Suggestion for camera overlay - iphone

Hi i want to make a applciation in which the user when open the application the camera gets open and then user can type with camera being on .
I need some sugestions for this or any link or some helping tutorial will do .
I think after opening camera we need to set a transparent overlay contoller on it and text field on that overlay controller .Am i on correct path .
Any suggestions are welcomed.

Yep, that’s about the right approach. Check out the UIImagePickerController docs, specifically its cameraOverlayView property (which you can set to a transparent view containing your UITextView or UITextField to have it overlaid onto the camera view) and the showsCameraControls property (which you can set to NO to hide the built-in “take picture” button and focus controls and whatnot).

How to create a translucent layer on click of button, which would slide up for iphone

Hi I want to create a layer of the type in the image below.
The layer (with Capture mode and Shutter speed) slides up when I click on the setting button.
I am unable to figure out what should I do do create something like this. Also want to have the similar translucency in the layer as well as in the buttons on it also.
On click on the same button again, the layer(with Capture mode and Shutter speed) disappears, leaving what was there on the screen before (the camera view and the lower bar with the camera capture button, and the two setting buttons)
Please any suggestions are much appreciated.
Thanks
Maybe you can create a UIView and place every button you need there, and place it below the screen size. then when you click the setting button you call core animation to move the view up, click setting again to move it down.

Customization of UIImagePickerController

I am working on camera application in which I want to set the screen of the camera i.e camera window appear for particular frame. And in front of camera screen the cut out image is coming so that user can see the background through the cut out part of the image and capture the image. So any one know to do this i.e. customization of UIImagePickerController.
UIImagePickerController has a property named cameraOverlayView. Use this to set your camera overlay as any view you like. Use normal view transparency for letting the user see parts of the live camera view.

Display 2 images at the same time in UIScrollView

I'm quite new to iPhone development, and now dealing with a remote control app. Currently I can receive desktop image and perform simple mouse operations. But I still want to show a mouse pointer on my iPhone screen.
The desktop (very big, 1280X800) is in a image view which is the subview of a scroll view. Is there any way I can add a pointer image on top of the desktop image, and set it to any place I want? The pointer image do not receive any user interaction, it would be just floating on the desktop image.
Thank you very much for help.
Yes, just create a new UIImageView (or any other UIView subclass) with a frame based on where you want it to appear and add it to the scroll view's view using the addSubview: method. By default subviews you add later will appear above subviews you add earlier, but you can explicitly control which view appears on 'top' using 'bringSubviewToFront:'.

Tabbar Application with camera

I want to implement camera in a Tab Bar application. I have been able to make the camera appear but there is no capture button to capture the image. How can I customize the camera view so that the capture button appears?
Thank you.
Normally you should get an image like this. Clicking on the camera icon will take the photo.
Arn't you getting like this? Then check your UIImagePickerController and its delegates.

Codes for ImageViewPickerControllerSourceTypeCamera

My problem is that i want to replace the camera view with my own view that will capture the image and then again get the same controls of iPhone camera after capturing the image ie.
'Retake' and 'use' will appear.
please reply me
You can use the cameraOverlayView to replace your UI and set showsCameraControls to NO to not use Apple's buttons.
