I have an AIR app that I am wanting to convert to a IOS APP (using flash as3)
I have used the facebook for flash api in the past, but what theat usually entails is the app opening a new browser window to log in to facebook and authorise the app.
How can I do this using to build the app as a mobile app?
There are updated versions of the same API specialized for mobile. Which will, Instead of a new window, will open the login page in a StageWebView that spans across the screen. You can find the API at http://code.google.com/p/facebook-actionscript-api/
If you want to use the same API with the new single-Sign-On method you can read my post at http://saumitrabhave.blogspot.in/2011/10/facebook-single-sign-on-for-air-ios.html
facebook-actionscript-api in googlecode is too old. I'm try it in my project, but it failed.
Now, I use ANE-Facebook. It is working fine in my iOS and Android device.
There is a sample.

I need to add the tracking of installs for my Hybrid Mobile app but the code provided to me is only native for iOS and Android thus I cannot apply this to my project..
Is there a method I need to invoke from the Facebook SDK? I have integrated it already with my application as I utilize the Facebook Login. According to the guide: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/app-ads/sdk because it is a hybrid app it should automatically be tracked but this is not the case.
Any suggestions?
I am creating an app on iOS and i came across a scenario if a person does not have the facebook app installed but has Facebook. how does the game app handle that. you can only play the game if and only if you have facebook account?
You can use Single Sign On in Facebook.
So that the facebook will authenticate its user through facebook app if its installed otherwise through the safari.
Here is the Link also here.
Happy coding :)
If you targeted the older versions (below ios6) use Graph API.
If you targeted for newer version (ios 6 and above) use the native method
I would like to integrate Facebook into an iOS application I am building, however it seems there is no way to set up a Facebook 'Native iOS Application' with an iOS application that is not already published and available in the App Store.
When I Set up a Native iOS Application for my Facebook App from my Facebook developer's account it requires that I fill in my App Store ID. However when I submit I get the following error message:
Your iPhone App Store ID is invalid because the iTunes App Store
reports your app as being unavailable for iPhone and iPod touch.
I have set up my application on iTunes Connect, but I have not submitted my binary yet as I am in the process of building it, so I assume that this message is due to it being unavailable on the App Store.
This seems like a catch 22 situation. I can't test my app until its in the App Store but I can't get my app in the AppStore until I have tested (and built) it. How can I test my iOS application with Facebook before release?
I've been there, but the solutions is simple.
Don't fill out the Facebook 'Native iOS Application'!
For testing all you needed is the Facebook appid.
Later on in the Deep Linking portion of the iOS Facebook Tutorial, it also mentions the AppStore ID and that you can use somebody else's ID temporarily to get all the data to save. They just say to make sure you use your own id when you finally do publish the app.
I dont think facebook Native iOS App settings are necessary. I have done facebook login with it in two of my apps and without it in one of my app and all are running well. Here are workaround by me:
Native iOS Facebook SSO won't return to app
Im wondering if its possible to link my app with the native facebook iphone-app without using iOS at all.
It was pretty easy to create a mobile version and connect it with the m.facebook.com (so it appears in the broswer) through the Developer > Mobile Web URL but it doesnt work/recognize with the native app of facebook.
Is there a way to connect the native iOS FB to my app without creating an app? So it redirects automatically to the browser?
Im trying to avoid to create an iOS app.
Thanks a lot!
If the Application is linked to in news story or post then the App will open in in a browser.
For full integration you'll need a App.
(I don't have a iOS app to test, only pure web app and after posting the apps.facebook.com link to a wall, that link in App opened in the in built web browser).
I have used Facebook API to make posts to my wall on Facebook with my Android app. To do this I made an app on the Facebook developer site. I used the key hash from the Android application and the APP_ID from the facebook app to cross match them.
Now I want to connect my Android app to a facebook app which already is connected to an Iphone application. This app has my key hash added, and I tried using its APP_ID instead of my own but it doesn't work.
I am thinking it might be because I'm not using the application secret in my Android app, but it is used in the Iphone app. If this could be the problem, where do I add this application secret? Xcode has such an easy system for adding parameters like this one, but I don't know what the equivalent in Android is.
Thanks!
Per the Facebook Android SDK instructions "make sure that your application has been signed with the same key you registered with Facebook" it sounds like you have a key mismatch issue; the instructions on their site should help find some common problems. Also update your local code to use the latest SDK as Facebook is notorious for breaking older implementations.
The current Facebook iOS SDK only uses the application ID and Android is no different.
