Change the ID of a standard TYPO3 mailform - forms

Every Form object created in TYPO3 has the ID "mailform".
<form action="thanks/" id="mailform" name="mailform" enctype="multipart/form-data[...]
This seems to be a problem since I have 2 forms on 1 page, and when (I think) the IDs are the same, the validation script doesn't work.

As reported here: http://lists.typo3.org/pipermail/typo3-english/2006-April/024467.html
in your main template setup field add this code:
tt_content.mailform.20.formName >
now every mailform will have a different unique (a hash) form id

Use the form extension (system extension since TYPO3 4.6, see the release notes).
You can define an individual id in the tab Form.

1) Look into the Extension files.. maybe you can change it somewhere there easyily.
2) Is it possible for you to change the id maybe via javascript/jquery?
maybe it helps you fix the problem with the validation script:
$('#mailform').each(function(index,value){
index++;
$(this).attr('id', 'mailform'+index);
});

How to get the Log In Form on every page? (for example in footer) Typo3

Is there a way to get the Log In Form for Frontend User on every page? I would prefer the footer.
And if someone is logged in you can see the Log Out Button.
Is this possible without an extension?
You can copy the default felogin output to wherever you want on your template. For example use lib.login, copy the plugin.tx_felogin_pi1 into it, change the template and you're fine.
lib.login < plugin.tx_felogin_pi1
lib.login.templateFile = path/to/your/template/file
More you can see in the official documentation: https://docs.typo3.org/typo3cms/extensions/felogin/8.7/Configuration/Index.html
In general there are three options to include a CE (e.g. the Login-form) on all pages:
use typoscript to generate the CE. Normally the CEs are defined in tt_content, from where you could copy the base configuration and adapt it. For some plugins you also find a complete configuration beyond lib (for newer extensions there you only find the settings). All the configuration must be done in typoscript.
use typoscript to render the content of a special page/ column. In this variant you have a special page only for content referenced somewhere else. Advantage: you could configure the CE in the usual way. Try to avoid referencing CEs by uid as an editor might disable or delete the current element(s) and insert a new one which would not be rendered.
use a special column in your root page and inherit the content to all subpages. Advantage: you could change the inherited content easily on each page (if this column is available in the current backend layout).
example for 3:
variables {
footer_content < styles.content.get
footer_content.select.where = colPos = 15
footer_content.slide = -1
}

Silverstripe display logic for Front-end/Bootstrap forms

Silverstripe Display Logic works perfectly on forms in the CMS but I cannot get it to work on forms in the front end, specifically Bootstrap forms.
It will hide the element but won't display it when logic is applied.
//If the wetsuit dropdown is equal to custom then show the fins numerical field.
DisplayLogicWrapper::create(NumericField::create("Fins","Fins"))->displayIf("Wetsuit")->isEqualTo('Custom')->end(),
I see it just needs display to change from none to block.
Is there a way to do this so that it will keep the state on page reload as well? The drop down value will be saved as a DB entry.
EDIT: This works in the CMS but doesn't work in the front end - Custom is part of the enum values.
DropdownField::create("Wetsuit","Wetsuit")
->setSource(singleton('DiveEquipment')->dbObject('Wetsuit')->enumValues())
->setEmptyString('Select one'),
NumericField::create('Fins','Fins')
->displayIf('Wetsuit')
->isEqualTo('Custom')
->end(),
EDIT2: Working with SilversTripe 3.5, Bootstrap Forms 1.20 and Display Logic 1.0.8
1.0.8 is very outdated though.
I don't think you need the DisplayLogicWrapper for most fields… It's meant for fields like UploadField.
Have you tried this?
NumericField::create('Fins','Fins')
->displayIf('Wetsuit')
->isEqualTo('Custom')
->end(),
Not the issue here, but it's worth noting that a bug exists in Display Logic 1.3 and lower where the custom templates exist in /templates/ not /templates/forms/, causing precedence issues.
If you're experiencing problems with a FieldGroup not rendering the correct template or whatnot. Upgrading to Display Logic 1.4 will resolve this.
You'll need to include jQuery and jQuery Entwine for this to work on the frontend. This is untested but should resolve your issue.
class Page_Controller extends ContentController {
public function init() {
parent::init();
Requirements::javascript(THIRDPARTY_DIR . '/jquery/jquery.js');
Requirements::javascript(THIRDPARTY_DIR . '/jquery-entwine/dist/jquery.entwine-dist.js');
}
}

