I installed Microsoft LogParser v2.2, it's on my machine, but this is what i'm getting when i run it:

Could not find stored procedure 'LOGPARSER'.
What am i doing wrong?
LogParser does not run in SQL Server. It is a separate program. You run it from the command line. Here are some usage examples from Microsoft.
It does use a SQL syntax, but it has nothing to do with SQL Server.
You say you installed it, Is this a software that installs a database or did you just added it to your Database?
Is your connection string pointing to that server?

I am using sqldeveloper to query database and export results to csv file. I need this file on daily basis so thought of creating bat file which can be scheduled on windows task scheduler. I was researching it and found I can use SQLcl to run my script to export the query data. But somehow I can't connect it and it gives me and error 'ORA-01017: invalid username/password;logon denied. Found the problem, my userid is in double quotes so I have to use escape sequence **\**, its working like a charm.

I am using this statement to export a couple of rows. for privacy purposes DATA has been inserted where necessary. however the following error is produced. I have followed IBM's guide on export and feel like this should be correct but unsure exactly as to what is wrong. the error log is as follows

As already remarked, you cannot directly run Db2-commands (such as import, export, load ... etc.) from plain SQL , as you are trying to do via JDBC.
Instead, if your Db2-server runs on Linux/Unix/Windows, you can either use a stored procedure, or (for any Db2-server operating system) you can use the command-line.
However, when you use stored-procedure SYSPROC.ADMIN_CMD for Db2-LUW, all file-names in stored-procedure parameters are relative to the Db2-server (and not your remote jdbc-client, if you are running remotely).
That means after a successful export via stored-procedure, if you really need the exported IXF file to be on your workstation then you must do file-transfer to your workstation using whatever tools you have for that purpose.
For example, this shows an export on Unix to an IXF file in /tmp on the Db2-server:
call sysproc.admin_cmd('EXPORT TO /tmp/myFile.ixf OF ixf SELECT * FROM user1.stk1 with ur') ;
If you don't want to use a stored procedure, you must use the command-line shell (for example on Windows, use db2ntcmd.bat , or on Unix use bash or ksh) and connect to the database in the shell and perform the export. This requires the workstation to have a Db2-client and also that the relevant database and node be first catalogued.
If you specify your Db2-version and the operating-system on which your Db2-server runs, then you will get more details.
I know the basic syntax of queries but otherwise I'm a beginner with SQL.
I have an SQL file (.sql) and I downloaded a couple programs (pgadmin and sql workbench).
I have no idea how to get from where I am now to actually writing queries and finding information. How do I set up so I can actually import my SQL file and start writing queries?
pgAdmin is the default GUI for PostgreSQL.
SQL Workbench is a free, DBMS-independent, cross-platform SQL query tool.
Either way, you need to connect to a database to actually run queries. The DBMS can either run on your local machine or you can connect to a remote server - where you need access privileges of course.
I have this SQL script that I need to run. It creates an aggregate that I need.

When I run it on my computer locally it runs fine.
However I need to connect remotely to a server and run it on the sql server installed on it.
I copy past the script and try to execute it I get this syntax error
Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Line 3
Incorrect syntax near ','.
Both my pc and the server have SQL Server 2008 R2
Anyone has an idea of the problem? Why is it working locally and not on the server?

I have a database file (*.db) that need to be recovered.
The bad is, the end-user have null idea of the version of the database. Not know the password. The original developer is lost. The computer where was installed was formatted. We have not experience in this database software. Yeah, nightmare.
My guess is a old database. I'm trying to open it in Sybase 11, dev edition.

Exist a way to know the version of the database server used to create this? Is possible to recover this file?
I don't know how to get the version out of the Database File if you are not able to start it.
You could get a hint from the hopefully existing Client PC's. Check the ODBC Driver Version they have installed.
I had good success with the support of Sybase. If you or your client has a support contract you can get them involved.

Try to simply start a server with that database and capture the output with -z -o server.out. The server.out file should contain a more specific error telling you why it can't start the database. This error can occur if you are trying to start something that is not a SQL Anywhere database.
