M2e is not visible in Eclipse - eclipse

I'm trying to install m2e plugin to enable maven integration but it looks like plugin is not installed:
What I do:
Maven is already installed in the system and 'mvn --version' works
Help -> Install New Software -> Indigo->General Purpose Tools - m2e
Eclipse restart of course
There is no mention of Maven in eclipse. Not in Window->Preferences, not when creating new project. Nowhere.
Tried different plugin repositories, tried Eclipse Marketplace - nada.
When running Eclipse I get these errors:
org.eclipse.m2e.logback.configuration: SLF4J logger factory is not an instance of LoggerContext: org.slf4j.impl.SimpleLoggerFactory
2 [org.eclipse.jdt.internal.ui.text.JavaReconciler] INFO org.mortbay.log - Logging to org.slf4j.impl.SimpleLogger(org.mortbay.log) via org.mortbay.log.Slf4jLog
Not sure what to do at this point.
Would be grateful for any help!
Leonty

I don't recall what it is called in Indigo. I recently updated to Juno and imported my plugins with no issue. Below is a full list of plugins that I have installed. I'd recommend you uninstall what you have, then search for "Maven Integration". Install that and any other related plugins you will need (i.e. SCM clients).

It is builtin with Indingo, no !?
(Or maybe Indigo WTP)
I am quite sure because I had to re-install Indigo WTP several times

Maven found missing in Eclipse IDE (Mars) after installing m2e-egit

unable to create a maven project after installing the m2e-egit plugin; Obviously I don't see the maven option under Eclipse > Window > preferences
Tool used:
Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers.
Version: Mars Release (4.5.0)
Try this :
Firstly, for Maven:
Eclipse > Help > Install new software and add http://download.eclipse.org/technology/m2e/releases.
Secondly, for m2e-egit:
Eclipse > Help > Install new software and add
https://repository.takari.io/content/sites/m2e.extras/m2eclipse-egit/0.14.0/N/LATEST/.
Because the version of m2e-egit in the Marketplace is outdated
Now restart eclipse.
It perfectly worked for me (Mars Version).
I had this same issue with m2eclipse-scala. I tracked the issue down to what seems to be multiple installs of the m2e plugin, one explicit and one implicit. This plugin gets installed by m2eclipse-scala if it's not already there (perhaps similarly to how m2e-egit operates). The base version of Eclipse that I'm using does NOT show m2e installed under Window > Installation Details, but all of the Maven buttons and toolbars are already present, and explicitly installing m2e makes them disappear.

Getting Maven (M2e and m2e wtp) plugins for use in Eclipse Indigo 3.7.2

I just installed eclipse 3.7.2 and was trying to get Maven plugins for it.
I used Help->Install New Software and used this website to work with:
http://download.eclipse.org/m2e-wtp/releases/juno/
I waited for 4 items to show up including:
2) Maven Intgration for Eclipse
3) Maven Itegration for WTP
and clicked those 2 (middle items). To my chagrin, the result was this:
The operation cannot be completed. See the details.
Details:
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: m2e - slf4j over logback logging (Optional) 1.4.0.20130601-0317 (org.eclipse.m2e.logback.feature.feature.group 1.4.0.20130601-0317)
I saw that someone else saw this when they were on eclipse 3.6.2 and they no longer saw the error after upgrading to 3.7.
But, I would prefer to use 3.7.2 as it works well with other plugins that I need.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I've had the same problem. The latest m2e plugin no longer works with Indigo (3.7.2)
However, there is an archive page here: http://wiki.eclipse.org/M2E_updatesite_and_gittags. This page has a list of old versions of the plugin. I just successfully installed version 1.0 SR2.
Same problem here, I installed successfully version 1.3.1 from http://download.eclipse.org/technology/m2e/releases/1.3/1.3.1.20130219-1424
I have added the below link in "Install New Software" in Indigo.
http://download.eclipse.org/technology/m2e/releases/1.3/1.3.1.20130219-1424
I got two options M2E and SLF4j. Accept them .. After download ..Click Restart.. .
For more versions use the below URL's

