Eclipse Adobe plugin causes crash - eclipse

I installed the Adobe Flash Builder 4.5 which includes the eclipse plugin.
I want 2 use my existing eclipse, so I copied the contents of plugin and features folder to existing eclipse folder.
I see the Flex features in Eclipse, but trying to open the Flex Builder Path causes eclipse to crash. Error Message is :
"Please uninstall and reinstall the product
If this problem still occurs, please contact Adobe technical support for help, and mention the error code shown at the bottom of this screen.
Error : 1
http://www.adobe.com/support/ "
How do i resolve this?

Copying those folders manually is not the correct approach. Navigate to the "utilities" folder inside the Flash Builder 4.5 installation directory and find a file called "Adobe Flash Builder 4.5 Plug-in Utility.exe" (or similar if on Mac). Double-click that file and it will launch an installer. Simply select the folder where your Eclipse installation resides and you should be good to go.

There are two versions of the Flash Builder installer. Make sure that you downloaded the Plugin version; and not the stand alone version. The plugin version will ask you where you eclipse directory is located.
You can download from the Adobe web site.
You should not have to move any directories manually.

Problems creating a project with CodenameOne in Netbeans

Install Netbeans 12.6 on a Windows 10 machine. I was able to install the CodenameOne plugin with no problem. When creating a project I get the following error message:
Cannot invoke "org.openide.filesystems.FileObject.getFileObject(String)" because "folder" is null
I've been surfing the internet and can't find a way to fix it.
Thank you for your support.
This approach is no longer supported. The plugin is only used for legacy applications and no longer works in newer IDEs due to breaking changes in almost all IDEs.
Starting with Codename One 7.x we moved to maven projects which don't require the plugin and can be created in https://start.codenameone.com/
I have followed the instructions in the manual and it mentions as important:
"Before opening the project in NetBeans, you need to copy the contents of the tools/netbeans directory into the root project directory. These files are required by NetBeans to build, run, and debug the project correctly. "
But I can't find this folder in netbeans version 12.6.

Eclipse Neon 2 & 3 keeps Resetting the Workspace and Plugins

Have installed Eclipse Neon 3 x86_64 bit on macOS Sierra...
Proceeded by picking a workspace folder and installed the following plugins:
Subclipse 1.10.13 (by dragging the icon on to the workspace from https://marketplace.eclipse.org/content/subclipse)
Installed the following plugins (by going to Help -> Install New Software -> All Available Sites and expanded Web, XML, Java EE and OSGI Enterprise Development):
Eclipse Java EE Developer Tools 3.8.0.v201701262139
Eclipse Java Web Developer Tools 3.8.0.v201702270442
Eclipse Web Developer Tools 3.8.2.v201702270442
JST Server Adapters 3.2.400.v201606081655
JST Server Adapters Extensions 3.3.501.v201609071751
JST Server UI 3.4.300.v201606081655
Everything works (plugin functionality) but everytime I close Eclipse, it brings up the default dialog asking for a workspace and is completely fresh (no plugins and preferences...). I have to manually install these plugins every single time I restart Eclipse!
I've deleted the following directories and files:
~/.eclipse (folder);
~/Library/Saved Application/org.eclipse.eclipse.savedState;
~/Library/Preferences/org.eclipse.platform.ide.plist;
~/Library/Caches/org.eclipse.platform.ide;
And, also unzipped Eclipse into a different folder and specified a new workspace and after installing the plugins and restarting Eclipse, its completely fresh again!
This is very annoying and also disappointing...
I even tried to put -clean as the first line of the eclipse.ini file but it didn't help any...
What's weird is that this is happening on my company issued MacBook Pro but not my personal MacBook Pro (which is the exact same model and year as the company issue one)...
Any suggestions would be most appreciated!
Have you checked Eclipse Bugzilla for a similar issue?
It looks like you are running into this:
Bug 507328 - Eclipse forgets about global settings and installed features
It's a feature of macOS introduced with Sierra called "App Translocation" or "Gatekeeper Path Randomization". Try unzipping Eclipse and moving it (drag and drop) with Finder to a different location. This should set a flag which disables Gatekeeper Path Randomization. However, it's important this this is done from within Finder.
The Eclipse Oxygen packages will ship as DMG which will motivate users to drag and drop the Eclipse.app bundle into the Applications folder using Finder. There is an Apple bug here where Apple explicitly states that Finder may be able to opt an app out of Gatekeeper Path Randomization.
To check whether Gatekeeper Path Randomization is happing in Eclipse perform the following:
Open Eclipse > About Eclipse
Click Installation Details
Navigate to tab Configuration
Check the value of osgi.install.area property
If it points to some random looking path with /var/private that path randomization is in effect.
The situation may become more complicated in future macOS versions, though.

