IndexTank: why does InstantSearch ask me for a username and password? - indextank

I downloaded the tarball from the IndexTank JQuery Github page and extracted the archive as the instructions told me to.
I edited the test.html file and added my IndexTank public API URL and also my index name as per the instructions.
Then I opened the test.html file in Chrome and tried to use the search field.
So, my question is this:
Why, everytime I search for something, am I prompted with a browser popup asking me to enter in my username and password?

You need to go to your dashboard, click on Manage for your index and enable Public Search API. The option is right below the scoring functions.

Cannot download google credentials json file

At this website
https://cloud.google.com/life-sciences/docs/how-tos/getting-started#download_credentials_for_api_access
it says:
After creating your credentials, download the client_secret.json file by going to the Credentials page in the Cloud Console and clicking Download JSON file_download.
The credentials page is hyperlinked. But when you go to that page there is no such button named download json file. Here is a screenshot of the page:
I really wish Google would learn to write clear documentation.
I should also add that the website has the following cryptic instructions:
Use this key in your application by passing it with key=API_KEY parameter.
I don't know what it means to pass a key. If the writers would have provided an example that would certainly have helped. I have the key and that might solve my problem, I just don't know what to do with it.
This may be late, but this may help if anyone is still having this issue
After creating the service account
Select/click the from the account listing
Goto the keys tab
Click Add Key and select create key
Then select JSON and the file will be downloaded
refer here https://cloud.google.com/docs/authentication/getting-started?authuser=1#creating_a_service_account
You haven't made a OAuth credential.
Click Create credentials > Oauth Client ID.
Set the application type to Other and complete the form.
After creating your credentials, download the client_secret.json file by going to the Credentials page in the Cloud Console and clicking Download JSON file_download. Securely store the file in a location that only your application can access.
The write of the documentation linked to the wrong page. He should have linked to
https://console.cloud.google.com/apis/credentials/
But instead linked to
https://console.developers.google.com/apis/credentials
If you can download the json file with the first link then more instructions will be needed. The second link though allows you to download the json file.
After creating the keys and service account, you can download the Json file on the end right side of OAuth key IDs. Check the picture below for the location of the button.

Site results redirect to Google

A site I'm working on has been hacked. The CMS (which I didn't build) was accessed and some files (e.g. "km2jk4.php.jpg") were uploaded in image fields. I have since deleted them (a week ago). Now, when I search for the site on Google, then click the result, it either:
a) simply redirects me to the Google search page
OR
b) a download dialogue appears asking me to download a zip file, with the source domain something like gb.celebritytravelnetwork.com
Clearly the site's been compromised. But if I simply type the URL in the address bar, the site loads fine. This only happens when I click through Google results.
There is no .htaccess file on the server, and this is not a virus on my computer, since many other people have reported the same thing happening, so this question is not relevant.
Any ideas please?
Thanks.
Your Source files have been changed.
Check all the files included in the index page. They might be header , footer pages.
And try using : fetch as google bot.

Editing Files in My account Magento CE

Hello I am using Magento CE 1.7.2 I am trying to edit the customers "My Account" Pages
I cannot find what file to edit to change the layout and design of the following:
My account:
Account Dash Board (got this to work editing customer/account/dashboard.phtml)
Account Information (Tried customer/account/dashboard/info.phtml Didn't work)
Address Book (Tried customer/account/dashboard/address.phtml Didn't Work)
My Orders (No idea)
Newsletter Subscriptions (Tried customer/account/dashboard/newsletter.phtml Didn't Work)
What files do I edit? Please show the directory.... Thanks!
Telling you the exact path would be like "giving you a fish".
Instead, I will "teach you how to fish".
Login to your admin panel in Magento.
Head to System > Configuration. At the bottom of your left menu you will find a Developper link.
Head to this link, then in the upper left of the given page, select a webiste in the dropbox under Current Configuration Scope.
Open the Debug section and set Template Path Hints to Yes.
Reload your customer page in frontend. Tada! You can now see where is every single files you have to edit to change anything in your Magento.

