custom tableview with only image - iphone

I have a default tableview style with 4 entries and would like to customize it show only 4 large image.
Is possible custom table view or i must use another method?

When you have such a display (a menu like, not a table like) I use simple buttons with the following properties:
Type: Custom
Background: an image in .PNG format since it supports transparency and I can do a nice layout with it.
I either set the Title of the button if it doesn't ruin the design, or I add labels under the buttons to explain what they do. In the TouchUpInside event of the buttons I push the view that I want using a navigation controller.

If you're ONLY using four images, consider using a typical UIViewController and laying out the objects in the nib file.

iOS Making a custom table view with spaced out and custom cells

I am attempting to make a custom view that looks like the attached picture. The top two cell would be static while the bottom three would scroll if there are more than the screen can fit, and only scroll within that given area. I am wondering what the best approach is to making these types of custom views. I know how to make custom UItableviewcells and have custom content in them, but I am struggling with an overall strategy to make a custom UITableview that has certain cells be static and others scroll. Should I just implement a table view to be part of the screen in storyboards? Or are there better ways to do so?
I would do this by making the top two "cells" just be UILabels, and the bottom a table view where both the cells and the table view would have a clear background. The table view should be set to have no separators between the cells, and the cells should have a UILabel with a background cooler the same as the top UILabels.
This was the result:
I normally do not like to use story board much. And prefer SubClassing UIView. It might take more time to code at first but in a long run it is easier and very dynamic to control the UI programmatically.
In your problem I would make two static UIView(s). If the two view are similar the advantage of using UIView class is that you can use same class with different data model to generate multiple views. But if you use story board you need to copy past multiple times. Hence try to create UIViews class objects as much as possible.
And then the bottom one will be a simple table view. Do not think there is much you can do in this case. Do submit some codes you have done so that we can better refine it.

How could I create a custom tabbar similar to this

How could I create this custom tabbar and what does it consist of?
On cocoacontrols.com you can find several TabBar implementations similar to this.
iOS 5 now allows to change the background image of the tabbar but this kind of custom control is much more complex.
You would basically need to write your own view and controller that would change between views, move the arrow accordingly and activate/deactivate the buttons.
As of the elements it consists of, i would say
One background image used for every element
The different icons in normal and selected state
A UILabel for every element
The blue divider
The arrow, separate from the divider to simplify the animations...
To see how a tabbar with an indicator could be coded check out this project on GitHub for a Twitter-like tabbar.

iPhone UI controls

Which class is used to create the clickable sections(with > arrow) and the checkbox list on last shot?
alt text http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/documentation/uikit/reference/UINavigationController_Class/Art/navigation_interface.jpg
Have a look at the UINavigationController.
To create the list with arrows, use the UITableView and set the Accessory "Disclosure indicator" on the cell (in the Interface builder).
The screenshot is from the Settings application though. If you want to create subpanels for settings, you need to use a different approach (Here is one example)
UITableView (UITableViewController).
The checkmarks and arrows are added by changing the .accessoryType property of the cell. To make the table views clickable, implement the -tableView:didSelectRowAtIndexPath: method in the delegate.

iPhone - Custom Tab Icons, Remove Highlight

I am creating a custom tab bar for my iPhone app and I need to change the images. I have changed the actual tab bar background, but I need to know how to add custom images for the icons and their respective "selected" icons. I also need to remove the square highlight that is default. Pretty much, it just needs to be my icons. Also wondering if the images can be coloured or not. I've looked a lot of this, but no one seems to have the solution.
Someone please help.
hide the inbuilt tabBar view
create your own custom UIView (or UIScrollView in case if you need more number of tabs) with the frame of inbuilt tabBar view and fill up, especially with array of UIButtons & then add your custom view as a subview of the TabBarController.
Play with the UIButton's background image (which is your tab icon image) and its addTarget:action:forControlEvents: in order to set the appropriate selectedIndex value of the TabBarController, i.e. set the selectedIndex according to the button's position in the custom view.
This is how I've implemented :)
No. You cannot customise the tab bar icons in the UITabBar.
They are designed to be used with an alpha masked image.
Someone discovered a way to hack the colours though here: Custom colors in UITabBar

How to realize the same effect like iPhone's homescreen

I want to add some custom buttons and realize the same effect like the iPhone's home screen. What I can think of is to calculate the position of each button and add them to the view. Are there any other ways to do this? e.g. add buttons to the tableview
Check TTLauncherView from Three20,
I realized the same view of the thumbnails in the photo app (which in principle differs only because of the background color and the rounded effect of the buttons) using a custom cell (with 4 UIButtons inside) in a normal tableview.
In my case, this is because I need to scroll up and down, in your specific case there should be a way to "lock" the table from scrolling. By the way, for this reason, it could be simpler to design the custom view in the interface builder, it is very quick to design such a view, and then create a custom controller to provide simple methods to assign icons and actions to the UIButtons dynamically.
You could also look at the Three20 libraries as already suggested, it is already implemented, but you app will easily be rejected by Apple if you do so.