Had the same problem with Indigo Release 2 and this m2e update site worked http://download.eclipse.org/technology/m2e/releases/1.4/?d

Eclipse, Maven, Subclipse & Multiple Modules

I have a project in SVN that I have checked out into a new install of eclipse (Indigo). Previously, with the m2e and subclipse plugins I was able to check out as a Maven project - but this no longer seems possible. I read somewhere, however, that checking out and then converting to a maven project is the way to go.
I've done that, but my project has a number of nested modules - each of which I would like to appear as separate projects in the eclipse workspace. This used to be possible and specified during checkout, but no longer seems to work.
Is this possible and, if so, how can I do it?
I managed to find the m2e subclipse connector - which I had previously failed to find. This set it all out exactly as I had hoped it would.
Maybe you don't use the right version of M2Eclipse :
Indigo is Eclipse 3.7, and "m2eclipse is compatible with Eclipse 3.5.2 and 3.6.1" (source : http://m2eclipse.sonatype.org/installing-m2eclipse.html).
"m2e is tested against Eclipse 3.6 (Helios) and 3.7 (Indigo)" (http://www.eclipse.org/m2e/)
You could also try using this plugin: http://code.google.com/p/q4e/
We use that over m2e and provides better menu support for manage dependencies and importing Maven2 projects.

Installing Eclipse

I am installing Eclipse for RCP and RAP Developers. My old copy went rogue and decided to act up.
So clean install time! Yay! I downloaded the new version, copied it to the opt folder, extracted it, and ran it.
For some reason, I can't install any plugins due to some crap error*, and it doesn't have a list of default plugins. I deleted my workspace and the original Eclipse install.
Is there another file that is helping Eclipse keep data from previous installs? I am seeing update sites I added when I was constantly trying to get past this issue.
Also, why can't I install new plugins?
I need a clean install so I can't use the Ubuntu installer.
Any tips are appreciated.

I had the same problem when doing a fresh install of Java EE eclipse (helios, galileo, win32 and win64).
The solution for me was to explicitly open the Java perspective, and doing the install after this. This time the installation worked fine.
I suspect the reason is that after a fresh install not all bundles are loaded (although they are present on disk; a feature of eclipse) so that the dependencies cannot be resolved. Opening the Java perspective or creating a dummy Java project will force to load these bundles. Once a bundle is loaded, its existence is persisted, so this only has to happen once.
This issue was mentioned a number of time on the official websites, but always closed or neglected, probably because the reproducer did not do a fresh install.
Download Eclipse 2018-19 (4.9.0) version as an updated eclipse version and install it! Maven dependency will presented inbuild thing in that model, Right click on project -> properties -> on left pane, Maven will display ! Change your setting there to overcome this error and you can add external JAR'S there

Eclipse Java EE - Galileo - Unable to view plugins

I am new to Eclipse so I am having a hard time troubleshooting this problem. I have a new installation of Eclipse Java EE - Galileo on Windows, and I am unable to see any changes made in the IDE after installing plugins. I have verified that the plugins are installed via installation details, but see no changes made.
For example, after installing the maven integration plugin m2eclipse I go to File->New->Project ... and I have no option for maven. After installing the QuickRex plugin I have no view for it etc.
I have tried re-installing the plugins, re-installing Eclipse, and starting Eclipse with the -clean option, but nothing has resolved the issue.
Any ideas? Thanks!
Ok. This is just a wild guess but could you start over with a fresh install and make sure that you uncheck the option Contact all update sites during install to find required software as shown below:

I faced a similar problem (on another platform than yours), some updates were "disabling" all my plugins. Not checking this option allowed me to work around this issue.
Follow-up: You'll need to install that Zest stuff manually from the GEF update site:
