Connect to Facebook using Facebook app on iPhone - iphone

How to connect to Facebook using the downloaded Facebook app, and not the embeeded Facebook connect. This is done for example with Rockmelt app.
What seems to be done, is to launche a third party app using the url like (fb:some paramaeters) and having a callback url with your app (myapp://authentification parameter ).
The interest of this is that if you are already logged on facebook, you just need to approve or not your app.
What is missing, is what are the parameters to acheive this with the downloaded facebook app.

Just use the supplied Facebook Connect library as it handles all this for you. FBConnect by default will use single sign on either via the browser or the facebook app if already installed.
You can examine the source code of the FBConnect library to see how this is done if you wish, but I'd suggest that re-inventing the wheel is perhaps not the best way to go.

How to launch FB app from URL (specifically the share function)

I'm looking for a way to replicate this:
https://www.facebook.com/sharer/sharer.php?u=http://www.buildfire.com
But I want to force it to use the Facebook App - I know that you can launch the FB app using this command
fb://
but have not been able to recreate the sharer function.
Any ideas? I can share in WhatsApp using
whatsapp://send?text=Check%20out%20this%20site%20http://buildfire.com/
Note: This is for mobile devices only that is why I want to force it to use the FB app
Direct deep-linking into the Facebook App, or better, into a specific section of the app (Share Dialog, User Profile etc.) using the Custom URL Scheme of the Facebook iOS app is not officially supported.
You can however add the FBSDKShareKit framework to your app and open a Share Dialog that way, see https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/ios#share_dialog

Should Facebook canvas apps behave same if opened from original non-canvas site url?

This is a first time I am trying to make a facebook application/game, and I have couple of questions.
Let's say canvas url is http://mysite/first_app/ and facebook app url is https://apps.facebook.com/first_app
I wonder if visited both url-s should a functionality be the same? I mean does facebook give you more tools and freedom if navigated from https://apps.facebook.com/first_app? Or should both url-s look and do the same thing? Is it possible?
I wonder if visited both urls should a functionality be the same
Of course yes. The difference is just that one is deployed at the facebook's app center and the other at your domain.
Yes, you have more tools available in the canvas ("apps.facebook.com.."), as it will send you the user-id without any user consent. Has the user previously used your app, you will also be able to get their accesstoken and fetch more info about them.
It requires some backend code to decode the signed request parameter, which provides you this stuff.
This example is how php handles signed request:
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/facebook-login/using-login-with-games/
If you're using C#, download the Facebook C# (available through NuGet, the package from Outercurve Foundation) and use this example:
How do I parse a signed request in Facebook C# SDK?
I try to handle the user in Facebook context whenever possible. It adds trust and more tools. Although since the Facebook phone/tablet app (App Store/Google Play) doesn't support Facebook apps at all, I often optimize the app for mobile web use also. I read somewhere that over 50% of daily Facebook visists are done using the phone app, so it might be something to think into your app while developing.
UPDATE:
I can see I have misunderstood part of signed request, as commented by Shadowfax and CBroe. In my app, I use the user id from signed request but of course only when the user has already logged on to the app beforehand. My apologies.

Open IOS Application which uses sharekit via fbconnect and/or sharekit from facebook app or facebook website

Does anyone of you know if it is possible to open a App which uses sharekit from a Facebook request by clicking on the request either in the facebook app, or in the browser?
I could not find anything about this in the web.
To be more precise i want my app which uses sharekit to send a request to a facebook-friend. This facebook friend should then be able to open the same app by clicking on the request either in the facebook app on his mobile device or by clicking on the request on the facebook browser page which is opened on his mobile device.
I already know how to share things in facebook via sharekit, but to get it "the other way round" seems to be difficult. I could not find anything helpful in the web so far.
Greets and many thanks in advance,

Yes. Your will will need to register itself as a protocol handler, and the link clicked on from Facebook app would need to use the url scheme you define.
Example:
my-social-app://invite/1234
Keep in mind if the recipient does not have the app installed, or they do this on their desktop machine, they will get a message that the phone is unable to open that URL.

Facebook applications and WP7

I need to perform facebook post into the user wall from wp7 (but without using the nice built-in ShareLinkTask of mango, please don't ask me why, its a requirement).
So, lets say I must do it as I was in Wp7 before mango, the only way available I found, is based on building a facebook application and using that applicationId with the facebook sdk.
It works but I need to use an ad-hoc or a company account to create the app, I was not able to do both, it seems that comapny account cannot create apps, ad-hoc account are prohibited.
Is there a way to create a facebook app withouth using a personal account ?
Is it really necessary to create a facebook app to make a wp7 app post to facebook (without using the ShareLinkTask of mango).
thanks to all
There is no other way to post on somebody's wall. You have to use the SDK and to register your app on Facebook because the user has to explicitly authorize your applications to post on his wall.
Even if you post a message from the built-in Windows Phone features, you'll see on Facebook that the message has been posted with the application Windows Phone. And you can retrieve the settings of that application in your facebook account settings:

Facebook Connect Replaced?

I would like to develop an IOs app with facebook integrated.
However, after some research I found out that facebook connect seem to be outdated?
Even the facebook official page only talk about Single Sign On where user will be redirect away the app to login.
So my question is, do you think it's still safe to use Facebook Connect?
Since i still see a lot app using it.
Yes Facebook connect for iOS has been replaced with Facebook SDK for iOS and it is an open source library on Github that users their Graph API. I would not start a new project with the deprecated Facebook connect library because it will eventually be killed and they won't give you a lot of notice since the replacement has already been out for over a year.