Manage hierarchy / enforce priority of TS-templates

Well, there is actually another guy with exact the same problem. But until today, they didn't come up with a solution, that's why I'm asking it once again.
My entire TS is included by an extension in TYPO3 7.6.8. This works fine except with indexed_search. The TS inside my resources EXT get overwritten by the indexed_search default TS.
This is the order of the TS inside the Template-Analyzer:
SYS: TYPO3_CONF_VARS:FE:defaultTypoScript
EXT:fluid_styled_content/Configuration/TypoScript/...
... a bunch of other third party extensions ...
EXT:indexed_search/Configuration/TypoScript
EXT:templates_ext/Resources/Private/TypoScript
extbase
fluid
extensionmanager
belog
beuser
felogin
indexed_search
sys_note
realurl
So #7 is the extension which includes all my TS but it gets overwritten by #14. The only way to configure the indexed_search is inside the setup of the page template (which comes after all those above). But I want to avoid that to keep things clean.
Is there a way to prioritize a certain TS so that it doesn't get overwritten?
Open the TypoScript record, switch to the tab "Includes", at the bottom you will find the field Static Template Files from TYPO3 Extensions:. Select the value Include before all static templates if root flag is set.
Try putting the TS from your template extension inside the root page Setup field like this (adjust the path if necessary, your example says Resources/Private/TypoScript?):
<INCLUDE_TYPOSCRIPT: source="FILE:EXT:templates_ext/Configuration/TypoScript/setup.ts">
This should make sure that it is included AFTER all the other includes (I assume you included those via the includes tab?)

Zend Framework Dynamically added fields of a form and populate

I have been attempting to create a form where a user can simply press a button and the form will add a new field for the user to use. I have 2 of these dynamically added field types.
Firstly a field where a user can upload files, by pressing the add button another field is pasted underneath the current field and is ready for use.
I have followed an old guide on how to get this done with a bit of ajax and jQuery.
This guide to be exact: http://www.jeremykendall.net/2009/01/19/dynamically-adding-elements-to-zend-form/
As you can see it's from 2009 and a bit outdated yet it still works under the current Zend Framework version 1.11.11
The problem however arises now that i want an edit / update version of the form. I need to populate it's fields but first of all i need to create enough fields for the data to be stored in. So when there's 3 files that have been uploaded it should create 2 additional fields and place the 3 file names in these fields ready to be edited and updated. Simply using $form->populate($stuff) is not going to work
I just have no idea how to accomplish this and the tutorial on dynamically added fields only goes as far as the addAction and not how to create the editAction under these conditions.
Is there any tutorial out there on how to create and manage forms such as these? I'm sure i am not the only one who's had the idea to builds these kind of forms?
I can add my code if there's a request for it but it's the same as the example from the guide, just a different set of elements in the form.
Adding a small example of it's use.
A user adds an item with 3 files, these files are uploaded along with a filename so in the database it appears like this : File_Id : '1' , File_Name : 'SomeFile' , File_location : 'somewhere/on/my/pc/SomeFile.txt'.
Now the user realizes he forgot a file or wants to delete a file from that list, he goes to the edit page and here i want the form to display the previously added filenames. So if there's 3 files it shows 3 and when there's 2 it shows 2 etc. How do i build a form to dynamically add fields based on the number of uploaded files and then populate them?
Any advice on how to handle this is well appreciated :)
You can make use of the semi-magic setXxx() methods of the form.
Inside the form:
public function setFiles($files) {
foreach ($files as $file) {
$this->addElement(/* add a file element */);
//do other stuff, like decorators to show the file name, etc.
}
}
In your controller:
$files = $model->getFiles();
$form = new Form_EditFiles(array('files' => $files));
By passing an array with key files you will make the form try to call the method named setFiles(), which you have conveniently provided above.
This should push you in the right direction, or so I hope at least.
If I understand you correctly you want to populate file upload fields, which is not possible because of security reasons.
Edit:
You can add Elements inside of the Controller via $form->addElement() (basicly just like the $this->addElement() statements in the Tutorial)

I'm not specifying the form action but it (automatically) gives different values in some cases

I'm creating my form using the Form helper, so the action of the form is specified automatically....
this form is used for editing a post..
so, the URL has the structure: mywebsite.com/posts/edit/id
and the form's action should be automatically generated as posts/edit/id
but the problem is, in some cases, I open the HTML code and I find that the form's action is only posts/edit without the id which causes the update to fail...
I spent a lot of time to figure out what situation brings this wrong action:
i'm generating fields dynamically (using javascript & ajax) depending on the post's category..
when the value of one of the dynamically generated fields is invalid, the generated action becomes posts/edit !!
I really need help, cuz I don't know why this is happening !!!
and I don't wanna waste more time digging into the core of cakephp...
so, if any of cakephp experts has an idea about this, plz help me !!
thank you in advance !
Use the url parameter, which allows you to explicitly define a url for the form:
echo $form->create('Post', array('url' => $html->url(array('action'=>'edit', $id))));
It sounds like $id probably isn't getting set, because it should be getting passed along if it is. You need to make sure it's set to edit the record in question. Make sure your javascript is including the hidden field with the record's id in it.
Normally done like this, with the form helper: echo $this->Form->input('id');
Also, if one of the fields is invalid, the form shouldn't actually be submitting properly, if you are using cake's validation, so this is to be expected.