Installing Flash Builder 4.7 Plugin on Eclipse failing

I am trying to install Flash Builder 4.7 Plugin into Eclipse. I have downloaded Flash Builder Premium via Adobe's Creative Cloud. I have also installed Eclipse Indigo (recommended via Adobe). I am running this all on Mac OSX.
According to a tutorial I found I needed to go into the Utilities folder found in the Flash Builder install and run the Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 Plug-in Utility. It seemed to run fine. Afterwards you should be able to see "Flash Builder" in the help menu of Eclipse. However it is not there. You should also be able to set Flash Builder preferences under Window --> Preferences. Flash Builder is also not visible there.
I looked into the installation log and there was only one concerning message.
Move File: Destination: /Applications/eclipse/dropins/fb-4_7-plugin-encoded.link
Status: WARNING
Additional Notes: WARNING - There was a problem moving /Applications/eclipse/dropins/fb-4_7-plugin-encoded.link
I am unsure what this means and Adobe documentation is pretty sparse. However, it seems to be the only problem in the entire installation process. Any ideas or suggestions on what could be causing this error would be great.
EDIT: According the the tutorial there should also be this file "fb-4_7-plugin-encoded.link" created in the "dropins" folder of Eclipse. This file is created. However it is blank.
Here are notes I made trying the plug-in with Eclipse, both Indigo and Juno.
Flash Builder 4.7 works Eclipse Indigo or Juno, either 32-bit or 64-bit. You must use the correct source Flash Builder 4.7 when installing the plug-in – the 32-bit plug-in does not work with 64-bit Eclipse and vice-versa.
One major difference between Flash Builder 4.6 and 4.7 is the removal of Design mode for Flex .mxml files.
To install the plug-in, go to the Flash Builder 4.7 installation directory (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 for the 32-bit version or C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 for the 64-bit version). Run the Plug-in Utility in the utilities directory. The installer will prompt for an Eclipse installation directory.
Alternately, create the file dropins/fb-4_7-plugin-encoded.link with the following contents:
path=C:/Program Files (x86)/Adobe/Adobe Flash Builder 4.7
or
path=C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 (64 bit)
Adjust the path to the Flash Builder install directory.
Running the Plug-In Utility also creates an uninstall program to remove the plug-in from Eclipse. This is not created when using the link file to install the plug-in.
I have installed Eclipse 4.2.2 (Juno) 64-bit version running on Windows 8 Pro and successfully added ColdFusion Builder 3 (64-bit) to Eclipse (since adding ColdFusion Builder to Flash Builder Standalone no longer works). The Flash Builder plug-in Utility installs correctly and even provides the link file in drop-ins directory of Eclipse correctly. Yet, if it doesn't show any of the Flash Builder content in Eclipse, you will need to uninstall Flash Builder entirely from your computer and then reinstall. Then run the plug-in utility from the utilities directory and it should work.
So the steps would be:
Make sure any version of Flash Builder is completely uninstalled from the computer first!
Install Eclipse and make sure it is the same bit version as the Flash Builder and/or Coldfusion Builder (either 32-bit or 64-bit)
Install ColdFusion Builder and select as plug-in to existing Eclipse
Install Flash Builder
Run Plug-in Utility from Adobe Flash Builder install directory
Open Eclipse and set workspace. You can then add both ColdFusion and Flash perspectives

JCDE plugins in Eclipse doesn`t work ,java card

I copy the eclipse-jcde-0.2 into eclipse'plugin folder ,but the plugins in eclipse doesn't work, Do I still lack of something necessary such as FEATURES folder and how can I get the features ?
OS:windows
Eclipse version :3.2.
It is working fine for me.
I have followed exact instructions from the link eclipse-jcde
Only changes I have did is I have used Eclipse 3.5 instead of eclipse 3.2
For Installation in Eclipse 3.5 follow the below steps.
After downloading Eclipse 3.5, inside eclipse folder create plugins folder (if already not present.)
Paste all the jar files from the downloaded zip file (eclipse-jcde-0.2.zip\plugins folder) to plugins folder (there are 8 jars)
Start the eclipse in -clean mode.
To Start eclipse in clean mode : On the eclipse folder right click and open command prompt, then issue the command eclipse -clean.
Now follow the instruction to set the path for java-card-dev-kit-home as mentioned in the above link.
I am able to create java card project and applet and even start the JCWDE simulator as well.

I cannot install eclipse jaxb builder plugin

I am currently working with a product that is built onto Eclipse version 3.4.2.
I am trying to install the jaxb builder plugin, but it is not working.
So far I have tried:
Unzipping the folder into the Eclipse plugins folder and then restarting Eclipse
The restarting Eclipse using the -clean flag
Unzipping the folder into the product's (built onto Eclipse) plugin folder and then restarting with and without -clean
Unzipping the folder into the dropins folder and then restarting Eclipse
I think that it may be possible that this version of jaxb builder doesn't support my version of Eclipse, but I can't figure out how to find that information. I tried emailing the address on the "Contact Us" page, but it came right back to me.
Is it possible that the product has been discontinued? How can I find out?
Discontinued? I don't know but the last build is from 2011-05. It's built against Eclipse 3.4 (see plugin.xml). What do you mean be "not working"? Exceptions? Entries in Eclipse error log/view?
Turns out it was the application's fault. I'm not exactly sure what the problem was, but when I did the exact same thing in a regular Eclipse environment, it came up with no issues.
I will edit if I get more information.
