I'm looking for analytics tool for a Facebook application. I need to do a brief about free available tools.
Currently I'm only familiar with Kontagent web service (Its not free).
It works like this:
When a user performs an action that creates an important event, our application sends a log message to kontagent web service telling that an important event has taken place. Kontagent will then process and log this data, to returns reports, graphs, and metrics.
I've made some searching about it and found only payed tools (RavenTools, Rankur, Radian 6)
Do you know of any free tools that provide analytics capabilities for Facebook Events?

I'm sure your brief is already done, but for anyone else looking at this, if you have a Facebook page (such as a fan page or a business page) FB has "insights" which tell you "like" growth (decline) rate, click rate, view rate, repost rate, etc...you can download this all for free and create awesome crosstabs (if you know how to use Excel) with all sorts of data.
Additionally, HootSuite has SOME tools for free (such as click rate) and a sliding scale for other analytics.

I hope you can help me with a problem:
I want to create a web application that requests user data from a Google Home device. I then want to create an interface that summarizes all this data and shows convenient data analytics to the user. For example: How many times I switched a light on during a week, or what music I'm listening to, or which light are on or off at a certain moment.
The problem is that I have no idea where to begin, I've been searching through Google and stackoverflow without avail. I came across a site called home-assistant.io, but that seems to be a program that consists of different modules and has the Google assistant "on the side" instead of using the Google assistant to gather the data.
So I guess it boils down to is it possible to use the Google Home to gather usage statistics, or isn't that possible (yet)?
In short - it isn't.
Users can see what they've done using their Google account, including through the Assistant, using https://myactivity.google.com.
However, third-party developers have no access to on-device activity, no access to the content at myactivity.google.com, and no way to intercept or view what a user is doing using the Assistant. In short - no way to gather statistics outside of their own, specific, Action.
There are lots of reasons this isn't allowed, but probably the biggest is security and privacy. Google gets a lot of criticism for collecting this information, and would probably get even more if it was possible for those outside Google to get it as well. (Google also has a business reason for limiting outside access to this information, admittedly.)
I need to do SEO and need to show improvements and a summery of new trends for a site.It is a replacement for an old site. How i can prove that i have done a good job on SEO,using google analytic and Facebook Conversion Tracking.Is there a way to get current site statistics? Then i can show, i have brought him more viewers to his new site.
If the previous site doesn't already include google analytics tracking codes then no, it doesn't keep track of any statistics. You can implement them though to the old website keep it up for a month or so, gather the data required and when you launch the new one, then compare them.

I want to build simple web based app, where users, for example, could push the spacebar button, and then do something further, like answer a question, and while other users at the same time only sees that this question is not available any more for answer. When user submits answer, everyone see it.
All right, here is an example. I have seen TV shows, where four players have one button, if one or two of them know answer, they hit a button, and one lamp turns on and the first is allowed to answer, while other keeps their mouths shut. I want to build the same idea, but in the web.
But problem is that, I don't know where to start, what keywords I should search for help on google and so on. I see, that it might work on HTML5, maybe JavaScript and so on.
I have idea using Ajax, but request it every second to get latest actions made seems rubbish. Also I found one service called Pusher, but it has limited users in one time, which doesn't fit my needs.
I need just ideas. Thanks.
Before you read the rest, a disclaimer: I work for Realtime.co but I do believe I can help here so I'm not trying to "pitch a sale".
You can check out Realtime (www.realtime.co). It's basically a set of tools for developers to use real time technologies on their projects. It uses websockets but does fallback to whatever the user's browser supports (such as long polling, for example).
Behind Realtime you have a one-to-one/one-to-many/many-to-many messaging system that will transport your messages to and from your users.
There's also a plus which is the fact that the Realtime framework is actually cross-platform. This means that you can even have your web users communicate with iPhone users, Android, users, Windows Phone, desktop applications, server applications, etc..

Writing all this previous post, made me think in right way :)
I understand that apple no longer allows me to send "device data" to third-party services. As a result of this, Flurry and presumably every other analytics company no longer collects OS/hardware version data. However, this data is very valuable to anyone trying to target development toward the people who are actually using the apps.
I can imagine a few different ways to collect this data.
1) Send a custom event indicating the hardware/os version to Flurry. This, of course, is in direct violation of the agreement with Apple. However, I suspect plenty of people are doing this, and just not getting busted. Still, not an ideal solution. Even if Apple didn't notice that we were sending this data, I'd rather not have the possibility of the app getting pulled hanging over my head.
2) Use an analytics package which allows me to collect data on my own server. Localytics is one company which seems to offer this. However, I don't think they offer this with their free plan. Is anyone aware of any free (or cheap) analytics tools which will allow me to send data to my own server?
3) Roll my own solution. This could either be an entire replacement for Flurry, or I could continue to use flurry, but send only the device data to my own server. This is a little clunky. I'd much rather have all my analytics data in one place. And would much rather not have to deal with building my own tool if I don't have to
So, is anyone else collecting device data? Are you using one of the above techniques? Or maybe something different I hadn't thought of?

I've heard of people using UIWebViews to connect to a webpage with a counter. The counter is incremented each time a page is accessed, and the pages are separated by feature/UIView. This way the developer can tell which features get the most usage.
As far as device data, you most likely are looking at rolling your own tracking mechanism, probably going through a server like Google App Engine that's set up to receive your data.

I help out at a local soup kitchen, and they are wanting to create a website. Most of their criteria are pretty simple, they want to be able to have a calendar, post pictures, and have a blog. However they also want to be able to manage volunteer's. They want to be able to post a event, have a list of jobs that they need volunteer's for that event, and allow people to sign up for the jobs. I would like to base this website on a well known platform like DotNetNuke, WordPress, or Drupal. Before I go and code my own plugin for managing volunteers I decided to see if I could find a platform that already has a module available. So far I have not been able to find anything. Has anybody heard of one or used one in the past? I would appreciate any suggestions.
There's a whole range of ways to do this, but I haven't ever seen a dedicated solution (plugin or otherwise).
On the one hand, a blog could do all that you're asking. Posting pictures and blog entries? That's wordpress all over. Want a calendar? We have a plugin for that. Want to let volunteers sign up for stuff? Let them post comments.
On the other hand, the problem you're describing isn't unique: In my own experience I've wanted the software you describe. May I suggest that, if you have the time, you make something totally awesome for the volunteer community?
