is not possible to have dynamic values in Apple's settings application; they need to be specified in Settings.bundle before compilation. I recommend you implement a custom settings screen.
Does anyone know if there is an open source project for an UIView element that acts in a similar way to the lock screen for the iPhone.
I am working on an app that has some sensitive data, and I want to add another layer of comfort for users, to be able to setup a 4 digit pin number on the app.
I've seen apps like LoseIt and Weightbot that have similar functionality.
There isn't any element for this in the UI Library from what I've been able to find, and was hoping some kind soul might have open sourced something similar to this.
Thanks in advance!!!
Thanks to Andiih above for the answer, because I found an open source version on GitHub based on the name of the one he found.
http://github.com/haroldthehungry/CPLockController
Its not a free component, but check out http://www.drobnik.com/touch/parts-store/ the DTPinLockController - I think this does what you want.
And another open source one (BSD license) is at:

New iPhone App - How to Choose which Xcode Template to Use?
Thanks
If you have a hierarchy of views in which you go from general to specific information, then you want the navigation template.
However, most of the time, the templates are just starting points for learning. In most cases, you will have an app that is a combination so you start with the generic windows-based template and then flesh it out yourself.
If there is a similar application on the AppStore you may like to see how they have approached it, generally there is something similar that can help you clarify how you would like your application to function.
From the sounds of your application idea you would probably be best served by the Navigation template. But after all it is only a template, you can completely change the structure of the application later without needing to start another project.
Hope you all are fine and are in your best of moods.
I herewith one doubt to ask you, kindly help me by giving its solution.
I need to add one custom field in existing built in Contact Application of iPhone.
I mean i need to allow user to set different icon or Logo for different contact.
so i need to add one field namely icon or Logo in existing application.
But I don't know how to do this, weather it is possible or not or is there any alternate solution for that or not???
kindly post your Answers.
Thanks in Advance.
You cannot add fields to the built in Address Book datastore. You could perhaps achieve your goals by one of two solutions:
make a copy of the data and add your data to that. You will hit sync problems
Use some property (perhaps ABPropertyID) of the AB information to key a local database referencing your icons.
I'm assuming what you actually want to do is add an icon to the address book app - there is certainly no way to do that.