Where are subdomains ("shortcuts") defined in TYPO3?

On a corporate website managed with TYPO3 there are shortcuts defined which lead to a page on the site.
Example:
Corporate website is www.acompany.com
Then there is a site www.acompany.com/coolproduct which is redirecting the user to www.acompany.com/products/productgroup3/product25.htm for example.
Where in TYPO3 can such "shortcut" links be defined?
Most probably some page in the page tree has set type to: Shortcut which causes that it points some other page or resource, it's also possible that is set as Link to External URL and there is full URL given.
Check the page tree in the backend and find your coolproduct page in it. Then check the site's properties and change if required to other value/type.
It's also possible that this URL is generated by some plugin or TypoScript, but in this case you'll need to investigate it yourself.
Simplest way to find these kinds of things is actually using the search engine in the TYPO3 backend. You will find it in the upper right corner.
If this fails, what I do is install PhpMyAdmin from the extension repository. Once you have PhpMyAdmin you can use it's search functionality to find anything in the database using a search query of: '%coolproduct%' and selecting all tables. In the results look for the 'pid' field. It tells you on which page in TYPO3 the found item is located.
Does the page use the extension realURL? If so, there might be realURL redirects defined.
Have a look at page -> info -> RealUrl -> Redirects
Maybe you the user has defined this link redirection in many pages, you can search for it in the database exactly in the tt_content table.
You can set shortcut for your domain to any page of your site, so when user enter only your domain name in url then it redirects to page which you set in shortcut.
For that edit your domain and set shortcut to any page of your page tree.

Facebook Tab on pages

Whats the best way to develop a tab on facebook in a facebook page with content inside it? Would it just be html within that tab?
Easiest way is to install a 3rd party iframe App on your Facebook Page. You can find these Apps by searching for "iframe" in Facebook's search. Once you have one of these Apps installed, you can customize the HTML/CSS/JS of the iframe, which will then be reflected on you Page Tab. Alternatively, you could create your own Facebook App and install it as an iframe in your Facebook Page. This will achieve the same thing, and may give you more control, but you will have to host the html/css/js files yourself and it will be more work.
I recently have the same need.
To just place a facebook tab containing just a static html with text and image.
Here are the steps. It can be quite a nightmare to review the documentation of Facebook since it is always in change.
In the home page, click in the settings button. There is a link "Create application". You have to be sure to be in the Facebook development section
In the Create Application home page. In the upper menu there is the button "Applications". Here will be listed all your applications. If this is the first time, again the button "Create a new app"
3.Enter the information requested. Name of the application, an identifier (I prefer the same display name without spaces) and choose a category.
As a security step, a captcha is shown. Just fill with the characters in the screen.
Since your tab is an html. You have to host this file in your own server in order to have a path. The first tricky thing here is to convert this file into a php, asp, or similar extension. since Facebook uses GET or POST protocol to send information. You have to ensure that your file understands this requests. So, your server must accept the corresponding programming language. Even if your tab doesn't have any real code.
The configuration of your app is shown in screen. In the left menu, the option "configuration" displays the options to activate your tab.
click "Add plattform" button and select Facebook tab
fill the information required with the corresponding URLs. Note: Facebook always requires secured URLs so make sure that your server or hosting service has the SSL certificate validated.
Upload the image of your tab to be shown in the home of your profile in your tab section.
ok, so far we are good. Now. This was a long search. There is no longer the "Add to my webpage" link anywhere. So use this link to access to that hidden link. here Basically you enter the facebook app id and the URL of the hosted file.
Then you select the facebook page where you want to link this tab. And that's it!
note: the alternative to the link is this: (https://www.facebook.com/dialog/pagetab?app_id=YOUR_APP_ID&next=YOUR_URL )
Hope this helps. It was a waste of time when I have to search for the details so I want to share this.
